  1. This problem started today, and it's been a good long while since I last did anything with mods. I simply can't load saves. Like, any saves. If I try to load one, the loading screen will appear but the progress bar will never move - I'm simply stuck indefinitely in loading. It even happens if I start a new game, save, and then try to load that save. The problem also persists if I try to load any save without using mods (including fresh saves started with no mods at all). Tried validating the game files as well, but no dice. Any ideas?
  2. Hi, I've played the Long War mod some time back (like a year ago, on a different computer) and felt I had to revisit the mod after XCOM 2 was announced. As such, I've installed it (without issue) - but the mod does not want to run. The launcher, where you choose between EU and EW, works fine, but if I chose EW nothing happens. The launcher just shuts down and then... nothing. No error message or anything of the sort. If I pick EU the game starts normally, but obviously without the LW mod. I've tried reinstalling both the mod and the game, to no avail. Help?
  3. So the process is coming along nicely until Maramal pronounces the couple wed, and says he presents them with the rings (the bond of matrimony). After this, he just stops and I don't receive the ring. If I walk up to him, he will once again ask me if I want to marry the bride, and I once again say "I do". Following this he says he presents us with the rings, and then stops again. Repeat. Anyone knows what the problem is? I've tried leaving the temple and then reconcile with my partner and rearrange the wedding, but encountered the same bug. Same thing when I reloaded an earlier save as well. I do have the multiple marriages mod - is that mod known to have this bug?
  4. It's stupid, because there must be several of these mods out there, but I can't seem to effing find them; I'm looking for a mod that makes every (or as many as possible) NPC marriageable. Of course I managed to find one right after posting.
  5. So when I build the foundation for the house, it won't appear. I can continue using the carpenter's bench to build the framing, walls, floors etc, but nothing ever appears on the lot. What gives?
  6. The topic pretty much explains it all. The game freezes randomly while I'm defending the barricades/drawbridge/whatever. This is weird(er) because I have played through this quest before with no problems (though as a Stormcloak that time). I also have fairly capable hardware that should have no problems (and didn't have so first time I played the mission) with handling all the characters on screen. I've got an i5-3550 with 3.30 ghz, 8 gb ram and a 2 gb geforce gtx 670. This lead me to believe that a mod was causing the problem, so I inactivated any HD-mods or similar that I had installed, but to no avail. Is there any mods, apart from Warzones which I've never even installed, that is known to cause this kind of problem? Is there something else that could be wrong?
  7. While I agree the companions suck, they're not something that's forced upon you (and personally I'd prefer playing without them even if they were well made) but rather a side feature. I think you're giving that feature way too much attention. About the character control... It wasn't Bethesda who made New Vegas, they merely distributed it. Obsidian developed it.
  8. Only been to one dwemer ruin so far, but it was the largest dungeon I've visited in Skyrim! Huge and awesome.
  9. Yeah there's no way to do it before the CK is released.
  10. Idd the best thing you can do is learn how to use the CK yourself when it is released, and (if possible) team up with some like-minded modders.
  11. Guess they take it one step further than "until death us do apart".
  12. All of the major towns have houses available for purchase. You may also move in with your spouse once you have one, enabling a bunch of smaller settlements to live in. I myself live in Whiterun at the moment, because it was the first dwelling I could get my hands on. Will probably set up shop in Riften or Windhelm, though.
  13. She should be inside the Temple of Mara.
  14. I just went to the closest towns first, being Whiterun and Windhelm. After doing the first mission with the Graybeards I decided to head east, to Riften. After that I've pretty much visited places based on their locations. Only recently entered Markarth for the first time...
  15. You really should search on the forums, on google or one of the Skyrim-wikis before starting a new thread. Anyway, there are only a limited amount of NPC's you can marry (I think it's like ~15 women) and you have to raise their disposition first (by doing quests for them or their family).
  16. i'm guessing you're talking about the guy in the bar in riften city, wich you have to pay 500 gold then he can be your companion? cuse that's the only one in riften i think. I think by "Riftwood" he means "Riverwood", where there is a possible (free) companion.
  17. Playing a heavy-handed assassin with a big axe in my right hand and destruction (magic) in my left, wearing leather armor crafted by myself (as is the axe). Died a couple of times early on when I still haden't decided what and how to play, but now it's all good (though I still have to lower the difficulty sometimes, playing on expert).
  18. Those trolls... Haven't encountered one in quite a while now, and I expect I could take one on at this time, but man they smacked me good earlier, whereas dragons weren't really a problem at all.
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the developers expressedly say before the game was released that there was supposed to be four or five (can't remember exactly) major settlements, and the rest smaller ones?
  20. Found him in the forest somewhere along the road to Riften. :)
  21. When I loaded the game today I noticed that both my own as well as others (though, from what I can tell, not redguards - haven't seen any argonians or khajiit yet) have weird coloring on their face and bodies. Bodies that is, not armor. It's basically grey with black eyes and white hair, what the hell? EDIT: I have no idea why it happened, but it fixed itself after a couple of restarts. Hopefully it won't come back.
  22. I love how this question garners sixteen pages of discussion, lol. To me it is utterly unimportant, but hey - to each his own.
  23. Here you go: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Marriage It's a good site (already), I recommend looking stuff up there before posting in the forums.
  24. No, they just don't have anything to say, yet. I don't know yet about Hilde, but there are plenty of NPC's (aside from the guards) which you cant engage in a conversation with that later on might give you a quest, depending on what you do. That's my understanding of it, anyway.
