Which is better Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas?
crimsonblade1 replied to kieranbhoy's topic in Debates
Both FA3 and FA:NV crashed on me randomly. I would say both did about as frequently. Sometimes you could play for 2 hours with no problems, other times it crashes in the first 5 minutes. Now that I think about it Oblivion was the same way. -
Someone posted a Dwarf challenge on another site I thought was pretty cool. Basically you take enough wood for some torches and a few saplings, and then you stay underground for the rest of your play. You would have to do an underground tree farm, which is where the saplings come in. I did something similar to this on one map, and its actually not a bad way to play the game. I found a random map and very close to the starting point is an expansive cave system that goes all the way down to the bedrock. Perfect map for a dwarf game. Also this is normal or hard mode only.

Been awhile since I played minecraft. I don't even have it installed on my new PC yet. The weather included on a previous patch made the game completely unstable and get lower FPS on my older rig, shouldn't any problems running it on my new PC though. Any reason to upgrade to 1.8? I'm one of those who waits for all the mods I use to get updated before I go to the new update.

Technically you couldn't beat the game with starting barb equipment, because at one point you need to use the storm ruler. Unless you get enough throwing knives or something, but some could say that isn't starting barb equipment either.

So long as corporations are considered "people" for purposes of campaign donations/advertising, and can spend millions on lobbyists, there is no hope. Hope is the wrong word I would use. It only means the elected officials who take money from corporate lobbyists put the interests of its citizens secondary to that of those who contribute the most to their campaign. And no I don't trust my government as far as I can throw it.

20,000 shoulder fired anti-aircraft missiles say bye bye

Here is a link to that defense system I was talking about Israel using: http://thedefencejournal.blogspot.com/2011/07/c-music-to-protect-israeli-airlines.html This is practically star wars stuff. Uses a laser to intercept a missile and its supposedly fully automated. Airforce one likely has something similar to this except its probably way more powerful. -
Power issues inside the computer. Ideas?
crimsonblade1 replied to Sebiale's topic in Hardware and software discussion
It could be a lot of different problems causing this, as some have already suggested. From experience, I had a similar issue before and it was actually my PSU overheating and cutting off due to the fan going bad inside of it. This was a brand new PSU, it was a Seasonic 850w silver. I RMA'd it and bought a new one and it solved the problem. -
You know, most people would rather just play and enjoy their games without thinking about stuff like racism.

Should the government be involved in job creation
crimsonblade1 replied to kvnchrist's topic in Debates
The main reason we are in this economic crisis is because the government got involved in areas it shouldn't be getting involved in. Like telling banks who they should be loaning more money to. I'm not one for conspiracy theories but it's hard to believe that our financial institutions, regulators and politicians could be guilty of incompetence on such a grand scale. It was obvious from the mid 00s that this was all going to end in tears. Governments were borrowing staggering sums of money that would have required ridiculous levels of growth to keep up with, banks were not only throwing money at people who were never going to repay it but they were also lending it to governments whose economies were disasters waiting to happen. Note how none of those responsible for this mess are picking up the bill for it. The regulators that failed so spectacularly are still in work, politicians are still lining their pockets and the financial institutions are making a killing from debt repayments on debts run up to bail them out. The ordinary tax paying citizen is being robbed, it's a transfer of wealth on an unimaginable scale. Its not a conspiracy theory, their policies are pretty well documented. There have been a multitude of very incompetent people elected over the years from both political parties. -
The left doesn't have a monopoly on emotionally lead responses. Try dropping a crucifix in a glass of urine. You will see a fairly emotional response from the right as well. Can you say ballistic! I was going to make that point as well, but discussion about it is forbidden.

As long as there are corporate lobbyists, the government is compromised to the interests of corporation and cannot be trusted to be non partial when it comes to corporations.

I am more worried about civilian aircraft. Military aircraft have safeguards, like white phosphorus flairs and exhaust dampening. Civilian aircraft are far more vulnerable. Imagine 10,000 9/11's without the world trade center, happening all over the world. This reaches far wider than just the few countries that looked the other way. After a few get blow out of the sky by stinger missiles, they will start putting defense systems on civilian airliners. Seeing as how they always wait until after the fact before they take measures to defend against it. I think Israel has already done this on some of their airlines. -
My father, who was a former Liberal, big left wing guy told me the main flaw in that ideology, is the people are completely emotion driven, and often don't think very logically, and form opinions based on emotion instead of facts, logic and common sense. Using things like playing the frustrations of the poor and using it as a means of class warfare is one means of emotion based politics, and ideology. But in the real world it doesn't make a lot of sense seeing as how the rich are the ones hiring people and creating jobs. The tree huggers are 100% emotion driven people, there is no logic or common sense at all behind their actions or agenda.

