Elements of game sped up: need help
scottym23 replied to scottym23's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Hey, thanks for the information! I was actually coming back to this thread to amend it due to finding out the same information with a quick YouTube search (definitely should have done that before posting a thread, my bad.) But I did exactly what you said. I downloaded Nvidia inspector and capped my Fallout 4 at 60 FPS, and it returned to normal after that. Thanks a lot for the help! It's strange how FPS would be tied with game speed...that doesn't seem to be the norm in most games, is it? -
So when I load into either a previous save or a completely new game, there are aspects that are sped up seemingly by 2 or 3 times. These include walk/run speed, animations such as the vault boy animations on the level up screen and when assigning your SPECIAL in the beginning of the game, gun shooting and reloading speed, and even the green vault tec loading symbol between loading screens in the bottom right hand corner is pulsating at twice the speed. I have a new computer and assume that's playing a part, but I didn't have any mods installed at first and still noticed the problem. If anyone could help me with this i'd greatly appreciate it!

Just Bought Oblivion: Error on Startup
scottym23 replied to scottym23's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Wow, thank you so very much man. I knew from troubleshooting problems in the past with Bethesda games and also from getting mods to work, that there were multiple random locations where various parts of the game data was put. I saw someone else say to delete the oblivion.ini too, and honestly I thought I tried that already. It ended up being a case of me thinking I had checked everywhere for that oblivion.ini and couldn't find it specifically, so I deleted a file just labeled, "oblivion" and assumed that was the ini as well, which of course it ended up not being. Honestly it's a bit frustrating how difficult Bethesda sets up their game files and puts it into so many seemingly random locations that are difficult to find, making troubleshooting their games tedious and time consuming. I would have never found that ini file if you didn't specifically lay out to me where it was, so again I just have to say thank you so much for taking the time to do so! Right after I deleted it and started up the game, I heard the intro music and just started smiling. Sure enough it's running perfectly fine now! As you mentioned with the publisher popup, if it's just a message that doesn't effect anything negatively (besides just wasting a second of my time) then i'm okay with keeping it there for now. However, if it does negatively effect the game or the mod installation process, then I definitely would like to resolve it. I didn't mention this in my original message because it wasn't relevant to the problem, but the reason I decided to start playing again was because randomly on YouTube a recommended video was one where a modder compiled a list of the best mods to make your game look graphically amazing, and I wanted to try installing them all to see if I could make my game look as good as he made the one shown in the video appear. So if the unknown publisher problem somehow will make the mod installation process more difficult, then I would want to fix it. But if not, then i'm fine with just dealing with it whenever I launch the game. Just wanted to say thanks so much again for taking the time to write that out and help! -
Hi, I just recently bought and downloaded Oblivion the deluxe edition on steam. I try to run it and I get to the start menu where I can change the settings and such, but once I try to hit play the screen goes black for a couple seconds and the error message pops up telling me oblivion stopped working. I've looked around for a solution but everything I tried didn't work. Here's what I've tried so far: 1. Running as compatible for Windows 8 (and 7 once that didn't work) 2. Running in administrative mode 3. Uninstalling/Reinstalling 4. Continually attempting to run it in hopes it just works eventually None of these solutions have worked for me and I can't find anything else. Another weird fact about this is that when I initially run Oblivion, a yellow bordered pop up appears letting me know that Windows can't identify the publisher and if i want to continue. I am running the game off of steam so this doesn't make sense to me. When I run Skyrim or Fallout games, this unknown publisher message does not show up. Maybe it has something to do with why Oblivion won't work? Either way i'm not computer savvy enough to figure that out. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated, I just really want to play one of my favorite games that I haven't played in nearly half a decade and can't seem to get it to work. If you have any suggestions to what could be a solution, please let me know! Here's some more information about my setup that might be useful: I'm running Windows 10 I'm using a 980 TI, and every other Fallout/ES game I own is able to run with it Please let me know if there's any more information that i'm leaving out that's key to figuring out the problem, and i'll provide it

