  1. just thought I'll contribute to this thread I think my "what have I done moment" was when I first did that quest- Waking Nightmare, where I get to the skull and Vaermina was like HE"S GOING TO BETRAY YOU, (cause it's my first playthrough I was very suspicious of him to begin with) so when she said that I pretty much backstabbed him on impulse, and then I saw her say "Vaermina commands you!" then I thought crap so I reloaded
  2. Or because people have always wanted to change their apperance after a while, and using the console can give side effects on it. Also, xbox users can't use the console commands. I think it's a nice feature. A little weird, but nice. I didn't really understand the reasoning behind putting her in the Ragged Flagon though, I figured it'd make more sense to put her in the College of Winterhold as an Alteration Teacher or something (next to Tolfdir) (also cause the Ragged Flagon lags like hell often times for some reason)
  3. I always thought it was just animations with my limited knowledge of these things, I would think it'd be a big performance hit if EVERYTHING was to use it I'd be ok with just hair and cloaks (big things in general, that are like cloaks) using this though I'm hoping they can get it working without absolutely needing to use SKSE
  4. you should be able to fix it with the set playerfollower count 0 console command at least that was how I was able to get by it
  5. that video is the result of this thread http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1401274-question-harkons-vampire-lord-cape/ (take a look to get a better idea of what they're doing) would be great if the Cloak mod authors took a look at this too (well.. assuming they know how this stuff works)
  6. the bugs may be bad, but memory + stability optimization is never a bad thing, so hopefully they'll fix the bugs by the end of the beta edit: forgot to mention, I had a CTD during that time, (and it seemed to have an error to go with it, ingame, before I crashed, but it happened alittle too quickly for me to catch what it said) it happened when I loaded a save file that uses a .ESP that I turned off (so it asked if I wanted to load the game without it or something like that but that one, I'm not so sure if it was from 1.7 or not (though it hasn't happened to me before 1.7 so I think it may be from the patch)
  7. I tried this patch, and first thing I noticed was that my Shouts were disabled (requires souls again to unlock, even though they were unlocked before) and one of my quests apparently came back even though I already finished it (it was the last quest I did, actually) and I can't finish it after it came back in my journal so yeah, just a heads up to anyone planning on using the Beta, I reverted back now and things are back to normal again
  8. also in no particular order -WATER - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux by OpticShooter http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13268 -SkyTEST - Realistic Animals and Predators by EtaYorius http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10175 -Under the Horizon of Dreams - Aetherian Sky by Neokore (dunno if you'd count this as immersive, but I really don't think I can play Skyrim without it after I discovered this) http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1704 -Realistic Ragdolls and Force by dDefinder http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/601 -Elaborate Textiles - NPC Clothing Retexture by Miss Obsidienne http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19826 just off the top of my head, there's definitely more that I didn't list here though
  9. speaking of tech, by that logic, isn't the Xbox 360 .. 2005 tech? or also considering when they started developing Skyrim, might influence some of these things? just a thought
  10. I've never really been bothered by Esbern for some reason, and at least he isn't as annoying as Delphine when it came to that demand Yes yes yes! I thought it was just me. It's the timing as much as anything, it just doesn't sound like the tempo of any human's speech the way he moves from one phrase to the next. The voice itself is fine, but it doesn't even sound like a recorded take, it does literally sound like he's reading a script and trying the voice itself before paying any attention to what the words mean, the context, or the beat and tempo of speech. Generally all the voices in Skyrim are well done even if they are sometimes dislikeable, the real problem is the monotony, the majority of people really do sound the same after a while. Especially the male "commander" type voice, that's just everywhere. he's not human (I know what you mean, just kidding)
  11. Off the top of my head, Tulius, his voice changed drastically at one point while talking which didn't sound so nice to me (like it went all high pitch and stuff which sounded way out of place) And maybe even Ulfric, or maybe that's just my personal opinion(didn't like how he sounded)
  12. 2,4,5,7,8,9 are valid point the rest really isn't worth complaining about IMO (that and the way OP worded it is very.. what's the word.. Dramatic? Exaggerated? So it kind of comes off as whiney or upset, so I also understand where some of the replies are comming from) it's also untrue that hardware is holding Skyrim back from everything the OP mentioned, some of them though maybe (I think flammable bushes would hurt FPS in the long run, though you can technically fake burning a bush ingame already ) (sorry if I missed a few points, on mobile so the screen isn't very convenient)
  13. Watched the entire walkthrough on YouTube- at least for what appears to be the Vampire side and realized the only thing I'm maybe excited for is the new gear, and Crossbows - then again I remembered there's also the new perk tree and new Radiant Quests, so there's that too I'll play the DG side like I originally planned to though
  14. thank you for this comment, it expresses my thoughts exactly, we need to hold off any judgement of the DLC until we actually have and experienced it that and this I don't remember many games that have Vampires and Werewolves in it, but I guess that's just me
  15. For your information, people are playing the Dawnguard beta on Xbox 360. What speaks against it, is that there was a werewolf and vampire perk tree shown. If you somehow could play a werebear, I'd guess they put a tree in for it as well. Otherwise it would suffer from same problems as pre-Dawnguard werewolves, they don't scale well. There are some screenshots of the Dragonbone Weapons out, so some people do play the beta, whoever they are. was it really a "Werewolf" perk tree? Or is it a "Lycanthropy" tree? Werebears would be great though
