  1. ^^Thanks for that really helped me out. I just subbed to him on my YouTube and on MxRPlays.
  2. Hi sorry if he featured it in an earlier video(most likely did) but I don't watch this guy regularily just sometimes when looking for new mods to try and I went through a couple of videos and couldn't see it. So hopefully you can tell me what is the armour mod being used here after about 30 sec's of video please. Any help is greatly appreciated. https://youtu.be/D6_wvr-HwbU?t=27
  3. I did not know Alienware did water cooling/is it worth the price of upgrade for silence and lower temps over air cooling? I am uprading a bit in January and I am mainly wanting to keep things cooler/quieter at the moment.
  4. BEST The Witcher 2 by a distance. Great story/characters. Plenty of choice and replay value. Excellent graphics and visuals. Good content and gameplay. 8/10 for me. Shogun 2, Just a great tactical game with top AI, tons of content and amazing graphics. 8/10 WORST MW3, just a big pile of bad game. Nothing new added to the ancient system. 4/10. LotR: War in the North. Feels like you are the B squad for the whole game, your journey lacks any feel of epicness or significance throughout. Seen the gameplay in too many other titles to kep me entertained. 3/10 MOST IMPROVED Age of Conan has came so far in the last two years that Funcom really need to be credited. 7/10 MOST DISAPPOINTING BF3, Origin servers/matchmaking made the game a chore to play online. Origin cloud storage screwed me twice on my campaign data.6/10 Skyrim. No new tech taken advantage, full of bugs(which interfere with quests/story/guilds) Slow lazy patching from the dev's. Just another port.8/10(not a bad game, just buggy/unplayable at the moment) They are my thoughts on the year in gaming. Though I have not played some games on console as I am getting a PS3 for xmas, so maybe U3/Res' 3 will be good-don't know yet. I might try the console version of Skyrim for better luck. Forgot a game.
  5. CASE- Phantom NZXT(upping to Elysium Jan'. MOBO- Gigabyte UD3-B3. CPU-i 5 2500(watercooled. GPU- GTX 570(for PhysX game use it with GTX 465 dedicated. PSU-OCZ 600wt RAM- 8GB Ripjaws@1600mhz. HDD- WD caviar 500GB/Samsung 1TB. MONITOR- AOC razer 23"(either Acer S series 27"/ASUS 23" 3D in Jan'. I made some upgrades in the summer now in January I will be adding more- I can't decide on weather the 3D gimmick outweighs the extra inches in the monitor upgrade lol.
  6. ^^Perfectly said, imo. Games should not be watered down for the console market, they should be built for the PC and to work watered down as ports for the console. Most console gamers don't understand just how out of date the PS3.360 are at the moment(most notably the gpu) This type of statement seems to be followed by a backlash of hate as most seem to think it is a dig at the consoles and not just an actual fact that they are outdated and the next wave of consoles from Sony/Microsoft have no official release or concepts yet(basically strap in for a few more years of this). DX11 is not being used as much as it should to accommodate the console markets so we are still using DX9 more than any other.(of course this can be said for a lot of PC gamers who don't upgrade their hardware and then immediately have a go at console gamers for the hardware limitations of PS3/360) Most of what the console gamers hear in the "console vs PC" threads are just vented hate toward the dev's aimed at the console gamers. PS. I also have a PS3-but just gave away my 360.
  7. I'm not sure why the ragdoll has changed. It could have been a cut back to further optimize the game because of the new graphics. Regardless, console limitations are written all over Skyrim and it's sad. Bethesda should have waited another year for the new consoles to come out before releasing Skyrim. LOL, the next Playstion and Xbox are not scheduled for next year. Yeah the animation sucks and with other PC/console cross over titles having ragdoll physics I think that eliminates the console as the problem. My personal feeling is it was an attempt by Beth' to add a more cinematic felling to the game(same for the kill move scenes) Which ultimately fail and add a sense of hand holding through the game.