I'm trying to alter the stats for the Elite riot gear armor, helmet, and the armor attachments (elite left leg, bandolier, ect.) I've downloaded and attempted to use FO4edit and I have found the armor files for the ncr armor and attachments, however it doesn't seem as though I can edit the attachments. I've been successful in downgrading the base riot gear armor to my desired stats, but for some reason I can't seem to alter the stats on the attachments to it. Any help in figuring out how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

Game Lags Uncontrollably
scottym23 replied to scottym23's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Hey, thanks for your help. Unfortunately the only piece of information that I could see as directly useful to me was the fact windows 10 is notorious for having enb issues, which although is depressing since that's a problem I can't really fix atm I can take comfort in knowing it's not my computer that can't handle the enb but my operating system. I know, as you already stated, the technical solutions are inherently technical for obvious reasons, but as I stated previously I have little knowledge of the minutia of computers and programs, so if there is in fact a concrete answer to my problem within the help page you posted I must lack the knowledge in terminology to decipher/find it. Thanks though for your help, I really do appreciate it. -
I've tried for a while now to get an enb to run with a manageable amount of fps drop, but to no avail (windows 10 apparently is the devil in regards to enb so i'm told). So i'm looking for any mods that will get close to replicating the aesthetic overhaul of an enb without being one and coming with those inherent fps hits. I'm using a Nvidia gtx 980 ti so I should be able to handle most graphical mods.

Hi, I recently installed a bunch of mods and the dynamox enb and my game is lagging to the point of being unplayable. I don't know much about computers, but I'm fairly confident I installed all of the mods properly since I followed every step in the guides. Without the enb my game runs perfectly fine, so I know I installed at least those correctly. As for the enb, I watched multiple videos on how to do so and followed them to a T, and my game looks nice for the slide show that it is while playing. My friends have told me that my graphics card is more than capable of handling some hefty mods and enbs for New Vegas, so i'm unsure of what the problem could be. http://www.imgbase.info/images/safe-wallpapers/video_games/the_witcher_3/40363-the_witcher_3_wallpaper.jpg I saw this armor in one of the launch trailers and was really looking forward to getting it in game when I first started playing. Was a little dissapointed when it wasn't included, and thought it was only a matter of time before a modder added it since it looked awesome. Only the Grand master Cat armor has a hood, and I really want a different armor set with this feature. I think a lot of people would support this mod if someone decided to make it!

Whats with the tsunami Black ''X'' mods
scottym23 replied to wistfane's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Absolutely WRONG! Demanding that a mod maker not make a mod because you don't want it is selfish and egotistical. It is saying because I don't want that mod nobody should be allowed to have it even if they do want it. You are not the center of my world. Get over yourself and grow up. You completely side stepped what I said entirely....Did I ever say it wasn't selfish or egotistical? Of course it is, but people have the right to say it. That's all I said in my comment, yet you "wronged" me for "correcting" something I never said in the first place. Am I wrong that people can't ask for mods to not be made? How on Earth is that an incorrect statement? If you can't do that, then by your logic this thread should have been deleted. But it's still here, so OP clearly has a right to do it. So to you my friend, I say...."WRONG!" This topic is obviously troll bait. I withdraw my presence. You do realize this isn't a chatroom, right? Withdrawing your presence doesn't require a notification post... Secondly, if you are implying what I said was "troll bait" I honestly have no idea why you'd think that. I'm not nor have I ever tried to troll. Please, if you think anything I said was made as a joke explain it to me so I don't do it again, but I hold everything I said in the comment you quoted me in as true. Why would anyone, especially a mod, say someone is, "WRONG!" for making a statement you don't agree with? Even if you think the statement is pointless or rude or selfish, it should still be allowed to be said. To flat out tell someone they can't do that is going against a free and open forum... -

While I agree with the sentiment of your statement as a whole, the, "don't knock it." part is dangerously close to saying, "Don't criticize." That should always be allowed in a fair and open forum such as this. Just as people have the right to ask for a certain mod, those same people have the right to ask for mods to NOT be made. Nobody has to listen to them, but subtly suggestion someone shouldn't voice an unpopular opinion goes against the spirit of the forums imo.
