  1. Don't forget the other exception of "Destroy the Dark Brotherhood", although then again I like to think Cicero, Babette, or another unnamed assassin that escaped the carnage still ended up doing that thing at the end (no spoilers).
  2. I like your thinking. The idea of an "entity" had not occurred to me; perhaps something on par with Padomay and Anu, or perhaps some kind of divine manifestation of both/either. It is all just theories, ideas, etc, interesting to think about but all very, very unlikely. Still, CHIM and the Godhead are considered canon I believe, and this really isn't far beyond those ideas.
  3. Might as well use my creative energies on something other than tin foil hats and alien abductions.
  4. By Ann Marie, I assume you mean the Champion of Cyrodiil? Interesting idea, I'm almost glad you necroed my thread.
  5. I'm sure others have had to deal with similar issues, and I would appreciate any and all help.
  6. I decided to come back to Oblivion after a long hiatus and now it won't load at all. Well, I spent the past six hours fiddling with it, and managed to learn both how to successfully use TES4Edit (which I used to clean a number of my mods) as well as why my bashed patches weren't working. Anyway, I kept crashing at the loading screen before the Main Menu, so I began narrowing it down. Took me a couple hours (since there were several), but I thought I had the problem solved; two of my mods, Underdark and Black Marsh (both of which were relatively new in my mod list) were the culprits. I don't really care about them. Then I discovered that the crash was also caused by one of my beloved mods, Better Cities; I uninstalled and reinstalled the OMOD, but to no avail. I used BOSS to sort everything, and even had a Bashed Patch made (finally learned how to use it), but I still get crashes with Better Cities on. I refuse to play Oblivion without Better Cities. Call me spoiled. I don't care. I don't know what the problem is, please help.
  7. I don't have that kind of money at the moment, and if I did I'd probably save it. Well that sucks, maybe when they have another sale I'll try to find one of those minority laptops which doesn't have it's graphics card integrated.
  8. What kind of good gaming laptops are out there? Also, I want my laptop to be multi-purpose -- so I want something that's good as a work laptop as well. Although I think if it's just a good video card/RAM we're worried about, then it shouldn't matter -- right? Damn, those people must have lied to me. I asked the Best Buy people which computers would be cheap and able to run Skyrim well. It's a good laptop, but not for Skyrim.
  9. Oh lol, mine was about $140. It's really good too (relatively). Why can't graphics cards be changed out in laptop? I figured it was just something that you could go have someone remove and replace, unless the sizes are different.
  10. I have a laptop. Would that be a problem? I just want one that's cheap and better than what I have (as there would be no point in buying a new one if it's worse than my old one). But yeah you're right, it'd be better to invest in a high end one, especially if I want this laptop to carry me to Elder Scrolls 6.
  11. Oh... I see. Lol that explains a lot, such as why my computer is high end but relatively poor on gaming. It runs Oblivion and Fallout 3 pretty good though. Just New Vegas and Skyrim aren't so good. So, any suggestions to a cheap alternative/replacement? And how expensive would it be to get the card replaced/installed, should I find a cheap, good new one?
  12. I do not use texture or graphics mods. Thanks for all the replies. Don't abandon me yet -- I'll go check the GPU. Also, I tend to play on medium as far as graphics go. I found something: IntelĀ® HD Graphics 4000 I don't know anything about computers so I don't know. All I know was that this computer was supposed to come with 4GB of RAM.
  13. It's been hidden for quite a while. Kind of worrisome.
  14. Well there is this http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34829/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D34829&pUp=1 but that looks more like a cheat akin to what you were trying to avoid. There's also this thread. See the 2nd post down. If you use that strategy, hacking might be easier. http://www.gameskyrim.com/any-hacking-mods-worth-using-t63787.html
  15. So not exactly word for word, but I just shortened some things for time: IntelĀ® Core i3-3110M CPU @ 2.40 GHz RAM: 4.00 GB (3.82 usable) Type: 64 bit OS, x64-based processor
  16. Well it's not letting me copy and paste the info, so I'll try to type what I can word for word.
  17. I'm trying to get them, it's just I have to jump through hoops to get them. Stupid Microsoft. Just wait a few more minutes and I'll have them.
  18. Simply put, if I use the console to toggle grass off (tg) the game gets around 20 fps -- sometimes 40 if I'm looking at an interior's wall that has no objects or anything in it (although that's rare; stick with 20). Outdoors however, it gets around 4-10 fps with grass on, assuming I'm facing grass. Toggle off -- back to 20 instantly. I'm even using a low-poly grass mod, but it's not cutting it. Suggestions? Or just keep toggling?
