  1. Its generally accepted that after 140 mods active you WILL have problems, sooner or later, somewhere with something. If you managed to get to 160 or 200 or whatever, consider yourself VERY lucky you have not experianced game breaking problems. Or maybe you have and just didn't notice or assumed it was random bugs/mod conflicts.
  2. How did it ever come off? last I checked you can't get those things off without choping an arm off. 'The Pip-Boy 3000 features a biometric lock that can only be opened by either the user or a skilled technician.' 'Despite Stanley in Fallout 3 saying Pip-Boys can't be removed, at the start of Fallout: New Vegas Doc Mitchell gives you his old one (meaning he must have had it removed). '
  3. As someone who has written a reader/writter for ESP file format, I can tell you it is NOT a good idea to simpley remove a master subrecord, because every formid in the mod will be incorrect on save. It takes a TON of code to do that correctly and I highly doubt TESSNIP does that when you manualy edit the record. I know FONVedit did it properly when using 'Clean masters' (But NOT when manualy removing the master as provided in the OP) as it would actualy check if you had used any resources of each master and removed the master if none was found and then renumbered all records and more importantly all references in all records to point to the new FormID's I am not sure if TES5edit can do it properly yet as it basiclly requires having every single record in the mod decoded to update the references in each record, and may or may not work depending on what records and subrecords your overriding. Skyrim is much newer and may not be 100% decoded. (Fallout new vegas was never fully decoded, but it was very close)
  4. You need to regenerate object LOD whenever you move, add or remove *ANY* object that has 'use distant lod' set (or use tree lod?) To regenerate object LOD you first need to delete the old object LOD too, or geck just goes "hey its already done, nothing for me to do!" Fallout 'binds' objects to there LOD based on where they are and the order of objects(?). If they arnt exactly where LOD says they should be and in the right order, fallout gets confused and no longer knows when to display the real object and when to display the LOD. (note, totaly seperate from terrain LOD and object lod only takes a few seconds, it also generates a new LOD texture atlas for the worldspace)
  5. Lots of mods are removed and/or authors banned even after *winning* File of the month. (As evident by the fact many months only have 4 or 3 winners now) Others I have seen banned 6+ months after last update of the mod out of the blue. Basicly, Nexus may ban you and/or mods at any time for any reason they wish. That they have not banned mod X for maybe violating rule Y just means.. they have not gotten around to it yet.
  6. Can't, basicly all those projectiles are 'setup' to emit light in geck, but FONV engine does not support it at all and just ignores the values in geck.
  7. Yes I see a HUGE reluctance for authors to use work that requires a seperate download. Also a huge reluctance for users to download more then 1 thing for a mod. On the other side, Authors often don't update there mods in a timely manner when the mod they are based on updates, causing conflicts and inability for people to use the latest version of that other mod. Really sucks for anyone who wants to make things that are for other authors to use: they never get used.
  8. Yea I got banned from the chat too, don't really care, I don't want to be part of any realtime chat where I can't speak my mind and where the slightest wrong (sware) word will get me permabanned from the whole website and all my mods removed. Decided it was for the best for me to stay chat banned so I don't attempt to go back and end up getting my account banned for being my 'charming' self. I doubt anyone talks about FONV in the chat anymore anyway. I have no intrest in skyrim so theres not much point in the chat for me. And least in forum posts I can go back lines and edit them before posting and OT does not generaly come up. Sometimes I type extensive posts then just not hit post, because I suspect the content might have a 1% chance at getting me banned and I really can't take that risk.
  9. Hey that's an interesting idea! ;) Maybe with those 'No banned from casino mods' have it gradualy lower your luck instead of banning you, once you win too much.
  10. How about do the opposite? Alter the script that opens the blackjack menu (Whatever it is) and have it force you luck to 5 before you enter and back to whatever it was on exit? (Or set your luck to whatever you want the difficulty level/house odds to be)
  11. ... People don't just find nif files, they are unique to a very limited number of games, incompatible between games. They are also not easy to convert to from other formats due to all the game specific data needed. if you could find some, they would be copyright or likey owned by someone else who does not want to share and not allowed on the nexus anyway.
  12. If you crank FSAA wayyy up, it becomes.. not soo aweful.. but yea I messed around with it a lot. I seem to recall it looked better on my geforce then my ATI card?
  13. Sounds to me like these sounds are not to be used in games but maybe as samples in music where they would be overlayed with other sounds and adapted, hence impossable to 'extract'?
  14. The majority of minecraft modders use Adfly links to there downloads to earn money for there mods. I doubt the nexus would allow that and hence I doubt it would attract many modders.
