  1. Maybe this is the best place to ask, but it's worth a shot. I recently cracked it with skyrim and it's constant crashing with my save games always being corrupted. So I decided to do a clean install and deleted absolutely everything. So, now when I put my retail disk in to install the game, I get told it's going to be an install needing space in the order of 8Gb. However, the metre when the install starts is some over 5Gb only and for a while, everything is peachy. That is untill somewhere in the 2Gb installed mark where I'm suddenly told steam has finished installation and despite having auto updates disabled, steam proceeds to start downloading the game from scratch. To the order of 6.8Gb, something I can rarely accept on a 3G prepaid broadband plan. I've encountered the whole, downloading despite a disk issue before, though usually it would disobey my order from the beginning but I was able to set it on the right path... Not any more and it's really doing my head in.
  2. Our Wars in Skyrim had a plugin like that. As the project is dead (for the moment till I find some help) the only mod I can think of that has similar effect is Pure Waters by Laast. Water do not become dangerous but more difficult to swim in. Also it is mine and Gophers favorite water mod so yeah. Try is out  Thanks very much Darkangel13 :) That's pretty much what I'm after, water with a greater current to swim against
  3. Unless I've gone crazy, I distinctly remember the existence of a mod that made Skyrim's river rapids more dangerous to try and swim through. Non of my search attempts have helped me find it so if anyone here knows of the mod and it's location, I would be very greatfull for your assistance :)
  4. Merry Christmas and a happy new year! lol Graham!
  5. I've just recently gotten the hang of making my own basic follower in the CK when I came across another tutorial that showed steps to importing your player character's data into the CK, apparently a better way to get a more exact look you want for your custom NPC. That all works relatively good, as far as I can tell anyway, though the CK render seems to be missing certain make up applications and things like freckles ( I use a set that replace the dirt options). Anyway, I do the 'ctrl+F4" thing to export the data back into the game, I get the DDS and tga, nif files as expected but not matter what I try, I just can't get the npc to have those assets shown on her, so she's just looking plain with the standard, body, face texture. Is there any way around this problem which doesn't seem to be mine alone? Also, while I'm at it I might as well ask, would I have to make my new NPC a custom race to assign unique textures and such to her and her alone? Directly editing the face and body textures to include the features I want is a possible way to counter the first problem I guess. I thank you in advance for any advice you can offer me.
  6. Please read Acknowledgements in Druids Garden. You are there. Graham.
  7. Thanks for the positive feedback on my stories. Sorry I took so long to get back to you. I hope you are okay. lol Graham.
  8. (okay, trying this posting thing again) Nope, forget it, I don't know why, but when I copy, paste my writing into here, half the words join together errantly.... back to my hole I go
  9. I'm sorry it took me so long to come back on, I really need to make it part of my daily rounds, I've been reading your latest story 'EPIC OF FATES: STORY OF STORIES', I must say I've thoroughly enjoyed the time out to read this. Your writing is very well done without being overcomplicated, your characters are very well fleshed out and your description over the scenes really helps me get the picture moving in my mind. As always I will look forward to your future updates and, well get to them a lot sooner
  10. I have started a new story, trying to make the plot simpler, using smaller posts and hopefully my writing shows improvement. It is called EPIC OF FATES: STORY OF STORIES. Could you please do some reading and post feedback, thank you. lol
  11. I finally have my PC back in working order so I can go back to enjoying your updates, and enjoy them I have. You certainly have a great way with words that just pulls the reader in :)
  12. I assume the same role as many on this thread, I like exploring area's on a whim and living in the land instead of conquering it. However, I've not played it so much, less than 150 hours and not by choice. I've had to reinstall the game and start over three times already and I'm heading for the fourth after I send my dysfunctional 6 month old pc to the place from whence it came to try and find out what plagues my pc's display functionality.
  13. I'll have to get one of those suggested cleaners for the PhysX issue when my internet decides to grace me with functionality once more. On an interesting note, after installing the 285.xx (I forget the numbers after the point) from MSI instead of straight from nvidia I did all these stress tests on MSI Kombuster and it all looked good without a hitch. However, I went to the control panel to Performance Information and Tools and made windows do the test to update my PC's rating. During this test, it got to the direct X 10 part and that's where I got my usual crash and received the 'Kernel error Driver 285 has recovered' usual tdr Any thoughts on this? Edit: okay now I'm even more confused as the system runs on DX11... Edit 2: okay, scrap that, it's crashing even at Direct 3D 9 assessment
  14. Does anyone know a way to remove all knowledge of PhysX for a clean install? I've had to try several drivers to try and put an end to annoying TDR's (the reg key fixes do zip) and have even downloaded nvidia drivers from 275 down as many seem to suggest. However now, even despite following the earlier posted guide, I can't seem to remove PhysX from my computer so any older driver installs are incomplete as there is already a higher version installed... I've tried everything I can think of to remove all trace of the PhysX install to no avail.... This TDR thing is beyond the joke and the latest update turned an occasional occurance to a sure thing every time I try and play skyrim... Always needing to hard reset... Unfortunately I'm not sure what version I was using beforehand that was better...
