I am at my wits' end with this and I'm so darn fed up with all these time-consuming reinstallations. I'm posting here because I've tried everywhere else and still I've found no working solution, even on the Wiki. I'm hoping to God somebody here will be able to help me and if so, I would be eternally grateful. Seriously, I'm so tired of this. I just want to make pretty elves. On my first installation of the toolset, I tried to install the SQL server 2005 as part of the built-in installer and the database creating part failed so I got the "unable to connect to database" fail message on startup of the toolset. Then I uninstalled SQL server 2005 fully using Revo uninstaller to remove leftover registry items etc, and reinstalled SQL server 2005 about 3 times, each time getting the database connection failure error. So I uninstalled it again and found a walkthrough on these forums which instructed me to get the 2008 version and service pack 1. (the post by nezroy, about half way down the page: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/177587-toolset-help-required/) The guide then instructed me to fire up SQL Management Studio, which I didn't have. I don't know if the guide assumed it installed alongside the other programs, or what. But I didn't have it. So I installed it with much kerfuffling and difficulty, and started it up. I couldn't connect to the database in the Management Studio, and the toolset still won't start. Call me persistent as the number of times I have reinstalled each of these programs now due to them not working for some reason or another is just getting ludicrous now. If ANYBODY can get the toolset to work for me I would shower them in love and praise and thanks and niceness. Additional info.: OS: Windows 7, 32 bit Logged into administrator account. Logs in the SQL program folder thing say some stuff about stuff and numbers and words and then this at the end "2013-06-12 16:15:04.78 spid7s SQL Server is terminating in response to a 'stop' request from Service Control Manager. This is an informational message only. No user action is required." I don't know if this means anything to anyone. Also, bear in mind my computer skills are tragic. I don't even know what SQL server does. Many thanks. Edit: I thought it would be relevant to mention that I once had toolset installed and working perfectly on this computer in the past. I did have to do some kerfuffling about with SQL servers and blah blah computer stuff, but it worked. Then I uninstalled Dragon Age and the toolset and now, about a year later, I'm trying to reinstall it.
