  1. Wafflesalot, in answer to what you said: "I would like to hear your guys thoughts on what the danger of Absorbing magic should be? I was thinking along the lines of there is a slight chance of Dropping the weapon each absorb, or perhaps disintegration of the Weapon or simply just cause damage to the player sometimes while overcharged? but maybe you fellas will have better ideas." I like the sound of your ideas for dropping of the weapon. I think disintegration maybe a bit harsh - although im happy for it to be an option... I think unpredictability should be a result of the over charge so maybe a random chance of any option... I definately think damage to the player and also for as long as a weapon is overcharged.... But also (because i am a player who likes to use warriors who dont cast spells) I would love to give it back to the mage who cast it... Picture a warrior with an over charged sword, lightning arcing up his arms and into his body from the unstable weapon... grimacing in pain he staggers towards the mage.... then with one swipe he strikes the mage unleashing the over charge in a satisfying explosion of blade, mage and lightning!! Sorry thats my bitterness against lightning casting mages coming out! I still dont think it should be easy - I would happily die trying to pull this one off! Maybe it could empty the blades charge, or make it unusable for a while.... I would add those two ideas to the list of possible consequences: Weapon becomes unstable and may discharge completley Blade becomes unusable for a period of time Any one else with better ideas for consequences and dangers of charging weapons by blocking spells please comment.... we need them ;)
  2. I just wanted to add that there have been a number of requests (including those by ekimolaos and camelstyle) along this line in the last week... and many before. This is a genuine need in the community... Any takers... pleeease ;)
  3. I have a mod request simalar to this... and I have seen a few others. Requests for alternative ways to charge weapons actual comes up quite a bit on these forums... look them up and reply to them to keep the interest building.... Maybe one of the good modders will listen and take it up.... I would love a mod that offered a few alternates to recharging weapons that could be switched on/off.... but strictly in an immersive way without the super power cheat ideas....
  4. I agree, with the original poster of this request.... The surrender function of NPC's is an unfinished work..... It always leaves me most unsatisfied when it happens... not sure why they left it in when it isnt functional (although I guess it gives you a breather in a fight). Once shackles are on the options could be: take them to prison for a bounty spare their lives for their equipment then they can flee (gone for good) give assistance for current fight/time frame then they can flee (gone for good) small once only chance to persuade to be a follower leave shackled up Actually heaps more ideas spring to mind.... if they help you there could still be a chance they could turn in the next fight?? rogues might escape their shackles at some point......... I suppose if they are not shackled then they will revert to fighting back as normal....
  5. Its great to see someone quickly answer to a mod request but it seems a shame to loose the perk altogether (from what i understand this perk increases your chance of a kill move)..... what effect would reducing the chance of decapitation to zero have.... would you still have the increase in your kill move chance from the perk.. Any one interested in still having a crack at saving the perk and removing the decap animation for those who are sick of seeing it (or sickened lol). Cheers alll.....
  6. I would love to see some changes/alternatives to the enchanted weapon recharge.... I have seen quite a few requests but no mods (except infinite charge). And based on this have posted a request and suggestions for alternatives myself. I wonder if the subject is 'taboo'.... or too hard or just not glamorous for modders to get involved with? If you didnt know: You could use the console to recharge your weapon or download the infinite charge mod.... but if you are like me.... you wont feel right about it as far as immersion goes.... Have a look at my request: mod request: recharge weapon alternatives. Maybe we can work together to generate some interest...
  7. Hi Any takers on creating a mod to provide alternative ways to recharge weapons, or any ideas for alternative charging. The only thing I can find in my searches are infinite charge mods or using the console.... this is not so good for those who dont like the ultimate weapon cheat style of play or want to maintain some kind of immersion integrity to their game. Lets stay away from contriversial talk regarding soul charging and ethics etc... just some cool ideas that add immersion and fun...... and nothing that is just an easy non immersive fix.... 'hey look I press a button and my weapon kills everything now'. My ideas include: Blocking of certain spells with an enchanted weapon can absorb 'charge' at considerable risk to the blocker. The more powerfull the spell the more charge is absorbed by the weapon. Maybe charge gained would be directly proportional to the damage sustained/inflicted. Leach weapons that drain the charge from other weapons on block then can charge other weapons. Localities that an enchanted weapon can be placed on and recharged... rare/hidden, rumours from npcs for finding, maybe these would have time limits before they can be used again.... Since I first posted this I have seen numerous request for alternatives to weapon reacharge... this is a real need in the community some one please take this up ;) Thanks in anticipation
