  1. @Metallicow

"We will give this guy a chance. I like competition. It is what keeps the game running....

He HAS posted an apology. Let's see what he as got."

"Better the devil ya know" ....ya reckon??.

"Granted, this guy has screwed up, have you not..? ARE YOU PERFECT? . NO."

Not perfect ....not even good.....no need to SHOUT!.

    ........

    "Watch... and learn......"

    Yeah yeah....."give em enough rope.........".

    TC.

  2. I'm dumbfounded that anyone would still want to support gmod .

They have the knowledge that they cannot charge for mods, Therefore they would surely have the knowledge to Not upload any files that they didn't have explicit permission to do so and yet they DID.

And to have the owners of mods Need to join so as to remove files ...they've got a hide thicker than a croc's back,

To top that off they put their site online accessible by the public and claim it was for testing purposes......Like Dark0ne said...it should have been on a closed circuit only accessible by their staff/crew. .......why do I smell the stench of deceit ?????.

In the past I have used mods downloaded from a site only to find the instructions on another site in another mod made by a "different" modder......thing is it was not a "different" mod it was the EXACT same mod.....only repacked with a different authors name!!!.

Think carefully about this mob, somehow if they can find a way to make money from mods .....they certainly will do it....even if it means selling mods from a "sacrificial pawn type" site.

The simple fact that they took mods and then ask that modder to request removal should say it all.

NO I would not go near them ......exception would be only to give them a lesson in "RESPECT" .

  3. M&B Warband....that game is just plain Nasty, and if you don't do the first quest it gets Cold an' Nasty ...it always seemed easier if you at least accepted the first quest. Even if ya cheat IE: max stats n abilities, sooner or later ya gonna be fighting a somewhat impossible fight ....like if you're mobbed against 351 and you don't take out the ranged attackers first your gonna end up with arrows, axes and spears in your face to the point of NOT being able see anything but, and the only way to wipe em out is to use the map ....even if their a few feet away .....you can't see em....lol.....although that can be "tweaked out"......I find it amusingly interesting to cheat in different games because it's interesting to see the game scale up to the point of trying to challenge you....and M&B Warband is one of them.
  4. WOuldn't a neutral just be the same as simply downloading it and leaving a comment without a rating?

It probably would be, but sometimes it's a lot easier to scroll down the endorsements and see what comments are left and see the "didn't suit the persons taste or beliefs" or "was incompatible etc" ---the auto thingy-- IE: don't need to click on it. Rather than wading through sometimes 500 comments as opposed to say 50-150.

i guess the point I and the up loaders were trying to make is that a "negative" endorsement makes the mod "look bad" at first appearance....and I was suggesting a place IE: "neutral" where at first glance one can see that it's NOT a bad file and where commenter could say "it didn't suit my blah blah blah".

Because if ya think about it RE: didn't suit beliefs etc.......= ignore{for deciding on whether to DL or not}....to me it says file works OK and maybe it's got something that I would like.. ...=not really a negative. But it looks "negative" at first appearances...it's like a "false negative" and a "Blue neutral" allocation would give commenter a place for such comments and leave the comments section for questions and problem solving. TC.

The next update to the sites will do away with the endorsement system and instead use something like a 1-10 system (If I read it right). That way you'll be able to rate a mod a 5 for Average, 1 would be very poor, and 10 would be metaphysical perfection.

I never saw an 1-10 system being intended...from what I gather that was "the old system"....I could be wrong.

    what is funny is I read a couple of comments, 1.wants a good/bad endorsement style.(two way) 2. another wants a , good/ non counting/ bad style.(three way)

But one thing is almost certain....the comments will be tidied and sorted, which in itself will make a huge difference.

Personally I think it needs to be at least a three way style...as some mods are not "bad" and not "good" but rather "ok" if you like that sort of thing.

So like I said, a "neutral" would be nice....as it let's people know that at least it's not gonna mess the game up....'cause that would be "bad" and we wouldn't want any of that !!!!. TC.

  6. I think the endorsement's the way they are is probably the most efficient method IE: didn't suit beliefs etc.......= ignore{for deciding on whether to DL or not}....to me it says file works OK and maybe it's got something that I would like...skimpy skirts lesbianism etc....hehehe :whistling: ...=not really a negative.

Although am thinking that a "blue" neutral rating would be nice ...it could say "am still trying it out " or "nothing wrong with it">add comment<...{can hear Dark0ne bashing head in wall :wallbash: }....yeah yeah I know it costs more resources etc...But I'm willing to watch two adds {if they could be run simultaneously} (as a suitably matched pair of course) --would need refinement--== potential ~XX%~ increase revenue......just a thought to satisfy the "unsatisfied".

In any case I'm happy the way it is and only endorse if I really like it, the ones that I don't like I delete IE: have never gave a negative......but a "BLUE" would allow me to leave a comment without it appearing "negative".and keep the mod up loaders happy. . TC.

  7. @phaenan Yeeahaaa....Done it ! ....I never knew that a file could be dropped onto an exe, get converted and sent somewhere else...users folder..kind of amazing in a way !!!.....had fun "indexing" or renumbering ...figured it after 3 or so "how to's"....And deleting... Duh Me !.... wasn't clicking on the far left (next to it) didn't occur to me to highlight the whole row...lol.....odd thing is there was about 590 items in the XLS file ... but only 380 in the getx....but i think thats about the right number, although there are multiples of "Shale armor"? which i don't recall seeing before am guessing that sirA's must have some filtering in it.

But yeah am kinda wrapped ...it's the first time I've ever opened a file & messed around with it that couldn't be opened in notepad!!!.

