  1. Larian stated they are working on a Character Appearance Change feature that will come (best case) by Patch 2. Unfortunately, that is several months away, possibly by late October. The mod that exists is very gimmicky and dangerous to work. Use it at your own risk. You will also have to Edit your appearance every single time you play. It ain't worth the hassle. A lot of the issues have been fixed and more are actively being fixed. Additionally, it lets you edit origin characters as well. It may also have more options than what Larian's official will but we'll have to see. In the end, it's up to you if you want to wait or not. Just wanted to respond to this because you mentioned only negatives and none of the positives. Might come in handy for some. Turns out I was right. Editing our appearance doesn't come in Patch 2 after all. Basically Larian posted that they don't know when it's coming. Uninstalling this Early Access. Have fun to the rest of you. I am out!

Oh yeah that isn't ideal. Where did you find it? Patch 1 is here faster than expected. If all goes well Patch 2 is around the corner. it will (hopefully) bring character change to the game.

  4. The way Larian has made Character Creation it is not easy at all to mod it. They have essentially completely locked appearance change options. Honestly, only Larian can fix this. Unfortunately, Patch 2 is many months away. Probably by early November considering that they first have to release Patch 1 which will include huge bug fixes according to them.
  5. Good try but this won't cut it tbh. The mod can't change Hair Color and it also changes hair for EVERYONE who uses that hairstyle in the game, which is very weird... That last one is a serious limitation. At this point only Larian can add a proper appearance change. They said it is being worked on and will most probably arrive in Patch 2 (which unfortunately will take some time, probably a couple of months).
  6. Unfortunately, the mod creator said that changing faces/hair etc. is almost impossible because Larian has pretty much locked these options. Only an official patch from LARIAN allowing changing appearance seems to be the only proper solution. Make sure to request it officially here: https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=87&page=1 A Larian dev already confirmed that they may work on it, but if it is gonna come in 3 months from now it will be pointless. We will have to shelf the game till then. It needs to be patched ASAP. I wouldn't say the options are locked, I think I was wrong on that part. It's just the bindings don't exist in-game to edit those from the respec screen. I allowed editing for origin characters (with some workarounds) but for custom characters, it's much harder because of the way they're generated and associated in the save database. There might be a way but it's going to take a lot of work. You are doing amazing work. I just hope we can change all aspects of our appearance (instead of Race, it's too much). I read that you said they were locked, but it's great news to hear that it might not be after all. Waiting patiently for updates :)

  8. There is a mod now boys! It is still a WIP but you can change most stuff of your appearance through Withers! https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/899?tab=description
  9. Mods are gonna allow this regardless at some point. It's just Larian being Larian and shitting on the Character Creation once more. You have more reproductive organ options than character faces... Even if that was their "worry" they could at least let us be able to only change our Custom Character's appearance, not Origins or Hirelings. if i were a cynical man, id say perhaps they didnt want to allow appearance changes because then nobody would buy the 9.99 DLC that everyone pretends doesnt exist. The Mask of The Shapeshifter does NOT allow you to change your appearance. It's just an illusion spell that camouflages you as another Race. You don't get to choose how you look. It is literally a spell you HAVE TO CAST that transforms you into a Default Preset Random Race. Don't confuse people into buying something that doesn't have the use we need!

  11. It's 8 days after release (including years of EA) and still no Change Appearance mod on the Nexus, though it's Larian's fault for not having such a simple feature. It's surprising because there's already all sorts of weird mods done, yet nobody has done the most requested one (I wish I knew how to mod lol). Well, whoever does it first will surely get s#*! tons of Donations/Endorsements/Likes etc. Looking at Reddit and the Steam forums, it is probably the most requested mod.
  12. Can we please get a mod that allows us to access the Character Creator room and CHANGE our appearance mid-game? How could Larian omit such an important feature for an RPG? Why are we force-locked into one appearance for the whole playthrough? This is an RPG. People want to change their looks as they progress, they change gear, they may change class, they make choices (evil/good), and may want to reflect these changes on their character. Why are we force-locked into one look for the whole playthrough? If you can pay and change Class/Skills, you should also be able to change Hairstyle and Tattoos. Just add a freaking barber or the option to change our appearance at a mirror, Larian. How could this be omitted during 6 years of development? Why didn't Early Access testers mention this? Considering that the game is suffering from the usual Character Creator lighting issue, the lighting during the CC room is different from the lighting in-game, and your looks end up being completely different. All colors have a different tint to them when in game, and we need to be able to change our appearance until we find what works best.
  13. Yes, please. This is ESSENTIAL. What was Larian thinking not adding this? What were the Early Access testers "testing" ffs? That's such a huge omission by their part.