They will end up being fired at US choppers in Iraq and Afghanistan. I dunno if anyone remembers the defeat the Soviet Union had in Afghanistan, but they went from raising hell in Afghanistan with choppers, to them dropping out of the sky in mass when we handed them shoulder fired surface to air missiles. They work just as good on US choppers. -

crimsonblade1 replied to kvnchrist's topic in Debates
The main reason we are in this economic crisis is because the government got involved in areas it shouldn't be getting involved in. Like telling banks who they should be loaning more money to. Right, because the government regulating banks is what caused the crisis. I am sure someone else can reply to that better then I can. HeyYou and others can tell you why that is the complete opposite of what happened. If no one else replies I guess I will, but I am pretty terrible at writing about economic things. If you look at history, I think the Carter Administration started policies which helped low income people get housing they could not otherwise afford. I'm sure the banks were delighted to get government money to subsidize these loans, but just as with any good intention, the government didn't follow through and regulate the use of this policy. They gave guidelines that the banks, in their zeal for profit staked the deck against us all and the deck fell on all of us. Community_Reinvestment_Act. All this began a long time ago, with a very good intending President. The bureaucrats care only for job security, theirs, and the banks care only for their bottom line. Correct. Giving loans to people that can't afford to pay them back is a recipe for disaster. I blame our government 100% for the current economic situation. I'm not going to single out one administration, its the entire government over many years that is responsible for this. Obama is contributing to the problems instead of solving them, which will in turn make the worse. -
and all you gotta do is kill someone, but no biggie, he might be innocent so he gets to chill under the benefits you listed for life! If I was in charge, there would be no chilling in prison, there would be chain gangs doing public works projects, and growing/canning their own food on prison farms to alleviate some of the cost from the taxpayers. They would be kept too busy to be fighting each other in the yard and other random acts of prison violence. And they might even learn good work ethic in the process and have a chance in getting and keeping a job when they get out of prison.

Someone who puts their own interests, or some other nations interests over that of their own nation, then they cannot be a patriot. Someone of the later, I might even consider to be a traitor.

I am sure some modder could include spears/crossbows in the game sometime in the future if they wanted to. I'm just glad we are getting another TES game.

Brother needs to upgrade computer
crimsonblade1 replied to ub3rman123's topic in Hardware and software discussion
I would recommend spending at least $120- $150 USD on a GPU, it would get you a middle of the road GPU, which is good enough to play games on low to medium settings. Here is an ASUS GTX 550 for $129.99, or $109.99 after mail-in rebate a decent GPU for the price. ASUS makes quality products, and has a 3 year manufacturer warranty. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121435&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&PageSize=10&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&IsFeedbackTab=true#scrollFullInfo Here is a 500W power supply with a 6 pin connector for $39.99: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182038 Here is a 2GB stick of DDR3 1333Mhz for $12.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820576001 This PSU will work with the above video card. Which requires only one 6 pin connector. It will cost less than $200 for all this. I found these from a quick search, could probably find a better deal if I looked for 30 minutes. And lots of these newer GPUs are pretty huge and wont fit in mini towers. Says the dimensions are Height:16.23" Width: 7.09" Depth: 16.27", This sounds like at least a mid tower. The dimensions of the above GPU are 9.54" x 5.5" x 1.54". I think you will be ok, but it depends on how things are arranged inside of the tower. You could take a tape measure or a ruler, and see how much space you got from the back of the case to where it hits on the inside right over the PCI E slot. For the money invested, that would be a phenomenal upgrade over what your brother already has. The difference would be night and day. Also you might need help plugging the new PSU in because it will require you unplug the old one and all of the chords and hook everything back up. Its not exactly easy if you never done it before. -
A group of noobs has no chance against a veteran griefer, lol. They either turn tail and run, and get back stabbed 1hko, or they rush straight at you and attack, and still get backstabbed 1hko. But you can't really call them griefers just because they play and win. They might be trying to get pure black character tendency, or get their body back. I would agree that people that frequently invade low levels just to beat up noobs are griefers. A lot of them invade with bulls*** like Dragon +5 weapons, Fatal Estoc +5, Northern Regalia, etc. Noobs got no chance against that. im not saying a low lvl invader is a griefer, im saying a low lvl invader with the mentioned equipment is a griefer...i can beat many griefer no prob. equipment doesnt make the player. many noobs grab that equipment and try to grief, but suck, so i can beat them no prob. i just like having the extra player or two with me for those that kind of know what they are doing. 2-3 players good players can beat even a skilled griefer. even if im cooping with a noob, hes still a distraction to the griefer and just a pawn, a sacrifice if you will in the greater scheme of things  but to the end, i never cared about dieing. there was never a time where i thought "oh s*** there is not way im gunna get my blood stain back" and even if i died and lost all my souls, which ive done many many many times, through stupidity (rolling into enemies and messing around for the fun of it) it was very easy to get souls again, even large amounts. plus when you know what ur doing, lvling up isnt as important....sl 1 royal was a very run run through...want a real challange though, do a sl 9 barbarian with starting equipment the whole way through, hard and fun! so pumped for Dark Souls ahhhh You would still need a clever rats ring for hyper mode at the very least with the barbarian, or you won't be doing more than single digit damage to some of the later bosses. I did punch the Vanguard to death in the tutorial one time.

Justice is good because it sends a message, those who are criminals and harm other people will be punished for their crimes, and in some cases the penalty could be your life. I have never once felt sorry for a convicted murderer being sentenced to death, I don't care how many people are crying for mercy on the TV screen, I got not a feeling in my heart for them.

They are just guessing on this. Political ideology has more to do with upbringing and personal life experience than anything else. A lot of former liberals actually turn conservative when they get older. My father and mother were both big California hippies back in the day, now both are conservative.

Someone who puts the interests of their Nation and its people above ALL else. A true American Patriot would put the interests of America first, over that of any other nation, or the rest of the world for that matter.