  8. The Witcher 1 no contest-cos then you get to play the awesome Witcher 2
  9. Becauseno one could possibly like Morrowind or Oblivion more than Skyrim without having a memory distorted by nostaligia, right? Just like people will have the wrong opinion in the future when they like Skyrim more than TESVI. I hope an elitist mocks you in 2014 for "wearin' 'dem rose tinted glasses" for Skyrim being your favorite. Oh, but I'm sure you'll be an exception to the rule and buck this "trend." Right? Nice-Takes care him for just about anyone. I never got into Morrowind so any opinion on it would not be valid as I was playing Halo as a kid when it was out, lol. But I did play Oblivion on its original release and I liked it best because of the sense of magic the game had, Skyrim does not have that for me-and before any people say it is because I am older I smash that theory by saying how I felt it rejuvenated by TW2. Skyrim does not fill me with that feeling of limitlessness that Oblivion did, I can't get lost in this game for many reasons.
  10. Yes it changes some of your stats, did it and it set my Archery from 43-70 and my conjuration from 75-25. It changes most of your stats around.
  11. Speaking in terms of textures, I have installed almost all the "detailed" mods so far lol. I am also looking at downloading the shader mod floating around. Skyrim is not an ugly game, but it is also not a pretty game. I mean the world is large enough yes, but not large enough to excuse some of the low def' textures that really take away from the atmosphere the game works so hard to establish. Also being in the market of buying a new graphics card for 300EUR I do expect a game to take advantage of the new tech instead I can run this game on the same settings and with the same playability on my old card. So once you consider it is a 2011 title from a top developer and look at some things from 2009(sometimes even earlier) at games with lower funding and see much nicer graphics you can become easily peed off. Personally I am only bother by the limited lighting/shading and the smoke/mist/fog elements that just rest in front of your eyes like big blobs of cotton candy lol. But the modders are working at it and Beth' have hinted at adding DX11/10 features in the future so I am sure they will deliver. The PC market made them what they are today I don't think they will fully abandon us for the greater gains to be had on 360/PS3.
  12. This was my fear after watching people play, glad you confirmed it. I play a lot of Rift and Age of Conan-I knew what could be awaiting me behind the SW wrapping so I just skipped it. I hope the Secret World brings something new to the world of MMORPG, just like AoC before it, Funcom is one of the only developers of the genre to step out of the WoW mold.
  13. Hi all I have been playing Skyrim uninterrupted since the release(sides a few bugs). Anyway, I got up this morning, nothing on PC changed, and try to launch Skyrim(boxed retail version) from STEAM and I am receiving a dialogue box when I hit "play" on the launcher. The box reads "Failed to initialize renderer". I have tried searching for answers on google and a quick look back over some of the pages in this section of the forum but found no answers to fix it. Some have suggested it may be a GPU/GPU Driver issue. This is incorrect as I am using the latest GTX 570 driver(285.62) Also it is not a problem with the GPU as I have tested are other games working(BF3/Dead Island/Rage/TW2) and they are all working perfectly. I am only running a few mods(I have played with them before) Detailed faces, body, lips and Textures 2k. I am also not running the 4GB fix. Does anyone have a solution to this problem or any information on it? Any help appreciated. EDIT: I installed the latest BETA drivers from Nvidia and this sorted out my problem after a restart.
  14. LOL I have been invited this weekend and the last week(I think) I have not even attempted to play it yet. When I signed up I thought I would like it but now watching gameplay and the likes just don't really have any motivation for it any more.
  15. My favorite game is, and only recently, The Witcher 2. Up until its release my favorite was Resident Evil 1(but not on PC) but after TW2 I just think everything about it was great. Top characters(even down to fleeting minors) You had a sense that everyone in the game was a real person and the towns they lived in were like actual little communities. A great story with some fantastic folklore and mythology. Fun gameplay with a lot to do. But best of all was the villains. For me a great villain is someone who is not actually evil- he/she is a person who stands on the opposite side of the story to the hero. Both doing what they believe is the right thing and getting it done in any way they can(good or evil aside) for a character not to just be evil for the sake of a boss fight and instead have a purpose is nice-it makes you want to defeat them even more and it gives the hero of the game more personality and relation to the players. TW2 was an easy 9/10 for me this year-only losing a point for the shortened 3rd chapter.
