  1. No. I did not. I did it manually following the directions from a Skyttz video. I had to unzip the file, pick the folder I wanted, put it in the game directory. :/ Another thing I am wondering is if I maybe don't have the most up to date patch for the original game. I should. I would completely expect too. The game runs fine. Perfect even on vanilla game settings. So it has to be something to do with the mods I am getting and then trying to run the game afterwards. It is entirely possible I have the wrong stuff from Rudy's. I really don't know. If I knew what I was doing and what the problem was, I wouldn't be here fussing and trying to figure it out. :D As a complete side note... I've been looking at this Project Nevada stuff on the link. I mean absolutely no disrespect when I ask this... but why is it so special? The last update was almost 5 years ago. It requires the NVSE, and recommends FOMM instead of NMM or any of the others. I'm already having enough trouble just getting some simple mods working. Does this replace some of the stuff I wanted to do? I'm looking at some of the stuff it changes. I don't care about grenade hotkeys. I don't care about helmets and stuff, or grumbling when I'm not eating enough food. I'm not saying the mod is bad or anything. With 80,000 endorsements it has to be great. I personally don't get it though. To me, it's in the same boat as giving the NCR an overhaul. I don't like the NCR. I never did. I pretty much just want to get a bazooka and blow them up! So I prefer them to be the scrubs and wimps. So a mod that makes them better..? That doesn't appeal to me. Not yet anyway... not while I am still just trying to figure out how to get things working correctly. Does that make sense?
  2. The crash to desktop was my original problem after installing the mods... It was why I was looking for help in the first place. It just seemed to me that all the help I was finding was having me get more stuff to check, double check, fix, reorder (or whatever), to fix the problem... Yet... I still got the same problem. I'm not sure, but I think I may have installed something in the wrong order initially... I'm honestly not sure. If I had somebody nearby who is great at modding I'd simply show them what I am working with, what mods I wanted to use, and let them figure it out. I have this funny feeling that the problem is something insanely simple that can be fixed in like 2 minutes or it's going to be something crazy serious and complicated to fix. :/
  3. Ugh. Okay. I got LOOT squared away and doing the right thing. I used the Wrye Flash too, following the directions step by step since I can understand them better than text on a screen like in the "hot" topic at the top of this forum. Game loads up and gets about a second and a half into the introduction music, and then crash to desktop. This is ridiculously annoying. I seriously am about to wipe all of Fallout NV (both installs), the NMM, LOOT, all the downloads, and all of the editor things, and start from scratch. One of the things I think I am getting hung up on now is the difference between the Nexus Mod Manager, the Mod Organizer, LOOT, Wrye Flash, and FNVEdit. Why do I need all four? What's the point in all of them? What is the priority of those to use and why? I've looked all over and it appears everyone is using something different. Isn't there some sort of standard guideline? Is there anyone who has a legit, "Do this. Do this. Do this. Do this. Don't do that. Do that instead, and now you have what you're after." This is really frustrating. I don't need more programs and things to keep track of. I need less. All of this about Merging and Bashing, and Load Orders and whatnot is gibberish to me. What's the point of doing a merge or a bash if I can only use one. I appreciate the input and the attempt to assist, but seriously. At this point I'm just getting angry.
  4. Thank you for the advice. A problem I am having with LOOT is that is keeps wanting to redirect to my clean install of the game and isn't showing the modded one. I went in and manually changed it to the directory of the modded one, tagged the apply, and then refreshed, and the thing is still showing me the unmodded one. I've tried closing it out and reloading it, and it still refuses to show me the modded one. This is, in part, why I feel like I am missing something. EDIT: I am not a complete moron, lol. I did spend two or three days looking over vids on youtube that modders recommend (particularly Skyttz or however he spells his name). I thought I went out of my way to find mods that are compatible, too. That's why this is boggling my mind. As a side note, I'm not really interested in updating the NCR. I don't like them much anyway and don't really care about them so much.
  5. Hello! I am sorry to bother you (any of you who read this) because I am sure you are busy, but please hear me out. I'm totally new to this modding thing. :/ I've got around 25 different mods I want to use. I've got a clean install of the game plus one specifically for modding... and I am sure I am messing up somewhere. I'm not sure what order I need them all in either. I've got a legit copy of FNV with all of the DLC. I've got LOOT, FNVEdit, and I seen another one I need to get from the first "hot" topic in this forum. I'm working on that now, but again, I'm really newb-shy here with this stuff and some help (and gentle nudging in the right directions) would be a big help. If I give you a list of the mods I want to use, can you help me out? The list is... Caesar's New Regime - Legion Overhaul Rudy's ENB 4 gig Fix NVAC YUP for all DLC Delilah Improved Sunny Smiles - Normal Armor Better Veronica + Improved Sandbox Desmond Harper GilbertCompanionv1dot0 RaidergirlCyan Joanna 2.1 Vulpes Inculta Companion Updated Unlimited Companions Beware of Girl Type 3 Collision Meshes FNV NMC's Texture Repack Large 1-3 EVE Wasteland Flora Overhaul v2.9b Sexxxy Card Revamp 3.0 WoNV All in One This is not a dress-38015-1 Version 1_0-47621- Weapon Mods Expanded Mod Configuration Menu Now, I have used the Nexus Mod Manager / added files I had to download manually. My machine is normally capable of running the game with ultra high quality graphics. I am using Windows 7 (x64). I did the Archive Invalidation too. I even ran the game once, first, before trying to mod to make sure it set my graphics correctly. Some of my questions are... I installed Nexus Mod Manager to it's own directory so I could keep all of my mods in one place regardless of the game (Fallout 3, New Vegas, Witcher 2, and State of Decay were all found by the NMM). Will it automatically put the mods in the modded game folder for the right game, or when I download the mods do I have to put them in the New Vegas folder itself? Next, do I have to use the Archive Invalidation after each individual mod, or can I do it after I've installed them all? What order should I install them in, or does it matter? Will the NMM automatically know which order to put them? Is there any way to get as many of these mods that I want to use working together? Or am I asking for too much? Is there something else I am missing that I should have? Or are there better choices of mods that will do what I want to do? My goal is to make the game look better, add some more companions (particularly the girls or at least Legion friendly ones), make the Legion look and feel better than the wimps they normally are, improve my weapons, and then add some things like the custom cards for Caravan or the Casinos. I don't care about making the girls naked, or adding new armor / a lot of extra content. If you (the reader), who is obviously an expert (or at least better than me) at this, could help me out, that would be amazing. I am sorry if I put this in the wrong place / forum. I will gladly redirect somewhere else if it is more appropriate. Thank you for your time and consideration in advance. -WLB
