Thank you both of you. I still would've liked a personal oppinion on whether or not it would be safe to run. But I guess I gotta assume that OOO was made to run with UOP hehe. Besides, the changes only affects textures, and only two instances don't match, so I guess it's a minimum impact, especially if the only change is an ugle texture over a nice one..

Horse Armor not showing
KanedaSyndrome replied to KanedaSyndrome's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Strike this question. I found the solution, and incase others are out there searching, it might be helpful to keep this thread. What I had forgotten was that the unofficial DLC mods patch had defaulted to the original official DLCs being turned off by default, but turning those mods on in Oblivion Mod Manager fixed it all. -
Thank you. I did as I wrote myself in my previous post, and so far it's working flawlessly as long as you remember to activate the DLCs as they don't come avtivated by default, leading to missing meshes and textures etc. Now I'm just need to get a few mroe mods working, like OOO, since I hate the idea that everything levels with me, since then what's the point of leveling if you don't get stronger relative to the enviroment. ~Kaneda

Ok, thank you. Should I then adjust the load order or something in this situation? Since it states that the last two entries aren't the same where one is an older version of the other, so I guess I'd want to adjust the load order so the addon with the newest entries are at the bottom (ie. being loaded last)? And in that case, would that be the OOO mod I should load last? Or is it all automatic and I just need to trust it and activate the mod? What is your personal estimate? ~Kaneda

Ok, so I got that Horse Armor addon, and I went to the orc and she told me that I she had just outfitted my horse after I had chosen Elven armor.. But the horse is completely naked now, not even a sadle anymore. Probably clashing with some mods I have. Got the following mods: All the unofficial patches Realistic Leveling BTmod I have a hard time understanding why any of these would cause this bug though.

Ok, question. Is it ok and normal that OOO shows red conflict icon? The small conflict report is this: [Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul COMPLETE 1.33.omod] (major conflict) Data file textures\menus80\icons\armor\cowlofthegrayfox\helmet.dds already exists - CRC's match, so probably nothing to worry about. - Data file owned by unofficial_oblivion_patch_v3_2_0_omod_version-5296.omod Data file textures\menus50\icons\armor\cowlofthegrayfox\helmet.dds already exists - CRC's match, so probably nothing to worry about. - Data file owned by unofficial_oblivion_patch_v3_2_0_omod_version-5296.omod Data file textures\menus\icons\armor\cowlofthegrayfox\helmet.dds already exists - CRC's match, so probably nothing to worry about. - Data file owned by unofficial_oblivion_patch_v3_2_0_omod_version-5296.omod Data file meshes\armor\dwarven\m\greaves_gnd.nif already exists - CRC mismatch. Ok, so I wanted to install OOO (some crazy mod name I can't remember now), and it needed me to install Wrye Bash so I could modify the NPC levels of existing save games.. Ok, that's all fine and dandy, but here's the kicker.. I installed Wrye Bash with Oblivion Mod Manager, I think I'm supposed to do that right? I mean creating an .omod with OBMM, and then activating it? So now, how do I actually start Wrye Bash and use it? Did I get it completely wrong?

I did install all those "Knights of the Nine", "Vile Cave", "Thieves Den" etc. if that's what you mean.
-
Might give it a go.. I've actually become quite good, I think myself, at making an "evil rattling voice", or so to speak :) No promises though, can't send anything right now, got things to do for the rest of the evening.

Thank you all three, appreciate the swift replies. Alright, so I do want to install other mods, especially "Francesco's leveling mod" (the one that keeps creatures at a constant level instead of the silly auto leveling with the character) and "natural environments" mod, and probably a few other small ones like "A to take all, E to close all". But ok, to update, just incase others are out there searching the same questions that I did. The progress if one installs Oblivion + Shivering Isles + Knights of the Nine (+ other official addons): Install order: 1: UOP 2: USIP 3: UOMP 4: UOPS Can you confirm this would be a sensible approach? Btw, I do plan to use Oblivion Mod Manager, but I just need to grasp it fully, just looked at it today. Do I need to convert these before mentioned patches into .omod as well? Or do I just .exe install these? ~Kaneda

Ok, here's the deal, I love Oblivion, but not long after started playing I began noticing things I couldn't play with, so I went to the mods.. Now I was struck by a wall of confusion. I must say, people certainly haven't made it easy to comprehend what's needed and what isn't needed of the mods. Not to mention that it seems that there's no real standard, there seems to be like 5-6 different mod managers etc. All in all, my experience so far is that the people that currently know what there is to know about installing mods are keeping their knowledge to themselves. I've not seen any guides really, apart from the very basics. For example, what I come here with is this, what the freck does UOP UOPS USIP UOMP these mean? I know what they abbreviates stand for, but are they all needed or not? Let's say I have Oblivion + Shivering Isles + the patch to 1.2 or something, the newest official one you know. So which ones of these ( UOP UOPS USIP UOMP = Unofficial Oblivion Patch / Unofficial Oblivion Patch Supplemental / Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch / Unofficial Official Mods Patch) am I supposed to install all of them? Or only the USIP since I have Shivering Isles installed? What about UOMP? What's that even for? I don't understand since there's no explanation anywhere that's satisfactory. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to my current estimate and my best guess as how to install these. For a game that holds Oblivion + Shivering Isles (excluding the "Knights of the Nine" etc.) + the official latest patch, I would need the following installs in the following order: _ UOP then, UOPS and then, USIP _ Is that correct? Looking back at it now, perhaps it makes sense, but having to scour the internet for a few hours to find something as simple as this is quite confusing, I dread this task upon anyone that aren't any good with computers at all. I myself am a programmer and an engineering student. My advice, stop all the abbreviations, they're a nightmare when you're first getting into trying to use mods. ~Kaneda over and out.
