Oblivion undeniably had the best quests in the video game history ever. You were mostly placed in an amazingly interesting role of a detective, quests were immersive, most of them had an interesting twist, there were like 4 fetch quests in the whole game.(and they were fun and actually made sense)The quests were so dynamic, diverse, unique and above all, they were FUN.
Only thing I'd like is more escort quests and random encounters on the ROADS a la Morrowind, not that Oblivion didn't have those, Morrowind actually had way too many seemingly random NPCs on the road, still, they all had their story and it was often a nice change from traveling alone. Anyway that's a personal preference rather than necessity.
EDIT: Oh and more emphasize on choice/consequence system.

Interesting, probably either a nord or an imperial, sword & shield or dual wielding, with a few spells along my big arsenal of secondary weaponry. But since khajit seem sooooo awesome(argonians probably will too) I will not know for sure until I'm in the editor, who knows, maybe I pick an elf.
I like to call my class as jack of all trades, ace of the sword :P
I will search every inch of Skyrim and I won't finish the main quest 'till I've seen at least majority of the game. Above all, my character is an adventurer, an explorer, and often a mercenary..until he gets a higher calling and all that stuff :P.
From what I've seen, Skyrim didn't disappoint, in fact it EXCEEDED my expectations, only thing however that I want in the game but they probably won't include, on that level at least, is the system of choices and consequences a la DA:O/Witcher.
Oblivion actually had many good moments regarding choice, but not nearly like The Witcher or DA:O, which is unfortunate, it should be a norm in every RPG.

I loved the arena in Oblivion but it was just not difficult enough.
I didn't mind Oblivion's inconsistent difficulty but in Arena of course, it shows.

Argonians, Argonians, Argonias...oh, and elves! They haven't shown a single elf so far.
I want the good ol' high elves to stay beautiful(well, not that they actually were in Oblivion xD) dunmer to keep that arrogant & pride look, which Bethesda perfectly nailed in Oblivion, and I'd like wood elves to stay short & ridiculous xD but yeah...I'm hoping for too much.
Some town gameplay would be more than neat, including trade, conversations and TAVERNS.
That would be more than enough. Much of the game is still secret and I'd like for it to stay that way :)
Items, Armors and weapons especially, I want to stay secret until I get the game.

Interesting topic.
I absolutely loved the werewolves in Morrowind, they WERE running on all 4. I want to see them the same with Skyrim, a werewolf with humanoid face is just yuck. I don't want that. I want my character to become the beast, much more wolf than human.
Then again, I like the concept, but Imagine your character in a werewolf form fighting a dragon, kinda...doesn't fit, right?

It's going to be one epic adventure. Can't wait to see what awaits me there...Can't wait to see the epic vistas from there :D

Interesting topic.
Well, I have share of different usernames, as for my name I always wanted something unique in competitive multiplayer video games, something original, totally not serious and slightly provocative, not to anyone in particular of course, but to noobs I could potentially own :P
And so it stuck, YourStepDad

Did anyone really think it was going to be anything other than a port? As always modders will fix it.
fix what?
Modders never fixed anything about Oblivion being a port, except the big HUD perhaps.

I don't care if it's a port, I just hope they optimize it enough.
I can run Witcher 2 on High, Hell Far Cry 2 almost maxed out and Oblivion maxed out with Quarl's texture pack which can lag here and there but that's all bearable.
Also, Crysis 2 was a blatant port from consoles, I managed to run it on max details so yeah...fingers crossed.
I actually hope they don't include dx11.

Greetings peeps :)
So I'm new to the nexus site and forums, came mostly because I'm a HUGE TES fan and can't wait for Skyrim, so I wanted to share some thoughts with you guys, I've been reading a little, this seems like a nice forum, It'll be fun sharing thoughts with many other impatient people :P
That's pretty much it, for now :)

No mount Combat??

Like Todd said, it would change the nature of the combat too much, meaning horses could be exploited.
I never cared much, though getting of a horse every minute to kill an annoying wolf was a bit annoying.
