How do I change armor parts position?
aLxv1 posted a topic in The Witcher's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
I've uncooked the whole game+dlc 85gb of stuff. I found the armor files I'm looking for but, I've no idea which file is for and what software to use for them. Do I need to edit the TGA files with photoshop? There's also the w2mesh files amd XBM files which I've no idea how open. Tried converter toolset which exports in format for 3d software but always gives error that texture is not found. How do I do this simple thing? What do I need? -
I visit often "questionable" sites, and download various stuff through torrent since a lot of times there's no other download method. With the increased warnings around the web about my ISP spying on me and collecting data, etc., should I invest in a VPN for safety or would it be pointless?

I got a copy and did a full playthrough with all possible side missions and collectibles, because I'm a ME diehard fan, even bought shepard's hoodie. IMO the best part is combat, weapon/armor customization and the crafting system as well as exploration. Everything else it average, especially crew and story. I had high expectations so I didn't like it so much, at a point before the final stage of the game I even felt like just watching the ending on youtube and be done with it. Choice consequences felt almost absent. The story antagonist race (the Kett) reminds me too much of the Grineer race from Warframe. Building design, soldiers etc. which was pretty game breaking for me. It was an ok game but it lacked the same touch the other titles have. It didn't feel memorable. Don't know what else to say, other than I wish they made it better, but like all publishers these days, they rush their product and it goes down the toilet.

I played and finished multiple times ME1 2 and 3, loved them all. I want to dive into Andromeda and enjoy it but I'm not sure yet since not all reviews are positive. What do you think? Should I avoid it or start playing it?

Hmm.. there are tons of great games I played but there are those which you liked so much you'll always remember. Mine are: -Dragon Age Origins (Masterpiece) -Mass Effect 1-2-3 -Need For Speed Shift 2 Unleashed (Used it with steering wheel and pedals to learn diving before getting my driving licence lol) -Halo CE and Fable TLC (childhood memories) -Assassin's Creed series -Gta San Andreas / GTA IV -Skyrim -Fallout NV (loved it more than 3, since FO3 kept crashing every 10 min) -Witcher 3 (Masterpiece) -Total War Rome 2 -Total War Medieval 2 Online games: -Global Agenda (met some awesome people) -Wolfteam (Aeria Games) (met some people there witch which I still speak today after many years and had tons of fun, company even hired me as alpha tester for a while) -League of Legends (mindless fun, especially trolling people in ranked)

Cap Stashes. (Mod request, increase/modify amount)
aLxv1 replied to AtmaDarkwolf's topic in Fallout 4's Mod Ideas
I agree, besides, at least 100 caps could easily fit in a box that size, makes no sense to call it a "stash" unless it's a fairly high amount. -
While browsing deviantart site I stumbled upon this: http://abelvera.deviantart.com/art/Power-Armor-Concept-554320483 Imagine that as a new power armor added to the game, created by the Institute, would be amazing. Is anyone willing?

I finished both Fallout 4 (also played Fallout New Vegas for a long time) and Witcher 3 (Also finished Witcher 2), here are my thoughts comparing the two: What I enjoy most in games like these, other than the main story, is exploring and the rewards for doing it. In both games each location is unique and may offer unique loot, all things considered I prefer Fallout in this aspect. In Witcher 3, when you get to Skellige, around 60% of points of interest are chests under water, and that killed it for me. Sure it looks beautiful sailing in your boat while watching the sun go down and all the pretty lens effects and water reflection but after 30 min it gets boring af. Also the loot you get is always crafting materials + some gear which you end up selling or dismantling for even more materials. In Fallout, unless you already crafted your own gear, you always have a chance of finding something better, and it's really enjoyable cruising around. Especially with True Storms mod, I could literally just stand there and enjoy the rain sound. Other than that, the skill tree in Witcher and Fallout are similar enough since they're considered as perks in both games. You definitely feel the impact of leveling up much more in Fallout 4. As for the graphics and landscapes, Witcher 3 I'd say is more pretty looking. Even though this goes down to personal preference I'm more of a baroque/medieval architecture type instead of modern buildings, which are pretty boring imo. And finally, main story. Definitely Witcher 3. The characters are much more pronounced, the story becomes intriguing once you get into it, and well done cutscenes. Especially in the latest DLC, Hearts of Stone. In the end it all goes down to preference. I enjoy both games very much, once I start getting bored running around in a game I dive into the other, although I feel like Witcher 3 has more content to offer.

