I tried to do it myself and replaced the flare texture for the candle lantern with a blank one. It works and i put it in a mod you can try out https://easyupload.io/bq7jqz. This is not an ideal solution though, since the flare is eliminated and not tweaked as such that when a character model is infront of it, it does not show.

Witchers, as the title already says, the candle lantern could use a glare flare fix in NG. It shines through the player model. Would really appreciate if someone can turn off flare for the candle lantern. Thank you. So long. edit: glare
