  1. Hello. I appreciate if I can get some help with achieving a small script that will apply some permanent effect shader to the player as well as NPCs. I've been spending the last while trying to create a shader script/spell that does this and well, it's come with some mixed as well as unoptimal results. To preface, I'm a novice when it comes to the GECK, so I may need a bit of handholding to understand some of this stuff. I've tried a couple of scripts (such as trying OnLoad and ScriptEffectStart/Update) as well as spell options such as setting the "FX Persist" flag on when creating a base effect, though it doesn't really seem to work on my end. I've tried both object and effect scripts and I think the object script might be the best course of action, since I can control what NPCs can use the shader. In my experience, the script below works, though from what I've researched, it will call that function every frame which will eventually tank performance and crash the game. scn aaaShaderScript Begin Gamemode PMS aaaMyShaderEffect END It works, but it can be better obviously. I don't necessarily know how to create an effective shader script that will apply and reapply said shader. So can anyone help me with designing such a script? Thanks for reading.
  2. Hello people of the Nexus Community. I am experiencing a problem with the GECK designed for Fallout New Vegas. I was doing some basic tinkering with the GECK, such as modifying stats for weapons, altering properties, and the like. However, this isn't the issue. The issue is that when I had checked my loaded data files, it showed that Old World Blues was loaded for whatever reason. I said "Hm. That's very odd," and closed the program. Reloading it, I did a few minor edits to an ESP. Checking it, the OWB ESM was loaded once more. I closed the program, checked administrator mode for the Compatibility option, just to make sure that something wasn't iffy. The ESM loaded up once more. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, how did you go about fixing said issue? Simplified post: If I were to modify/create an ESP file, OWB loads up as one of the required masters for the ESP. How do I fix that? EDIT -- I found out why. The files I was trying to mod, rely on OWB as a master. Silly me. Moderators, if you would please remove this thread, I would be most grateful. Thanks.
  3. I recently installed Fallout 3, and I've been having a large problem. When going through the beginning squence of the game (beeing born), the game at first unscripted, but later adds animations. When Dad asks "Are you a boy, or a Girl?" The script doesn't appear until several seconds later. After choosing any choice, Dad goes on his little spiel on what gender you have chosen. The problem is, the game doesn't progress any further. It still plays, but nothing happens afterward. No scrpits, no nothing. I have a save file, right before the G.O.A.T test. The test will not begin, even after I sit down in the desk. Can anyone help?
  4. Now how would I add the sound effect to the G.E.C.K? Is that possible?
  5. There could be a mod conflict. Deactivate all mods, and enable them 1 by 1 until you find out which mods are conflicting.
  6. Today I wanted to import some weapon sounds from Fallout 3 to New Vegas, but using the G.E.C.K doesn't work.. Can anyone help me?
  7. I have the CaliberX.esm enabled and the Weapon overhaul.esp enabled. Only The Shrapnel mod crashes my game as soon as it starts. Can anyone help me?
  8. Today I start up Fallout: New Vegas, it's completely fine until I enter The Strip. Everyone who is walking, is half-way into the animation and moonwalks across the terrain. Heck even some of my companions do it too. As well, they don't even have attacking animations anymore.. Is there a fix or do I have to modify something?
  9. It hasn't for me. I have Project Nevada, and hasn't ruined the experience at all.
  10. Well I downloaded the F:NV G.E.C.K (The new one) on the bethsoft website and it aforementioned pretty much crashes. My game is installed in C:Games, and my game has the latest patch, 1.4.0.525. The G.E.C.K is installed in a folder on my Desktop as well, if that helps.
  11. Well I just got the G.E.C.K and Windows Immediately says it's not working and says it won't work.. "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close and notify you if a solution is available"
