  1. Waaaay too many mysogynists (did I spell that right?) around. I'm very disappointed in my fellow males at times like this. I don't often get trolled out of games, as I usually do pretty average (kd of about 1:1 in shooters, I usually just get lost in the middle of the crowd), but it has happened a few times. It really affects some games more than others, though. For some reason, it seems like more obscure games have more mature communities. Perhaps it's because the majority of idiots are also impatient dolts with the attention span of field mice, and most impatient dolts just cluster to the big, new game releases without knowing about or tracking down less publicized or older releases. True or not, it often seems that the most well known games attract the most childish idiots.

I'd like any woman who's reading this right now to know- not all men are colossal a-holes. Please don't judge us by the lowest common denominator or our gender. Perhaps if we all just ignore them, they won't be able to breed, or replicate, or whatever it is that soulless, inhuman husks do to procreate, and they'll die out in a few generations.

  2. Red Faction; Guerilla. NOT Red Faction; Armageddon. Guerilla is an open-world third person shooter with a heavy emphasis on blowing things up. It doesn't have a good story, or character interaction. What it does have, however, are many, many realistically destructable vehicles and buildings. You play as a rebel who fights to kick an evil corporation off of mars. . .and by fight, I mean you blow a lot of things up and drive a lot of vehicles (and the occasional tank or mech) through walls.

Get it if you want to cause lots of carnage. Skip it if you want something more than blowing a ton of things up.

  3. I bought it on Steam recently. No graphical bugs that I can see, with an AMD gpu. I played a bit of it and it ran well, though for some reason my frame rate dies when I walk under a waterfall. . .

I haven't played it much, since I got back into Dragon Age Origins, but it's been fun so far. Reminds me a little of the old King's Field games.

  4. Really looking forward to this game. I bought Dark Souls for the PS3, played about 1/3 of the way through it, and then quit when I heard that a pc version might be made. I quit because literally the only thing that stopped Dark Souls from being a perfect game, in my opinion, was the framerate. It got down to about 10 for me, notably in Blight Town. So if there was a chance that I'd eventually be able to play Dark Souls with a more stable frame rate, I didn't want to spoil any more surprises. I was overjoyed and stunned when I heard that the petition had worked. I never expected that.

When I signed the petition, I wasn't expecting a good port. This is the first time in history that a gaming petition has worked, as far as I know. And it wasn't a huge company with money to burn (like EA) that listened to the fans and took a chance, it was little From Software- a minute developer that almost didn't even release Demon's Souls outside of Japan, and has never even made a pc game before. Their games have never sold very well, but I've always found them fun and original, so I'm glad they finally have some commercial success. All I wanted out of it was Dark Souls on the pc was a higher frame rate, and that seems to be what I'll be getting. (Dark Souls was capped at 30 on consoles as well, but it got much lower in some places.) Its graphics are already good, and it already has no load times after the main menu. All in all, impressive given the low system requirements. From Software must be using some fel form of black magic to optimize Dark Souls so well.

As said, I already bought Dark Souls, but I'll be buying it again for the pc the day it releases. (Provided it isn't broken, buggy, and unplayable.) I'm not a fan of GFWL, but I'll live with it if it means I can play Dark Souls on the pc.

  5. I'm looking to create a mod which will add the player character to the necromancer faction. However, I don't know where to start. If anyone could direct me to a modding tutorial that relates to adding the dragonborn permanently to factions (no console commands, for example), I'd much appreciate it. Sadly, I've searched around and I haven't been able to find any tutorials like that.
  6. Ah, wow. Bethesda making an mmo. (Okay, maybe not bethesda, but a Elder Scrolls MMo is being made regardless.) Sucks to see another developer sell its soul. At least I still have Biowa. . .wait, no. EA destroyed them. Well, Pandemic is. . .oh, wait, they're gone. Well, okay Valve is still here. . .but they haven't made a game in forever, least not that I know about.

FROM software, you are officially my favorite developer. Please, never change.

  7. I have over 100 mods, all installed manually, installing news ones all the time, and I rarely crash. (Maybe once or twice a month of solid playing?) My framerate is a stable 45, without any stutters or glitches. But then, most of my mods are texture mods or minor tweaks (such as faster animals)- which typically don't cause problems for anyone, given sufficient vram.
  8. Doesn't it need to be one of the last things loaded? I had a mod to change one NPC and I also had that general NPC mod called UFO. I had to have UFO load first, then the the mod for the one guy.

    I'll test it out. Thanks.

  9. I've been editing some npcs in the Skyrim Creation Kit. Simple stuff- most recently, I changed the appearance of Borgakh. I checked the esp and moved it to the top of my load order. However, she still has her old appearance. I had the same issue with Delvin Mallory, Illia, Farkas, and Shahvee. How can I fix this?
  10. If I could be a mage, yes. If not, no- because the lives of non-mage commoners seem to suck, but the life of a mage would probably be pretty awesome. I mean, I can heal myself, light up things with a spell, charm the wenches. . . ahem.

Yes, anyway, I'd go to Skyrim if I could be a mage.

  11. I know this question is probably stupid, but it needs to be asked.

Could Merrill, from Dragon Age II, ever be ported to Skyrim? I know the Witcher pretty much allows people to rip its resources for use in mods, but Bioware and the Dragon Age series I have no idea about.

It'd be awesome if somehow, someone figured out a legal way to get at least a replica of Merrill into Skyrim, considering she's the best character in any game, ever.

  12. They confused me at first too. Don't worry about the Fomod files unless you use some kind of mod manager. If you install your files manually, (by copying and pasting or dragging files) just delete Fomod. If you don't install manually, then I have no idea- because I install manually and never use Fomod.

"Strings" is the name of a folder that goes inside your data folder. Just copy/overwrite things to it as you would meshes or textures.

Hope that helped. Good luck modding. :)

  13. I'm not talking about the amulet of mara, but rather, the wedding dress and all that. How do I go about getting the wedding dress for a marriage? I haven't been able to find it in the game, and my follower did not wear it during our wedding. (They didn't magically have it added to their inventory, as I thought they would.)
  14. In the creation kit, when I right click on a cell name and then click edit, a dialogue box appears. One of the things on it allows me to adjust water type and height for that cell- but the number always gets reset to 0. What do I need to do to adjust water for the cell?
  15. I've been working on adding sewers to Skyrim lately, but they have a glitch which I think is related to water in the sewers. When you run in sewers, your screen flickers blue as though you are constantly going above and below water. However, the water only goes up to the player's ankles. I don't have this issue, but many people who download my mod do.

I am using water objects, not the global water settings, btw.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

  16. Not sure if this goes here. If it doesn't, please tell me where to go with my question.

Anyway, I'm modding an interior cell. I need to align segments of walls- yet I can't, because I find it very difficult to line things up to the pixel. Is there an easier way to, for example, get wall chunks to snap together? Any help would be appreciated.

  17. I liked the sewers in Oblivion. I like the ratway in Riften. There are already sewer grates in the cities in Skyrim. Would some kind modder like to build networks of sewers beneath the largest towns in Skyrim? Not only would it add more dungeons to explore, but it would increase city realism. Plus, they could perhaps add alternate ways for stealthy characters to enter towns. It wouldn't be very hard to do- to my knowledge, making new interior spaces is one of the easiest things to do in the creation kit.
