    The game has been updated in the mean time? Do you have any outdated mod which changes the game in respect of the "crafting"? Furthermore, are you using NMM and if yes, which version? Does Skyrim also crash when all mods are turned off?

    The 256 mods is the max for Skyrim. Use the SDK to merge some mods together to avoid that certain mods are not loaded properly due to this limit
