  1. And now years later I'm experiencing the same problem. The odd texture look you got was due to the fact that you were pasting an incorrect texture onto an object, seeing how you just renamed texture files. I was hoping there'd be a more up to date fix to this problem though.

  2. I think the strength of The Witcher series is in the main character and the fact that while you can adjust his behaviour, you can't change his past. Geralt of Rivia is a much deeper character than Dragonborn or any other Bethesda game protagonist. Having a blank character is not a bad thing - you can think of a background for him/her and act accordingly. But the richness of The Witcher stories could not have been achieved without a pre-written character.

That's why I think the best choice for the next Witcher game character would be young Vesemir. It's a character who we know and love and yet whose past is obscure enough that interesting stories can be written about him. He can travel around visiting witcher schools, train young Geralt maybe, and from HoS we know he too was a ladies' man.

  3. Hello!

I am making a video about The Witcher, but don't have all the footage I need. Don't want to use youtube footage. Would anyone be as kind as to share with me a save file before conversation with a talking ghoul in Vizima cemetery? Additionally I'd appreciate a save file before the reception in New Narakort inn (or any save file close to DeWett character).

    Thanks.

  4. For reference... Over-modded Skyrim, countless textures packs, large and small, NPC mods, NPC additional spawns, 194 plugins, 43Gb Skyrim dir. I cannot play without ENBBoost features because I reach 3.1 RAM limit on loading screen.

Did some tests with speedmult 1500, tcl, tgm, timescale 15000 and normal gameplay. Flew around the map couple of times. No Safety Load.

    Before the fix:

    uGridsToLoad 5, 99% stable

    uGridsToLoad 7, freeze/ctd usually within 30 min

uGridsToLoad 9, 5 minutes if I was lucky

uGridsToLoad 11, infinite loading or instant freeze after

uGridsToLoad 13, didn't even bother trying

    After fix:

Just to see if it works, went straight to uGridsToLoad 11...

uGridsToLoad 11, it worked, no problems

uGridsToLoad 13, it worked, however even with a I5 3570k @ 4.5Ghz, I was getting like ~20 fps and was getting too much stutter because of my HDD is not an SSD

uGridsToLoad 15, sub 20 fps, broken quests, massive loading screens, even more stuttering.. HDD can't keep up

uGridsToLoad 17, ~10fps, broken quests, even longer loading screens, reached the 3.1Gb RAM usage limit (CTD), even with ENBoost features.

uGridsToLoad 19, 3.1Gb RAM usage on loading screen (CTD), even with ENBoost features.

Conclusion... This is a miracle and you have to try it to believe it. Skyrim is FIXED, Thank you Sheson

HOW? How are you doing this? I am doing the same thing and yet it crashes with just some graphical mods on a decent rig! I am about ready to start smashing my head against a wall.

  5. Well, I haven't play-tested the game. I stress-tested it. Set uGrids to 7 (uExterior Cell Buffer to 64 accordingly), started a new game (with alternate start), increased movement speed by 300, toggled noclip and would run around. After a few minutes it crashes. I was kind of hoping to get it all nice and stable. Finally have a decent PC that should handle the amount of mods that I need.

  6. Hello

So I am not new to modding. I have successfully used mods for all Beth games starting with Morrowind. So trust me when I tell you I am thorough at reading guides and following all the precautions. And trust me when I say I've exhausted every single option before posting here.

My issue: I'm trying to pack up some Skyrim mods for a new playthrough. Not too many, just some of my favorite ones. I follow all the guidelines for stability, and yet I can't seem to get rid of CTDs. I made sure to properly install SSME and Safety Load, edited the SKSE.ini with Sheson's tweak and everything. And yet when I test the game, it inevitably crashes at some point. I have followed every possible STEP advice. I have no idea what I am missing. My PC is rather decent (980ti SLI included), so I don't think I'm pushing Skyrim over what it can handle.

So I am looking for someone savvy to help me with this issue. Please do not let my hours of careful modding be in vain.

  7. Hello

Like described in this topic , my game crashes when I approach the cell with my Lakeview Manor. I've loaded the previous save and I think I've narrowed down the time when the crashes started. It began after I planted some stuff in the garden. I've read somewhere that planting Wheat can cause this. So would anyone happen to know if it's possible to remove Lakeview manor additions (like Garden) via console?

    Thanks

  8. Hello! I am experiencing the same issue. Only I don't have Scenic Carriages installed. As the OP said, I cannot get anywhere near Lakeview Manor. The game just crashes. Are there any console commands to completely reset the construction? (I have currently completed the whole building along with Armory, Trophy Room and an Enchanter's Tower). I've read somewhere that planting Wheat in the Garden can cause a crash. Well I did plant it. But I can't even get close to the place to try and disable it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  9. Hello!

I've been monitoring my Skyrim performance with performance monitor. And it looks like at times I'm having major GPU spikes. Interestingly, the game runs smoothly in the lower points, and then stutters as GPU% spikes up. Is there some way to optimize GPU usage?

  10. Hello folks!

I've encountered an issue with Wispmother in Skyrim. I fight her, I kill her and at the moment of her death, there is a brief blueish explosion beneath my character (no matter how far I am from the Wispmother), then the screen turns grey and that's it. I can still hear sound of my companion walking around, but I can do nothing, but load a game. Would anybody happen to know why this happens and how to fix this?
