  1. lol... quoted the wrong thing... meant to quote the following post, "Not everyone picks nords cause of immersion, especially not me. It's just they are big powerful brutes. And sinec you can have an epic beard this time, how could you not choose?" epic beard looks even more epic on the dunmer... Races + Faces of skyrim... look at the dark elves.... the one with the red hand tatooed on his forehead looks awesome... and he happens to be sporting an epic beard I think i will play a Dark elf that looks about 95% the same as this dark elf... I am also interested in playing an Orc (cause they look 20x better than in IV) and a breton would also be cool Maybe a khajiit or argonian once i how the animations are done for them Never an imperial.... most boring race of all time and have never even considered playing as one
  2. @Corakus that wasnt my point at all... Im not too sure exactly what my point is but it sure wasnt that... I was trying to say that Bethesda does a good job of giving us an immersive world in which supernatural occurrences seem realistic... my characters jumping high + running fast for example seemed perfectly realistic in the world presented to us by Bethesda.... just like the dragons, magic, and elves found in the same world
  3. why do I need a mount?.... I am already a beast... what would possess me to ride a beast less powerful than myself ^ this reasoning is what always went through my mind while playing any one of my numerous oblivion files... Horses for me were just a novelty... something to try out and never ride again because they were inefficient means of transportation compared with myself. The horseback riding looks better in Skyrim but i doubt i'll use them much unless i'm playing a Nord or a Breton.... which wont be seeing play from me until my 3rd / 4th characters. I rather take pride in my own speed than in the speed of my beast of burden any day.... u are crazy 4 thinking otherwise "Realistic"--- why even bring that word up lol... dragons / magic / strange gods / daedric princes / orcs / elves / ---- are those things realistic? When you are immresed in TES everything does seem to be realistic... and considering everything else that goes on in the series I would say that my superpowerful character being able to jump 20 feet and run 200 mph fits right in with the rest of it edit--- fast movement (too fast) was only a problem when indoors and u knocked items all over the place... outside it was great... and if your characters' high speed really bothered you... u could always create a drain attribute / skill spell and apply it to yourself
  4. lol im glad to hear that stamina might affect jump height / run speed.... this is the first i've heard of this and i hope its true I hope they have fortify attribute and fortify skill spells again... which for now i'll convince myself that they are included It seems as though my gravest concern has been laid to rest.... thanks AltreU
  5. I was also disappointed with the orc who just stood around waited to get shot However my biggest worry / disappointment concerns the changes bethesda made to the skills and attributes Instead of the old Attributes: Strength, Intelligence, Endurance, Agility, Speed, Willpower, Personality, and Luck... there are now just health / magicka / stamina I quite liked the old system in which your characters' fatigue / magicka / and stamina were derived from the main 7 attributes... with this old system it was possible to level your skills in a systematic way allowing your character to receive two +5 bonuses along with one +1 in luck and u could get all your attributes to 100 anywhere from between level 40 to lv 50. It seems to me that with this new system... all characters of equal level will be equally powerful (only differences being perks + skills)... This is regrettable because lost will be the great satisfaction of forging a superior character... (unless there is skill and a method to choosing perks) Gaining Perks for every level is a nice addition.... but i dont think i favor them over the ES III + IV class / attribute / leveling system... i wish they added perks and kept the old ways unchanged... come to think of it... i dont even think there are birth signs in this game--- which takes another customizable character option away from the gamer MY biggest gripe--- they cut two skills... Athletics + Acrobatics -these were the best skills in the game for the simple reason that they rewarded the player for hours spent by enabling the character to get around in a faster and more enjoyable manner.... also it is the easiest way for the gamer to feel like his character is powerful.... A lightning quick character who can jump over multiple houses in a single bound was the easiest way for me to draw pleasure from my powerful character now, it seems, that a character fresh out of the sewers (or whatever skyrim's equivalent of the sewers will be) will be just as fast as a character that has logged 200+ hours... If this turns out to be true its HORRIBLE NEWS... i just dont understand how bethesda could cut these skills In oblivion... i was a master of Athletics, Alteration, and Restoration... I had 500 magicka and could cast multiple fortify speed / fortify athletics / + fortify acrobatic spells... I would cast multiple of these spells and zoom about the wilderness with 300 speed / acro / athletcs... The feeling i got from doing this couldnt be rivaled by any other game If this isnt possible in TES V... ill be seriously disappointed... to wander across Skyrim for 200 hours all at the same speed is a ludicrous idea... and one that'll seriously damper my spirits if it is true... which i fear it is