  19. We need a mod that lets us destroy Rivet City. Or something. Or even just have it so it's blown up/derelict. I'm going to be starting a Zombie Apocalypse playthrough and wanted there to be as few towns as possible.
  20. I know it sucks that I have to do this, but the lag is unbearable and I'll get used to it. Indoors or out, I usually get around 20 FPS -- 30 indoors, if I'm in a small interior. Outdoors, it's more like...12 FPS. According to Fraps. It drops to 4 FPS at times as well. I use a low poly grass mod too (it does make the grass long, like up to my character's head, but regardless of whether I use the low medium or high modules it is supposed to cut the fps down), and even that's not cutting the mustard. I use "tg" (toggle grass) in the console, which boosts me up to 18-20 fps range, but I have to do it for every cell and every time I open/close my start menu. It's annoying, and I honestly would rather go without grass than put up with this anymore. Any way to permanently disable it or something? Unless someone has a better suggestion.
  21. I tend to jump between these four (with random bouts of Medieval 2 Total War, but we'll exclude that one). Simply, I'm getting more interesting in playing a zombie-survival mod/playthrough with one of these, and not just a short one either. I'm getting tired of Fallout 3, as that is the latest of them that I have been playing. I just got through with Mothership Zeta Crew and several of it's add-ons, but now it's just not holding my attention. I think the location is great -- the ruins of DC, the danger of FWE and MMM together, calling in reinforcements with TSC Air Support and all that nonsense. There is Zombie Apocalypse mod, but...eh. I think I've just had too much Fallout 3. There's New Vegas, but I've tried playing it's zombie mods to no avail, and that's my fault really. I have Freeside Open, so I can't get to the starter for it. Plus, New Vegas was what I played before I drifted over to Fallout 3, so eh. If there is some new or interesting quest/gameplay changer, I might go back, but not now. Oblivion, as I've played before, has a really good zombie mod, 28 Days, and it's well developed. I like the animations and graphics of it (yes they are notoriously bad, but whatever). The only problem is that there aren't many options to actually interact with the game world; simply put, it's an old game, the oldest one out of the four, and there's not much to do with that. There IS Skyrim, and it's got the most choice for Zombie mods, the most extra mods, better graphics, etc. The only thing, and hear me out on this: the havoking for dead bodies is really bad. Everything is just so...stiff. It's not like Oblivion or the Fallouts where the bodies contort oddly; corpses in skyrim act like they have superglue in their joints and concrete running through their veins. It's just nasty looking, and doesn't feel like what I'm used to. Plus, there's the issue of FPS; I can build my fortress with Tundra Defense, fight over hordes of enemies, etc, but the crashes and lag are most frequent on Skyrim, especially with bigger mods running like Warzones. I know, I should shut them off if it's killing my computer, but they are what make the game so fun. Finally, Skyrim is kind of boring as a location. I might try Tropical Skyrim or something, though; there's not much that anyone here can suggest outside of landscape overhauls anyway. So what'll it be?
  22. Simply put, the GTS allows you to travel around the world. Currently, it's not much more than a modder's resource, although it does let you go by boat to visit Rotterdam, Casablanca, Australia, and India. It seems like a lot could be done with it; it frees up an already-congested DC Wasteland, allowing for a wide variety of mods to be produced. However, it seems as though no mod utilizes it. Are there any other mods that use the GTS? I only know of the Iceland mod at the moment which has an option for GTS.
  23. FWE and WMK, I'm pretty sure have a patch. Just search under "FWE patch". There is also a series of compatibility patches, which I believe is called "FOIP". You'd have to look around, but they're definitely there.
  24. Mothership Zeta Crew http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/8747/? It is probably the best mod ever made. Ever. Of all time. Because not only is it a massive and intriguing story with incredible rewards and game play, but it also has quite a few 3rd party add-ons. When the update finally comes, you can bet your butt that the Nexus servers are going to be overwhelmed. A few features (from the "vanilla" mod, not counting add-ons) include: A trip to the moon A huge city (won't spoil it) Tons of new weapons/armors Politics Warfare Enclave Commander-style feature Special missions Well, lots of stuff. Go play it! For the add-ons, you can throw in a moonbase, texture replacers, followers, extra facilities, and more. If nothing else, the mod with addons can be quite a money sink.
  25. Are there any mods which add more to Rivet City? It doesn't really feel like a city, and hardly encompasses the true size of an aircraft carrier (in my personal opinion). I have that RC Market Expansion mod, but aside from cleanups and house mods there isn't much in the way of actual expansions (ie more decks, more people, etc).
