Whenever i download any mod from fallout new vegas nexus the site always crashes on me anyone know what to do ive been downloading all my mods from file planet and they just work fine but not nexus please help.

I downloaded a mod today it was the ashurs power helmet mod i got the esp file to work but not the textures i got the helmet but the textures are messed up. I dragged the texture files into the data folder to see if that was the problem and still the colors of the helmet was messed up i fallowed all of the steps to how to install fallout 3 mods for beginners because this is my first time.Also all I used was 7zip did i miss anything else I need? towards the end of the video it said just drag the texture files to the data folder so I did but still nothing, if you could really help out here id appreciate it please respond back thanks.
