Oh wow, confirmed. Works again. Thanks for the heads-up on it, I'd given up trying.
-
Same here. Sorry to hear that it isn't fixed for you either.
-
I'm going to try this again, despite its apparent futility. I have PMed you as requested. Twice. I waited a month in between, so as not to be a pest. Clearly that isn't working as the system reports that you haven't read them. To be clear on the problem: http://postimg.org/image/84sj94thd/ This started in August. Appears only to affect Skyrim Nexus.

Can I change a follower's starting location with TesVedit?
Seijin8 replied to Mookeylama's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Not everyone can use the Creation Kit. His question was specific to TES5Edit. I've used this method with no issues, and later loaded that into the CK and it didn't complain about said change. You are correct that the original reference would need to be removed, else it would produce a second copy of the character. To do this in TES5Edit, click on the NPC's listing and check the tab at bottom for "referenced by", then find the other (original) ACHR and delete or disable it. -
Seriously? Someone should spend their time creating a mod to disable an option you don't like? An option that you can't even access unless you speak to a specific character in a specific place about it?

Yes you can. Step by step (how I do it, maybe not the best way): 1) Load the follower mod up in TES5Edit 2) Look up on Skyrim wiki to find the location you want them to be in. For example, Solitude Hall of the Dead. 3) Find someone in the location that you want the follower to be in, in this case Styrr. 4) Get Styrr's RefID: 198A8 and enter it into the FormID search box. This should produce a "ACHR" record. 5) Right click the record and "copy as new record". Place this into your follower mod. 6) Find the new record in the mod (usually under Cell or Worldspace) and change the reference to Styrr to point to your follower (typically, I check the FormID and use right-click Edit to enter the ID, else it may hang while it tries to search). 7) If it throws an error, select "null" reference and right-click the left pane with the esms/esps and "remove filter", then reopen the collapsibles and do it again, should work that time. Doing this from memory from work, so may not be 100%. Note that the AI package of the follower may be tied to the original location, and if so, they will migrate back there. Changing the package to "DeafultSandbox" should repair that problem, though for some scripted/enhanced followers, that may break things. Best of luck. -
Thank you for the quick reply. PM sent.

This still isn't fixed. There is another thread "Can't Endorse Mods!" by simsim899 where admin "AxelDominatoR" indicates that the problem "is due to a corrupted file somewhere in the system and was difficult to find". Has there been any movement on this at all? 5 Months now that I can't endorse files. Very irritating.

@Sevencardz: Love the idea of this and CH needed an upgrade anyway. I haven't read all the responses, but if nobody has suggested an animation fix, Alienslof created a proper one some time back. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28312/?

Downloaded "Dawn of Solitude" using manual download and NMM. Nothing in download history since last month. EDIT: Only affects Skyrim. Other download histories are correct.
-
It appears to only be Skyrim mods. I DLed an XCOM mod earlier and it was in my download history and endorsed just fine. DLed a Skyrim mod and it doesn't show up.
-
My download history is also devoid of activity since Aug 9th. The only part of the Nexus system that seems to be keeping track of my downloads is the endorsement reminder system.
-
@Janrith: Thanks for the post and the link. Sad to say that fixing this likely isn't a priority if it is only affecting a few members. The more people who post about their issues with it, the stronger the incentive for the Nexus team to resolve the issue. I should note that (per the site notes) August is their vacation month, so the slow response may just be that. Here's to hoping.

FYI, installed NMM to see if that would fix the problem, and it didn't. Regardless of whether I download manually or through NMM, the site still claims I haven't downloaded it, and every new day still hits me with a list of mods I've downloaded but not endorsed/abstained, none of which can be clicked because it claims I haven't downloaded them. (Yes, I know that I can make the list disappear, but that isn't really fixing the problem.) If anyone has a suggestion for what to do on my end to restore my ability to endorse, I'd love to hear it.
-
Thanks for taking notice. Yes, I was logged in when I downloaded them. No, they do not show up in download history at all. But the system must have them logged as downloads *somewhere* as it is still asking for endorse/abstain on them. @PukinDumpling: My last was "12:38, 9 Aug 2014". Sorry to hear it is happening to you as well, but kind of glad I'm not the only one ;)

Exclusively manual download. Had no problems until last weekend. Thanks for looking into this.
-
Since this weekend, I am unable to endorse any files because the system claims I haven't downloaded the files -- even though I have done so multiple times and (in some cases) on multiple computers. Strangest part, I still get the daily "reminder popup" asking for my endorsement/abstain on these files, but when I click it, it says I haven't downloaded them. Any known fix for this? Thanks in advance.

Apocalypse is my favorite spell mod for Skyrim, and I am enthused to hear you are working on a new version of it. I typically play a conjurer, and would love to see a wider variety of conjures (not just combat-based), such as "wisp" anomalies that glow like a magelight and seek out hostiles, but cannot inflict damage themselves (Power of the Master and other effects could of course be used). More variety of contingency-based spells (not just for Destruction) would also be interesting. A toggle-able effect that auto re-casts atronachs that are destroyed (with a larger than normal Magicka drop) would be very cool (and in keeping with the tactical spell use, not always a good thing to have active!) How about an illusion defensive spell that automatically gates you away when physically struck? Random direction would make it interesting, but maybe in the direction the attack came from, or different versions based on desired effect. Could be used to allow a spellsword to get closer to an archer on every hit, or a distance caster to retreat from attacks (off a cliff, even). Just some ideas, and I am sure whatever you create will be phenomenal as always. Thanks for your hard work!

I think this incentive system is good. It is balanced, doesn't unfairly reward people, and helps to pump the endorsement system, which is under-utilized. It isn't perfect, but it is an improvement.
