  1. You're not forced to be a lich, also, there is the solitude sewers..not only ravenscorn

well there is also the other issue i mentioned of lag. a lot of lag.

I have thought about something similliar, but more in the Direction of a "Testing Ground" so to speak, where at the End you battle this Uber-Mage to be able to take the Tower as your own.

I would do it myself, but I suck at Building in the CK

What do you mean testing ground ?
  2.

One of the most fun characters I ever played did nothing but use shouts. He *did* punch things until he got his first shout, but that's it. He also never wore any gear outside of jewelry, and never ever used sneak. He was basically a crazy person running around screaming at the top of his lungs. It was quite the challenge facing two dragons and a dragon priest at the same time. Also, despite his seeming insanity, he was one of the cleverest characters I've ever played. He had a fascination for traps and he used them creatively.

i love doing things like this too, roleplaying is the way to go for good fun, although i admit i havent done something as extreme.

  3. So i think it would be cool if we had a house mod that was a tower built for a necromancer character, complete with banners of the order of the black worm, it should be inhabited by skeletons.

    What i dont want:

Things like magic lights everywhere, naked girls everywhere and teleports everywhere with every room filled with dragon statues and other things of this nature, you get the point, this is why im not using Reapers tower for instance (not bashing, i respect the mod its just not my style).

It shouldnt be too big or too flashy, and it should be deep in the wilderness, i prefer the pale, the reach or falkreath holds. The theme here is a dark and gritty hideout. For textures a dark version of a fort would work, if not the normal fort textures are fine.

Alchemy table and Arcane enchanter should be included, no garden though.

Raverscorn Spire from the mod Undeath is a good example of what im talking about, i just dont want to become a Lich and for some reason the game lags a lot when im in there, about that dont fill the place with mist or a lot of candles or clutter too much, i cant tell what makes the game lag but i think those things contribute, Dawnstar Sanctuary lags a lot too in the vicinity of the night mother and i suspect its that mist , then again other interiors dont. If you know any mod like this please share the link i could not find any i liked.

  4. Play a class you never have before, roleplay a character to the fullest and get mods to fit and expand your playstyle. Also mods like Falskaar or Moonpath to Elsweyr provide new lands and content, therefore new fun !

  5. The end result is the same yes but they will try this again, they were testing the waters, they'll come up with a new system for TES VI. i worry they will make the workshop the only place to download mods somehow and then come with this paid BS again. My point is they dont really care about the modding community, they allow it because it benefits them and they know it, they've been seein how big it got and they were ready to destroy it to fill their pockets, because a market is not a community, and mods should be free. Its so stupid what they did really, but they wont stop trying we just bought some time. They were pushing armor mods as paid ffs. And then that bs they posted about this being for the modders and mods giving them next to no money, yeah because they were forced to shut it down right away and because only the most dumb paid for them in that time, but just imagine if they got money out of every mod indefinetly including small ones, they know the profit would be big (or not, it depends, but theres plenty of 14 year olds with their parents credit card willing to sign up for this bs because they dont know better, i cant make up my mind wether this would fail or the fools would make it work for the greedy) without lifting a single finger they just didnt realize we arent mindless drones apparently.

  6.

I agree, but for Skyrim paid mods are not going to happen again since it was a complete disaster.

However I have this strong feeling that it will creep up again with the next game Bethesda launches.

See, maybe I'm being naive, but I actually have more faith in Bethesda. They may not be the best at QA, but they have shown that they actually listen when their fans shout at them, they could have easily cranked out more horse armour for Skyrim but they didn't. I'll grant you Hearthfire was could be argued to be only a few steps above horse armour since it's stuff the modding community could and had already done, but it did add actual content to the game and it's stuff the console players wouldn't have access to, plus I have a lot of fun role playing with it so it's okay in my book. Point is I think Bethesda won't be trying this stunt again. Valve, on the other hand, I don't doubt at all they'll try this with other games, maybe one whose community I participate in maybe not, we'll burn that bridge when Valve tries to cross it, though.

Why do you think they listen to their "fans" - i hate that term, players is more accurate - and removed this ? out of the good of their hearts ? They knew this would cost them a lot, they realize people can pirate stuff, no one needs to pay for a game to play it, we pay for it because we believe its worth the price and the devs are worthy of our money, essentially we are gifting them that money because the option to play for free exists. Im not condoning piracy but this are hard facts. So they would rather keep their "fans" buying their games than have everyone hate them, how many comments like "i will never spend a single penny on your games again" have you heard in response to this ? i dont think they are empty words, they want to play the next game sure, but they can still do that. They need your support, remember that, and also remember what they are, a company. I respect them for their games and i think they deserve every penny they make, but never forget what they are and what their ultimate goal is, im not saying the goal of that one guy who works at texturing is to squeeze every dollar out of anything and everything he can, no, im saying thats the goal of the company and those who make decisions like this. Dont ever believe companies care about anything except their wallet, even if it hurts the entire humankind (dont mean gaming companies here lol), this is proven.

  7. Here's what i think. How many of you would pay for a mod ? I assume not many, unless you have a lot of money to essentially throw away and dont think mods should be free, because by buying a mod you are saying you think mods should not be free and the community should not be a community but a market driven by greed like all markets. Games are different, they are a complete product, Skyrim has hundreds of hours of gameplay, and still, do you buy just about any game ? would you make a mod with a new land as big as Skyrim and as many quests ? with the same quality in writing, world building, etc. Or would you release an armor mod and expect to make money of it ? Do you think other modders would help you if they arent making money ? do you think the sense of community would prevail ? i dont.

Essentially what im saying is everyone would work against each other, people would release crap and charge for it to make quick money and not many people would buy mods anyway so the modding community would DIE. Transforming into a market, and it would fail too, i bet it would fail miserably.

To those who think paid mods = better mods. I dont think so, modders who make great mods work hard and put everything into their work, that is why they make great mods, money would not change that, it would not improve their skills.

And those who believes Bethesda was doing this for the modders, seriously ? ...... seriously ?

    Thats my opinion.

  8. Hey Wraithofdoom

    I've PM'd you the link.

After installing the mod I mentioned earlier, you just need to drop the music folder from the link into your "Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data" folder and click yes to overwrite.

Note that the mod above gives you the option to included vanilla music also. Just make sure you have the relevant esp file ticked in NMM.

    Enjoy!

downloading right now, thanks a lot man you've been really helpfull

  9. regarding the trials, i think thats great but it would be better if Malacath himself appointed you this trials instead of some kind of orc council in Orsinium. It doesnt make much sense imo that orcs would have to go get an official permit to lead a stronghold i figure they just fight for it and then they just lead it. Now a n orsinium land mod would be amazin, but thats for another topic.
