Maybe they have some vanilla replaced mods? So your mod using vanilla eyes, hair etc. But them have vanilla replaced, so your mod can't start property with vanilla replaced head parts. Just a theory. I also met that problem with my follower mod. So my idea is create duplicate for all headparts that using your follower, to avoid any vanilla replaced conflicts at user side. And ctrl+f4 is very important part. That help for me, but I have custom race. If you use vanilla race, then maybe that way not good way.
