  1. I have figured out a few ways to align pretty much anything inside build mode. through the map, into pre built walls etc. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3435155-essential-time-saving-building-exploitstricks/ is one
  2. I had to remove about 8 lvls because i got too many when i done a massive settlement build.
  3. In this video I'll show you how to: 1, Build through any part of the existing or player built world/map. 2, Use doors in custom door frames and entrances. 3, Some advanced tips on how to lift objects into the air using custom made tools. https://youtu.be/IIYQJfvNAjA Making custom doors is easy: 1, Build a door frame 2, Place a door in the frame 3, Delete the door frame and the door will be floating. 4, Place an object like a spiked pole very near the door so you can lift the door with it. 5, hold e on the spiked pole to lift them both and you can position it in your custom built frames Trying to Build through the existing world can become a real problem. using this method you can place items literally anywhere with out any conflicting collisions. here is how: 1, Use a pole to lift the object you want to place through the map 2, While holding both objects (make sure the object is green not red), Open the console with the ` key (Next to 1). 3, Click on the object you want to place through the map to make it active for the console command 4, Type Disable, then press enter, then type Enable, then press enter. 5, exit console mode. Now your still restricted by the depth and range of the pole but your main objects clipping position is locked in place where it was disabled, so it can be easily placed any where with out conflict. This is advanced and you might need to watch the first video I put out showing you why and how to lift objects with a pole. If your like me and you use poles to lift objects into the air, this tip can save time levering objects higher by resetting the poles depth by increasing the objects size in the console: 1, Grab a pole in build mode 2, Enter the console 3, click on the held pole to select it in console mode 4, type Setscale 2 (this will set the object to size 2, set the vale as ".07" and it will reduce in size. Now the object is bigger you can lift more with it. In the video I also show you how to get around the camera freaking out because your holding such a giant pole.
  4. I added a video showing some of my tricks and workflow while building, i havent had any problems with clipping and can get objects in any space with out too many time consuming problems.
  5. Hopefully these tips will help make life easier with the clipping and layering of objects. I have a video coming too, the workflow is really fast. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3405395-new-building-methods-no-clipping-and-floating-objects/
  6. This method works almost like it was an intentional feature to remove clipping on some or all grouped buildings. I figured this out after a lot of pissing around with no clip mode and resetting the build area with fast traveling etc, I finally come up with this quick method to smartly remove any clipping. If your not already building with this method your wasting a lot of time! can be used in conjunction with other no clip methods. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-bAl3SZCbw ------ Remove clipping- Objects or grouped objects: Here are the steps to remove clipping on certain objects or grouped objects: (Please let me know if this needs a video tutorial) Activate no clipping mode in the console Press ` then type tcl. You are now in no collision/clip mode, and any item you build, pick up and cancel, or re-position and drop will have its clipping temporarily disabled until you re-activate it by exiting no clipping (tlc) mode. To quickly reset clipping all objects clipping just activate tlc then exit console then activate it again immediately after. (I have a script in my Xbox controller profile that resets it in 2sec.)Ok so that's the basics, there are some things that get it running smoother: In tcl mode you will be able to fly in any direction making building a lot easier and I highly suggest you be in 1st person view. You need to make sure you remove the clipping on all objects in a wires path if you want it to connect. building small floors is a great way to build a scaffolding type temporary surface to build on and if you need a higher one try placing the stairs with a platform, and build from that.------- Floating objects- Safely delete foundation blocks without their attached objects: If you want to build high with no clipping or make objects float: First remove clipping on all objects in the immediate build area. Build a concrete block and go as high as you need, build on top of it as desired. SAFELY DELETE AND SAVE BEFORE USING: Press `and open console, click on the object you want to disable/delete and then type disable and press enter. This will remove the foundation block and all objects will be floating. Tcl wont toggle anymore until you fix it and to fix it, you need to open the console then double click any 1 object to deselect all objects in console mode, then tcl will be operating again as normal.------- Extras: I'm working on a decent Xbox controller profile that already allows simultaneous keyboard controller use and features for build mode that incorporate a lot of the build tricks I have come up with over the last week, I'll release it if people show interest: Floating objects, auto clipping switch, button assisted intricate positioning of objects, add item scripts and god mode assigned to buttons plus lots more. I much prefer building with a controller the joysticks are amazing for fine tuning. I'm looking for a highly motivated and obsessive build team who strive for quality. Please message me if you know of a good team in need of a skill level designer, I do up scaled textures, level design/building and audio sfx and dialog voicing. I'll be uploading some vids of my other intricate build techniques in the near future if this thread gets any attention. Please let me know of any build tricks you have got so i can let others know via this post.
