Will this have an adverse effect on sound quality?
EDIT: yes, it will. duh, now I feel stupid :)

Please explain, if you've worked in any. Explain every aspect of how they generally function. Thx in advance.

What's uac?
Also, if my cpu is 64-bit, will it run a 64-bit application faster than a 32-bit application?
Thx.

You can easily adjust your monitor's color settings to emulate darker nights without actually using a mod. I keep mine on its scenery setting when playing Oblivion, and you can't see two feet in front of you without a torch at night, and the colors are richer (but otherwise normal) during the day. Any other game I just switch to 'game' mode, otherwise the colors end up looking a bit dark and yellow, but for Oblivion it works great.
I'm not discouraging anyone from making a darker nights mod, but I won't be downloading and I thought I'd post this helpful message for people who either don't like to install mods, or for people who plan on using other lighting mods and don't want the conflicts.

I'm not sure it's possible to 'mod out' gay people. I'm fairly certain that the player character is required to initiate any homosexual relationships. That said, I find the request apalling and it's clear that if you want such a sheltered, holier-than-thou game, you're not mature enough for 80% of Skyrim.
Also, major quest points focus on decapitation and pagan blood sacrifices, so good luck with that. *rolls eyes*

I prefer respawning enemies. If you don't, you can always remove all the spawns and replace them with ordinary enemies in the construction set. I don't know why you'd want to get rid of spawns though. (I guess there were only thirteen wolves in all of Skyrim, hmmm...)

As topic says, I'd like a mod that allows me to disable any quest markers, so that you actually have to read the quest log and find the places you're going to by yourself.
Quoted for epic win.

I don't know why everyone hates patches so much; fifteen minutes (on the high end) and you can go back to gaming, only you'll be playing a higher quality, less buggy game. Sounds like a great trade-off to me. As someone said before me, they start work on patches as soon as the game is done, not as soon as we get it. We should be thankful Bethesda is committed to supporting the game after launch and fixing problems even after they have our cash.
I do care a bit, not to knock your argument people have to get over patches it's just in australia we got to pay for like 50gigs (in my case) of internet, soon as that's gone i gotta blow more money for more downloads unless i want something going slower then a snail.
For instance i tried to install Shogun 2 the other day and had to download almost 20gigs of patches...
Hmm...
Good point.

I prefer to play most games as hard as possible, I just like the punishment and the sense of achievement once victory is attained. Also most games seem too easy at the "normal" setting and if the game is worth playing I like it to last a little longer.
But I hate a tedious button-mash for its own sake. I know there has been some speculation over whether the settings affect just hitpoints, or leveling of monsters or other elements. Do we have any solid info or is it still just speculation?
I'd like to see individual sliders for enemy health and player health. That way you can play with a bit more realism, or play it like a hack'n'slash if that's your preference.

It's a good idea, but if you add too-bright dyes it would just look silly. Stay with earth tones for most things.
Also, it would almost certainly conflict with armor replacers, so I suspect the audience will be quite limited.

When you call your cat "Dragon Born".
When you make Daedra jokes that nobody else understands.
When you finish one Elder Scrolls book per day, at the expense of Physics homework. (yes, I can read crazy fast)
Me want elder scrolls books. Where I get?
I bought them on my Kindle, so IDK if they're in many stores. There are two; Lord of Souls and The Infernal City.
At first I was worried they'd be like horrible fanfiction, but they're actually really good.

As someone who obsessed over Oblivion for several years, I can say I'm a little worried about the companion system. Will it be better or worse than the cm companion mods in Oblivion, I wonder? Either way a mod will make it better, but I'd prefer a comprehensive companion system from the vanilla version.

I imagine voice acting wouldn't be quite as tough for voiced books, since you have to sound more like you're reading instead of, say, pulling an arrow out of your arm.
-
The character models, and also how lower level enemies disappear when you reach a higher level. (If I want to hunt a boar, I should be able to find a boar!)

You mean he knocked himself out with a shovel. the guards tried, but failed. Sb3 took pity on the poor guards and knocked himself out. That's how compassionate he is. Plus, he once beat Chuck Norris in a drinking contest, which is where he won those 12 elven mistresses.

You realize that almost all the hd gameplay vids are from the 360 version, don't you?

It looks to me like it has a little camera sway when you're sprinting, but it's almost absent from what I've seen. If I was running Eyefinity I'd probably want camera sway more, but on a single screen it could go either way.

In modern games such as Skyrim, the most immersive are almost invariably played in first person. Fun is a matter of opinion, but I doubt most people would say that immersion for the sake of immersion is achieved with a third person camera. This is not to say that first person games are better; only more immersive. Third person games are often focused differently than first person counterparts, more towards style or action rather than immersion.
However, an interesting trend in first person games is to make your character glide along the ground with nary a noticeable footstep. Although some people say that a 'camera sway' effect disorients them, others claim that it is needed for the sake of realism. Games as old as King's Field 4 included camera sway, but the Elder Scrolls series has so far been reluctant to go the extra step towards full immersion. This is perhaps because of the track record of games that include camera sway in first person. (hint; they don't sell well)
It seems likely that the mainstream audience, running Skyrim on lower framerates on consoles, would be especially bothered by an overt first person camera sway effect. Your thoughts on this matter?

There was a post a while back where somebody suggested that, upon Skyrim's release, people write about their questing in true roleplay fashion (which is to say, with many 'thees','thous', and 'thines', lol just kidding about the olde words). I posted this to keep this idea alive, to add a poll, and also to find out who is still planning on doing this.

Are they merely a texture that could be edited? Or are they part of the mesh?
I shall be extremely annoyed if they are a physical part of the mesh.

I don't care if they die, but they had better have no power. They should not be able to attack, and they should not be able to report to guards. If somebody is runing away yelling about the guy in a Black Hand robe who just killed a beggar, I want to be able to arrow snipe whoever is doing the running and yelling. I also don't want to be in the middle of an epic battle, only to accidentally hit a child, who then starts punching me like an unkillable gnat. You should not have to run from virtual children.
Also, FOX is the mosy pathetic excuse for a news show that I have ever seen. "Oh my God, Mass Effect is like a porno! BANBANBANBANBAN!"

Cities are already open by default, so this mod is one step closer to completion!

Win7 X64 Scratchy Sound Problem
in Skyrim LE
Posted
Maybe this is related to the audio game crashes on win7 64bit?
Try this:
control panel> hardware and sound> sound> click on your device> properties> advanced> switch to anything below 192000Hz
If that doesn't work, do the same thing, but switch to dvd quality.
I've heard a few people have this problem, but their games usually crash as well. IDK if this will fix it for you.