Creating/editing texture & general modding tutorials?
aLxv1 replied to aLxv1's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Hmm I think I'll start with simple texture editing to get used to everything. Apparently what I was thinking of (or dreaming of to be specific) involves Autodesk for 3d models creation, rendering into normal maps and then texturing them in Photoshop which takes a loong time. Now I realize how much time modders actually put into their work. One more question though, once the normal maps are finished, I save them as .dds and name them after the object's texture I want to replace right? Then drop it in the data folder? -
Basically whenever I play either Skyrim or Fallout 3/NV I always come here to find stuff that fits my character best and sometimes I don't always find it. I often come up with good ideas and I'd like to create some content and contribute to the community with some of my own work, armor/weapons whatever comes to mind. The thing is, I don't know where to start. I have some experience with Photoshop if that helps, and if I google for example "fallout how to create mods" there results are a bunch of GECK videos of how to edit item stats etc. Can someone please point me to somewhere where I can learn how to and what tools I need? Thanks

Open NMM, go to Settings, click on the "Skyrim" tab and check if the installation path was detected correctly, if not, deactivate all mods, type in the correct path and activate the mods once again.

Take a look here, I'm sure you'll be able to take a decision after.

LE Player Homes - Divine home (just an idea, please read)
aLxv1 posted a topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
So, I was thinking, I recently did Azura's Star quest, when you're being sent into the star there's this crystal-like environment, really awesome. Is there any mod that adds a location to the world using those textures? If not, I'd really like see one. This is what I'm talking about: http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/042/8/8/inside_azura__s_star_by_norroen_stjarna-d4pclre.jpg -
If DA:O was a made into a movie...
aLxv1 replied to TSotP's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Yeah but that's just a fan-made series, you can't compare it to an actual movie. -
It looks pretty and all but I don't know how well those kind of clothes will fit into Skyrim's theme..

Sorry for my late response, as mikaelarp said, I'm not looking for the usual bounties the stewards and in-keepers give, kill a bunch of bandits somewhere, collect the useless 100-200 gold and that's it. I'm looking for something more exiting, a series of bounties where the enemy gets gradually stronger, special rewards and such. I'd do it myself if I knew how to use the creation kit, hell, maybe I'll give it a shot if I have time, who knows.

LE Is this possible? A particular crash prevention....
aLxv1 replied to Salusasecondus's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Well, the problem is that the faster you move in Skyrim from region to region, the more RAM you need. That's because when you enter a new area, the game has to load it and before that it has to unload the previous area, that's why sometimes the game freezes for 0.5 seconds. Doing that too fast you put a lot of stress on your RAM, therefore you get CTDs. -
I remember playing Fallout NV some years ago and I had a mod that basically spawned an NPC which gave you bounties to collect, I remember having a lot of fun since the enemies were created by the author himself and overpowering them, something like the mod "Deadly Dragons" for Skyrim. Is there something similar already for Skyrim or am I the first to mention it? If there's already some kind of mod similar to my description then post a link please
-
Well, maybe some of you knew already about this but I'll post it anyway, maybe some others like me didn't know. It's about the GPU driver, I just took a look at the article (link) @geforce.com, I don't know how I got there though, and when I saw the following notes: ”NVIDIA FXAA Technology – shader-based anti-aliasing technology available from the NVIDIA Control Panel that enables ultra-fast anti-aliasing in hundreds of PC games. FXAA delivers similar quality to 4x multi-sample antialiasing (MSAA) but is up to 60% faster, enabling substantially higher performance in games. FXAA is supported on all GeForce 8-series and later GPUs.„ I thought "This means more fps while I'm playing!" and I felt like I'd have to share the info. If you feel like it, download it and give it a try, hope it helps. Cheers. PS: I know this might not be the right forum category but there isn't a "preformance" or something alike section, therefore I thought this would be the most appropriate one among the other ones.

Thanks for the info, sounds exciting :) I'd be happy to help with the voice-acting but the problem is that English is not my main language so my accent is not what you would expect, besides I don't have an adequate recording mic in the first place

If you need more testers I'm available, I have both a heavily modded Skyrim installation (no WiS installed) and a clean one as well, both fully working. So let me get this straight, you're re-creating the mod with the project you're working on included? Because, as you've said, the main WiS mod is not available anymore.
-
I hope it will available to us soon, I just found out about it and guess what, I can't get it.. It's almost like double the fun with WIS and I waaaaaant it.
-
O:A crashed for me, trying to get into the base through the elevator, with any weapons retext/standalone mod, it seems to work fine with other mods so I suggest you disable those of the kind I mentioned, such as "H&K PSG-1 Sniper Rifles" which you've got there and give it a try, and don't forget to backup your save game files in case they get corrupted.

Extremely long load times after recent patch ... ?
aLxv1 replied to NeroAngelo's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
How much time does it take exactly? I didn't notice any difference in loading times between the new patch and the older one.
