Just a couple of quick questions a few hours into the game. I also have a bunch of mods enabled, but hopefully people will recognize if they cause any problems. 1) Is there a way to control the camera and make it synch with actor facing? So that the camera is always facing where I'm facing, and I can navigate with just the WQES keys. 2) Is there an expanded quickbar? It really kills the immersion if I have to click P and pick a talent every time. 3) To remedy the above, can I assign hotkeys to talents and skills? 4) With the Autoloot mod, do I actually have to manually use the Loot Nearby Skill to... uh... loot nearby? LOL was hoping it'd be more automatic. Like don't have to loot items just get added to inventory ya know? 5) Is the CUN rogue bug fixed? I think the one where the modifier for melee didn't calculate correctly. I've only installed the official patches and mods, so not sure if it's fixed. Also speaking of this bug, what's the correct way for it to work? Thank you for your help!

Thank you Thandal, here's my 1st round of questions. 1) Is there an optimal order in installing modifications? -For example Dragon Age Redesigned requires Dracomie's Textures, which is a bunch of .mor override files. JB3 Textures are also a bunch of override files, but are .dds files. Will they interfere with one another? Also the JB3 instructions say simply place the folder into Core/override, but I notice all the DAR .mor files are all unfoldered. Does creating subfolders within Core/override interefere with anything? NVM GOT THAT FIXED 2) I was under the impression that "overrides" don't need to be installed. So all I have to do is drop the files like .mor, .dds, .mhop, or whatever into the Core/override folder and they'll magically activate? I don't need some .dazip extension to activate them? Also most mods don't even provide a .dazip, like DAR and JB3 for example. 3) On the last link you gave which is a community bugfix list, am I to download every fix provided individually? I was hoping there would be a compilation of sorts. That thread is long...

I downloaded the DAO Modmanager and I see all my Official DLCs in there. So that's good. Then I started downloading the mods recommended by some site, like 18 must have mods or something. I run into a problem because the mods like JB textures, Dracomie textures, Dragon Age Redesigned, etc. all have their own installation instructions. So if I follow their instructions I'm using their .exe to extract the files to whatever folder. But then DAO Modmanager has other instructions. Like I'm supposed to "drag and drop" those same files into DAO Modmanager, whatever that means, and create a new thingy? Totally confused, can anyone enlighten me?
-
I'm trying to mod the game now and I'm just beginning to learn how to use DAO Modmanager to get mods. But I also remember there might have been a few bugs that the official updates to the game didn't fix. So is there some unofficial community patch that addresses these bugs? Thanks!

So few mods for W2... :(
mymee replied to shintei's topic in The Witcher's The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Is this also the reason why no mods are updated for Witcher 2 version 2.0? All mods were last updated months ago, like May and June... -
I honestly see very little wrong otherwise with the game. I know Bethesda will fix all the bugs/glitches/exploits/etc. But I also know if Quest Reward leveling wasn't implemented, they never will do so. So hopefully this mod is in the works, if not may I submit a humble request. It really eases the flow of the game, and takes away the punishment of selecting your favorite questline early.

There are so many mods out there, I think literally in the thousands. Finding all the good ones, installing them, and tweaking the files so they are compatible is very time consuming. I've seen mods for other games that have started compiling all the popular/well-made mods into one easy painfree download, and I'm wondering if there's such a thing for Oblivion.
-
Or do they need updating? Really just these three: Menu overhaul, complete equipment overhaul, and better combat. I checked them and they were updated a month or two ago for the 1.3 patch. They have not yet been updated for the 1.35 hotfix. I'm wondering if they are still compatible with the 1.35 version, and if not when or how often mods get updated.
-
Just installed panel tweaks, better combat, and CEO, read the readmes, did what installation told me to do, added the dzip files to cookedpc directory, installed patches where necessary. When launching the game, launcher loads, but if I click play, the Medalion appears in the middle of my screen... and that's it... I've been staring at my Medalion for an hour now, pretty sure the game won't start. Could use some help.

