This thread was started with an assertion without any evidence to back it up. What was the file that got banned and for what illegal content? Important details to include if you're going to start ranting and throwing accusations around.

The point is, if you start posting vanilla assets in large numbers it becomes possible with the CK to recreate all or part of Skyrim easily. Bethesda doesn't want that, for good reason. Just don't post assets from vanilla Skyrim. It's not even necessary in order to make something use a vanilla texture. Just set the texture to be pulled from the directory where it should already rest in any legitimate copy of the game. Problem solved.
What you just said is nonsense. Look at morrorwind, oblivion, fallout 3, new vegas... all had creation kits. Was the game "Recreated"? NO! Will skyrim be "Re-created"? NO.

You can create all the content you want. You just can't post Bethesda's assets up for FREE download. Be quiet, please.
What if everyone made a mod that gave away vanilla assets for download? It's time to lock this idiotic post.
Every mod here can be looked as an "Asset" of bethesda, even to extent that it's using a COPYRIGHTED file extension by bethesda or a bit of their code. Also, keep insults to the minimum.

Nexus Mods can be held accountable in many cases for what a user uploads; they don't want to be the target of lawsuits. If time and money grew on trees, sure, every site under the sun could afford to litigate, but sadly, neither have been fruitful for many places. Look at the Megaupload case, for instance.
SOPA and PIPA failed, ACTA about to fail too. Don't go off-topic please... this is about modders getting banned for simply... creating content...

Lock in 3...2..1..
If they have any humanity and decency left, it won't get locked. Forums are place to discuss things.

(User-name here) banned.
Uploading copyrighted illegal content
So what if he did? This is a MODDING site! Nobody is making money off the mods here! Just what are you guys thinking? Robyn you should fire the moderators doing this or soon you won't have any mods on this site left. A re-texture of a sword is considered "Illegal", A sound pack is considered "Illegal" then EVERYTHING is illegal!
So if i make a model with SKYRIM textures it means im violating copyright and that i should be banned because Skyrim textures belong to bethesda?
Seriously...

^ title, skyrim is full of static unusable containers like new vegas, can anyone make a mod that fixes this issue? its annoying me quite a lot and others probably too.

If you have Skyrim you have Steam and you patch it through Steam.
Rabbit
Er, no i dont have steam, i have unpatched skyrim from my retail box...
@rumoon
I dont like steam because its a filthy spyware and a resource hog. I dont want any special offers it has nor any social aspect it might provide. I just want to play the games i buy after i install them and thats all.
-
What the title says, i literally feel like Bethesda took a dump on me for actually BUYING their game. How can i patch Skyrim without steam and those pirate patches?
-
I have two in crossfire and can't get any FPS over 35. Also, did you buy your copy on dvd? I ask because I am pretty sure anyway you get skyrim it runs on steam. Which would mean unless you pirated it, you would be up to date and forced into using steam in some form or another. But skyrim is last time I checked a steam validated game.
I purchased my copy in a store as a disc. It didn't download steam or anything, in fact, I can't update.
*sigh* If only Bethsoft would THINK and do patches NORMALLY.
Same here, bought it from a store, but when i saw steam announcement, all my hopes were gone. No more patches for people who DONT want to install that bloody spyware... I'm so glad Valve got hacked.
On the point, I disabled AA and AF in skyrim settings, and it's faster... Is this a driver issue or is it the game? I'm trying to fix this via Ini files and ccc

Catalyst 11.12
Also, like i said, i paid a lot for that graphics card and current performance is terrible. CPU is decent, every single game runs at 60 fps without problems, even crysis 2 and serious sam 3.
I wont be updating Skyrim since it requires me to install that spyware called "Steam" and wont allow me to play offline. I suppose i could just download the pirate patches but that would ruin my game since it's retail version which i dont want to poison with pirate patches...
So far, the only improvement is that inside houses, fps is above 30.. 35 or 40 sometimes
-
So yeah. I'm getting very low fps with my 6950... This seems to be skyrim-exclusive problems as all my other games run around 60 fps maxed out.
Vanilla Skyrim, no mods, version 1.0
res 1920 x 1080 with 4x AA
All maxed out

First off, the game is really great, this is not a flame fest but a minor complaint about some of the game's mechanics and a request for information about certain mods' existence.
1. Containers (Barrels) etc, some of them can't be looted like in fallout new vegas (E.G. those safes inside casinos)
2. Inventory, my god is it terrible... (I know about the mod, still looks like crap)
3. Reduced gore... in Fallout you could tear the enemy's limbs or turn his guts inside out... in skyrim? just blood...
4. Skill menu... It looks nice allright, but why do i have to "travel to the stars" to find the skill i want? Why couldn't skills be listed like in Fallout 3 and New Vegas?
5. Reduced facial options
6. No facegen
7. Game plays at 15 - 40 fps on my Radeon HD 6950...
7 reasons which made me quit skyrim after a mere 3 hours of game time.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who absolutely hates those... should i call them... mistakes?
To keep it a bit short this time... I'm looking for mods that:
- Make everything lootable that was supposed to be
- Fallout or Oblivion-like inventory mod
- Fallout-style dismemberment
- Fallout-style skill menu
- Increased Facial Options
- Facegen implementation
- A fix for enthusiast configurations
P.S. Yes, I am aware that neither Script extender for skyrim nor the construction set are available yet, so if one of those mods aren't existing or can't be made yet, then consider them as a request :P
My 2 c.

I did some research on the showracemenu command and people keep saying they've had problems after using it with perks, crit chances and damage. Is there any way to change the race and gender the safe way? Or if there is a mod that can do this it would be appreciated.
Since when did Nexus forums became law enforcement website?

In other words, you dont support mods because mods contain something "Illegal" be it a piece of propertiary bethesda code or a 1x1 texture that was copyrighted. I see steam workshop winning this competition as mods that you dumbly removed here for some "copyright" crap are up and running on Steam Workshop. Good riddance.