And that "mini tutorial"...it's GOLD ! am sure others will find it useful...just need "something" to edit XLS files like excel.

So a big THANK YOU for the guidance ....I'd still be stumblin' around in the dark without it.

    ~HAIL~ TC.

  8. @phaenan Whoa... a mini tutorial !!!...got the GDApp and converted to XLS...that was easy.

Got stuck using excel trying to highlight and delete rows / columns....have NEVER used excel before so that's gonna be fun...will need to have dig at using it..{it almost seems as daunting as photoshop} which I have a very un-orthodox way of using...self taught and some things still not learnt....even after 2-3 years with it.!!!.

However I did notice in your highlight of deleting on the png pic that you only had about 2000 items... ??is that correct??....which is interesting because dcinroc, myself and other peoples posts are getting about 10000 items...that's like 7-8000 items difference ......although with my stumbling with excel somehow it checked for duplicates and there were none....so hmmm idk.

Although we can open GDA files is there not some way that we could put some sort of coding that says "ok we scanned that item but let's not put it in the storage inventory when get/getx is applied...like {i don't know if it's called scripting or not} but i have seen files that use < : >>// ""_ ....< those kind of things that tell the program to either yay nay or yay but leave it there and so forth when placed in front of listed item....but Yeah i'm guessin' that would be something sirA would probably be doin' if he made a filter..........But the reason I ask is does the game use some similar code and perhaps we could put the appropriate symbol{s} in front of the item that would prevent the item being read into the storage inventory upon get /getx but still allows sirA's scanner know that it's been accounted for.............GAH !!!!! ignore last paragraph .....dysfunctional at best.

Anyways, Thank you for the mini tut' am gonna see if can get head around excel.......any tips would be appreciated.

    ~Hail~ TC.

  9. @phaenan thnx for quick response!, Yeah figured the "addon configuration" around the time you were replying {am still learning the ins&outs of TWF}...nice .

For a "first ever mod" .....mate, That kicks butt !!...you obviously must have some "in-depth" technical know-how.

"adding a built-in filter to Add Any Item would only take a few seconds"......Would that be at all possible to do by having a list/script/file that could be placed in Add Any Item's overide folder {or somewhere else} just to tell it not to look at "phae_" .......I'm just thinking of "worse case scenario" if sirA cannot be contacted and/or add a filter to Add Any Item Visual Deluxe........Sorry !!... if that's a stupid question but I am pretty clueless when it comes to these things...am NOT tech savvy at all.

Again thnx for quick response, I've noticed that you answer a lot of queries from people rather quickly ...how do you keep up with it all?? [scratches head].............

    .....Much Respect....TC.

  10. @DW thx mate! ...yeah seems you could be right about a "storing" database IE: when i re-installed TWF all my uber god of gods items where still intact..phew [wipes sweat from brow] { couldn't have me "champ" any less equipped} ...but i did use the same save un- altered. &..was only done to replicate dcinroc's problem....

However I see a very legitimate request to have phaenan make a "trimmed down version" TWF...{for "lazy cheaters" like me anyway}...if not, any other mod items we add will not be able to be scanned with siramods "any item visual deluxe" without first uninstalling TWF...{ I got to salute phaenan for having such "diligence & persistence" for producing such an enormously complicated mod}...from a technical perspective !...and because he/she knows the mod perhaps it would be just a simple script to add that would disable or remove the items involved or perhaps prevent those particular items from being scanned by siramods any item visual deluxe.....personally I'd like them removed altogether as one who likes to clear all chests & crates etc... while playin' it only adds to more "junk" needed to be removed {thanx whaddaflock for "utility sack"}... yet another damn good mod!....as phaenan has given us the "cheat tweak" perhaps it could be altered to do as requested....although I'd have no idea...am not "tech savvy" and by nature tend to look for "simple solutions". TC.

  11. @dcinroc HA HA LOL.... your'e right it looks too funny IE: character standing in vase!!!!...I didn't scan with siramods prior to your call..and then I did LOL.

Workaround: uninstall TWF using DAmodder thingy...{.no need to click on barrel ingame}..just right click uninstall from left list ALL TWF lelianas, witch hunt etc...

Then go to siramods scanner and scan......the list should be considerably smaller {not 100003 items} {for makers sake!!!} .....WTF phaenan!.

Then just re-instal TWF ...BUT DO NOT scan with siramods scanner.

    am thinking you probably saved with the fault and you may or may not {try without first} have to start game and make new save with TWF uninstalled. {not sure how that will go}

But damn there is too many items in TWF ...am using cheat tweak ....personally HATE all the fiddlin' and diddlin. things like that....although I understand some people do, It would be nice if phaenan could release a trimmed cheater's version...without the "junk"...like there isn't enough in the standard game.....good luck TC.

  12. @dcinroc I've been using TWF for a couple of days and "any item visual deluxe"{damn good mod!} for a lot longer ...am running about 30 mods and have not had any "vases" ...both mods seem to be working without any major problems...I say major because TWF seems to have slowed some of the load times {am guessing it's cause of all the scrolls/essence/formula/junk in TWF}<<would actually like to remove those. Also find TWF works well with "utility sack"....maybe you've got something else conflicting...Although i will say that "runscript get" does take a while to load IE: 1267 odd items or more..."getx" = a lot quicker....but no probs here...TC.
  13. Any chance : VAMPIRE ARMOR from NWN2 as a light armor or clothing, although there are some very nice armor mods my "champ" SORONA {dislike the hero term} feels naked without her "Armor of Choice" ...She's tempted to seduce and "bite" all modders if her call is refused....am powerless to stop her as have been "bitten".