This morning I finally finished downloading and installing mods. I played and everything was error free. I turned my pc off and when I turned it back on a few minutes ago to play, oblivion will not start. Everytime I click play on the launcher no Oblivion application starts in the task manager, but one Oblivion*32.exe process does begin. Repeatedly trying to click play results in several .exe processes, but no application and no game. I changed nothing from this morning to now, I only restarted my computer. Sigh and I thought things were gonna work this time around :wallbash:

First off I'd like to say I RTFM, I RTFM so hard I spent two days installing these mods to OBMM(did not activate of course). On the one hand there is MOBS, Armamentarium, Bob, Loth, WEPON, all hosted on nexus, all with FMs that describe compatibility. On the other hand is Duke Patrick, who seems to not exist here, but is alive and well on Alliance. Duke Patrick's Combat Archery modifies base bow settings and blah blah blah, but so do the weapon mods hosted here on Nexus. Neither ever mentions the other, do they even know other mods exist? Anyway, WEPON for example adds NEW types of weapons, but if Combat Archery seems to only modify vanilla + SI, which is what I assume since he never mentions other mods, what happens to archery if I install all these mods? Will the default bow behave as intended by Duke Patrick, but new bows revert back to oblivion settings? Also, MOBS only has compatibility patches for Fran and OOO, Loth and WEPON is compatible with MOBS changes, but what of Arma and Bob? Please don't ignore me I swear I RTF out of every FM.

Okay, installed lots of mods, started a new game, everything is "working" until I see my first pair of rats, at which point I notice in my attributes menu my speed has a mysterious -32, giving me 8 speed. Weird thing is I don't move any slower, so I guess this is just a UI problem perhaps? But maybe it could also be a leveling/stat calculation bug. Anyone experience this as well? Here's my load order, BOSSed and everything. Also streamline doesn't work... still doesn't work at the end of load order. Steamline initialized will display, but no streamsaves occur. Autosave for some reason keeps happening though. And yes I enabled streamsave in the ini. 1 2 3

Both files were made by flyflightflea, and they each say compatible with pretty much every mod. But they don't seem to be compatible with each other due to the file ScriptIcon_Replacer.esp being in both files. Now is this a problem, or should I just enable both mods, but only one of the scripticon replacer esp. I'm using DR 5 because it's stable, so for mounted combat this is really all there is left. Hope someone can help out.

I checked my load order by installing, BOSSing, starting oblivion, and seeing if everything runs. I have the lated OMOD version of SM, but when I activated it via OMOD, Oblivion will not start. The launcher works, but everything CTDs before I even get to the loading screen for the main menu. Here are my enabled mods, the load order is already altered by BOSS: As you can see, SM is green, and when I checked there were no data conflicts. EDIT: okay I think I found the culprit, it's Dark UI. When I have both enabled, Oblivion will not start. Something to do with enhantments xml. Anyone know a fix for this? EDIT2: Okay fixed the Dark UI thing by overwriting the xml and archive invalidating. Now a new problem occurs when I try to install the compatibility plugin for DR 5. I have DR 5 hotfixed, esp cleaned, and BOSS load ordered, but even then the SM DR plugin causes the crash. Though the SM plugin states clearly it's compatible with DR 5 AND 6 :( What do I do?
-
So that when I sell or pick up more stacks of more than 10, I don't have to manually slide the slider :) Also, I have BOSS for sorting order, that's not a problem. I'm interested in *activation* order, because certain mods might overwrite others, and I want to know the most stable way to activate these mods.
-
When doing the TES4Edit I accidentally checked all the mod groups. The guide says never do that, am I screwed forever? Also, this was before I activated any mods, but I did install OBSE, Pluggy, etc. As far as check boxes go they were just these: Unofficial patches and Official DLC pluggins. If this screwed me how do I revert the changes lol...
-
Guys I've finally done it... after literally a day of downloading mods, I've finished (most) of my list! Now before I begin activating via OBMM, I hope you guys can take a look and give me some advice on *activation* order. I know not all the mods will be compatible, some will need to overwrite others, so an activation order will do me wonders! Also don't feel the need to provide a complete order, you can ignore most of the quest addons, just let me know what order the combat and gameplay enhancing mods should be activated in. EDIT: 2 quick question, if I want to play with RBP, do I need to disable Cobl's race packs? It's all kinda confusing to me because I have exactly 1 week modding experience. Also, with RBP I don't want or need the extra races, but I only installed the full version because it was OMOD ready and more convenient, what should I do to install only the modified default race/birthsign settings? And thanks tesnexus for helping me with all my incessant chirping!
-
I've been following this guide and all have gone smoothly. I'm sooo happy all my OBMM mods have been GREEN so far! I just ran into a tiny hiccup though. I feel safer installing Deadly Reflex 5. The guide suggests I install the Mounted Combat OBSE before Deadly Reflex. The Mounted Combat OBSE enables full horse combat, but doesn't Deadly Reflex 5 do the same thing? Should I install both or just Deadly Reflex, even though the guide tells me to install and activate both. EDIT: Guide also tells me to install Cobl and RBP. I'm afraid they will conflict because they both have race changing components. Should I install both or is there a way to disable Cobl's race changing effects. Thank you.