  16. Cool I like AW-the combat was kind of bad and repetitive but it was still a top game.
  17. Also most people who play this game and leave it do give it a proper chance. It just has too many lazy development elements for me. Plus the development is being taken over by G1, buyer of dying games. If you don't know Gamersfist they are pretty much most famous for taking over development on, then dead game, APB. But that was not the only time they have taken over development on a dying a game, almost all the games on their website have been developed by a different company and taken over by G1. Just read an interview with one of the FE developers that confirmed the games move to F2P. Changing development, moving to F2P, introducing micro-transactions and the consistent "low" server population. These facts seem to agree with me that the game is on the brink and trying to boost the population in anyway possible(the usual tricks). Though a good thing to be said is that the game will see massive pop' boost when it arrives in the F2P section on STEAM and if the devs can keep the newbies around then the games population problems should not be a worry for a bit of time.
  18. The answer in most cases(besides the obvi' drivers updates) is a no. I am still using my Window 7 from my Acer Predator(installed in new personal build) and I was easily able to use it like nothing had changed. It is true that some people, in times of mass overhauls, have said they had to re validate windows but that can be done in two ways. 1/ windows re-validation prompt provides a phone number and instructions for re-validation. 2/ All PC have the validation code on the chassis somewhere-usually the bottom. Though following method one you wont need it. Also I prefer intel-i5 2500k. But you have built your whole PC here around an AMD build so I don't think changing the processor is a wise choice(strictly talking Intel-AMD) Change it and you pretty much are starting from scratch.
  19. Depends on the games. I like it in stuff like ARMA 2, it adds an extra level of tactics and poise to the game play. Gives you something to think about before running in to battle. Just the way I see it.
  20. hehe, I want to see one or two big land expansions for Skyrim. New Perks, new factions etc. Bethesda would be fools to not take advantage of their present cash cow! Not really all games release DLC's tactically. Skyrim is still heavily riding its huge buzz and will continue to do so til xmas. Content-at least the large expansions-usually come out at smart times in the market/when a game is losing some of its speed. Also it makes zero sense to quickly release a DLC when the original game has not gone through appropriate patching and most 1st wave buyers have yet to finish the original quests/story. Also people need to not hate on Oblivion-it was brilliant, not to mention practically the mother pf Skyrim, just like Morrowind to it before.
  21. No their is no real fear over the liquid cooling aspect as I used self contained water cooling for the cpu, it was mainly in the air cooled gpu where I had my problems-other than the low end plastic you will not have any cooling/space issues if you go full water. Just beware of how tricky it is to get descent air flow to the gpu in this case.
  22. The build sounds great man please keeps us updated in the future about it. This should play any of the top games out at a respectable-to-flawless frame rate. One thing I must say, I can not let you buy it in good conscience, is look for a different case than the Phantom. I am not just hating on the case or anything like that, I don't pick up any brand loyalties. I had just changed back from that case(red version) Th Phantom is a very good looking case and spacious to boot, however the space does not work to an advantage. Between to Motherboard and bays it has a huge space and this space acts almost like a tunnel and the cool air seems to gather in that region of the case. I used the Phantom for about a month before I switched back to the Antec 300-thats right I switched back from a full tower to a midi for better cooling. This case caused my computer to overheat twice after only minimal hours play(2-3) Which has not changed in the Antec. I would recommend looking around for a taller, rather than wider case for an SLI/Xfire set up. Also the case bevel is made from very flimsy(almost cheap) plastic and after only about a week of ownership the door had come loose(eventually falling off) To boot one of the hollow plastic feet was cracked under the weight of the PSU. I hope you have not already bought this case(if you have I hope you have more luck than me with it) It is a shame because the performance does not do justice to the way this case looks.
  23. Markarth is my fav' area in the game. I just love the Dwarven mine feel it has to the city.
  24. I hate F2P games, simply because the game then becomes all about micro-transactions. I really think it is a bad road for any game to go down-mostly because it is the road they take when their games is dying or not deemed by consumers worth paying for(worthless) I played(bought) FE some time ago on STEAM for about 8EUR on sale-I played it a bit but found everything to be a lot below the par set by some of the competitors in the market. Played a few levels just to make sure I was not quitting on a knee-jerk reaction and that I fully gave it a chance to get better, which in my opinion it did not. I hope you guys have better luck and find more enjoyment in this game than most people seem to.
  25. Yes I read an article about possible DX11/10 features in the future for Skyrim.