O.O reallly?? OMG can you tell me the download link? I didn't think this thing existed!
-
Thank you very much sir, I shall attempt to follow these instructions! And if I fail again, I'll just go crawl into fetal position and suck my thumb until I get the courage to try again.
-
I've given up, there are so many sites with incomplete instructions. Frick I've even had to reinstall Wrye Bash 3 times because of outdated and incompatible links. I read everything on http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html, but it doesn't even mention I need to install the unofficial patches, BOSS, OBMM, OBSE, OBGE before that??? Why is it so hard to write instructions? I followed their instructions to a tee at first, only to realize I have to restart because I need those utilities too! But I also really want to try these mods, great feedback right? I mean I can't imagine how more than 10 people got it to work but okay, good quality is good quality, even if it's masked by terrible instructions. Please can someone help me install FCOM? This past week I probably reinstalled a clean copy of Steam Oblivion GOTY all DLC 159178234 times. I've installed one last time a clean copy, I have done NOTHING to this copy, no patches, no utilities, I didn't even dare open the folder should I commit some terrible sin, because opening the folder was not in any DIRECTIONS! Sigh I really want to vent, but please can someone give me a detailed, step by step guide on installing FCOM... onto a clean, unaltered copy of oblivion?
-
The installation is impossible!! Okay, I just need to follow directions, but the directions say install FCOM on clean oblivion, when do I install the unofficial patches? Okay so I read the thread here on nexusforums and a reply said I need to install things like BOSS, OBMM, OBGE, Pluggy(whatever that is), and WRYE BASH before installing FCOM. So before I attempt to install this game for the last time, can someone who has FCOM verify exactly what else I need to install before FCOM?

OMOD Conflict Report for RR: [RealisticLeveling 1.13.omod] (major conflict) Data file menus\levelup_menu.xml already exists - CRC mismatch. The new file is different from the old. - Data file owned by darkuid_darn_16_omod_version-11280.omod I checked Danified's page, instructions for resolving the issue states: 4. Custom options (custom_files folder) 4.1: If you're using AF/KCAS/Realistic Leveling for leveling, copy KCAS_levelup_menu.xml to "Data\menus". Remove the KCAS_ prefix. Set the "_KCAS" setting in stats_config.xml to &true;. I tried to do as he asks, but I cannot find the custom_files folder, the KCAS_levelup_menu.xml in "Data\menus" and I'm not sure I understand his instructions entirely. Also the data conflict and the instructions do not match. I'm no modding expert, but I can follow instructions very well. Unfortunately I can't in this case because the files don't seem to exist. EDIT: also cannot find the stats_config.xml, and not sure what setting to &true means. Thanks! EDIT: Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but can Realistic Leveling be used with Elys Uncapper with no problems or detriments?

Thanks guys, anyone else can help me fill in the blanks?

I have steam version of GotY, so all DLCs Blank means I know of none, 1 means it's the only one I know, and multiple means I can't decide Combat -Melee: Deadly Reflex, Duke Patrick SCA Combat -Ranged: Eagle Eye, Duke Patrick Combat Archery -Magic: Supreme Magicka (not Midas Magic, too overpowered), -Assassin-esque immersion: A Brotherhood Renewed -Dual Wielding: Seph DW Core Mechanics -Default Races/Birthsigns Reworked(I don't mean new races): -Leveling: Realistic Leveling(since their update I thought it's very good) -Stealth: Stealth Overhaul -Alchemy: Advanced Alchemy -Horses: Horse Management(looks very promising!) -Crime and Law: Reneer's Guard Overhaul -Inventory management: DarkUI wz_inventory -Weight, fatigue(more realistic, but not more annoying): World -More equipment, arms, armour: -Monsters: MMM -New areas, dungeons, camps, etc: Elsweyr Desert -Quests(whether just quest packs or coupled with addons, especially assassin-esque ones): Interface -UI: Darnified Dark UI -Minimap: Minimap -Any utilities big or small: keychain, A to Take All, (welcome any other suggestions) Immersion: don't know of much, any suggestions are helpful, (though I don't need graphics overhauls, care more about gameplay) I'm looking for mods that don't stray too far from the essence of Oblivion(big reason I don't prefer Midas Magic and FCOM), adds to realism and immersion, help improve balance and gameplay, are made by professionals, are stable and either up-to-date or in a complete/final state, and finally any mods that add to the assassin flavor is appreciated(and yeah I'm reading lists from List of Lists) Need not mention purely graphical mods as I find the graphics are okay, care more about gameplay anyway Can you help me choose, find alternatives, or just fill in the blanks? Thanks very much for all the help so far, I'm gonna update this so people don't have to post the same things again.
