Hi all, I was hoping if someone with enough technical exp can advise me on how best to configure an xbox 360 controller via steam , so that all hotkeys from 1 through to 10 are easily accessible? Most controller profiles/setups I've seen online have buttons assigned for practically every purpose, save for hotkeys 5 to 8! Its maddeining to say the least.

Me too...Its so frustrating...Even Hickory's suggestion didn't work for me, as my 'save ini' action results in a ctd... grrr

Hi all, I've recently had this problem where I'm unable to load my saves after uninstalling certain mods? And the troubling thing is they aren't even complex archives or overhauls, but simple ones like a single esp, or the removal of 1 esp and two (OBSE) ini files etc that screws up my saves, with that dreaded red tick... Isn't wrye bash smart enough to be able to 'roll back' to the previous state (after using BOSS, rebuilding the patch) when you uninstall an archive/mod? I just cannot believe that my saves are nullified of because I choose to remove/uninstall just one esp, like for an amulet or a single spell...I uncheck the esp first in the mods tab, then go to the installers tab, and right click and select uninstall for the particular atchive, but most times I can't even load the game, and if I'm lucky I can get to the main menu, but my most recent saves are screwed and I have to start a new game.. I'm using the standalone WBash version 304.3, with the GOTY Steam version, and I'm sure I've got all the crucial default settings enabled...

UPDATE: Thanks to 'Shadowlasher's helpful pointers, I've managed to isolate and 'standardize' key aspects of my Steam/Oblivion installation, and correct erroneous folder locations, etc...my saves with my latest character can load with no problems now, however, my Darnified UI fonts now appear waay too large and in thick Bold font...my screen also looks waaay too bright/whitewashed...aaarggh, now I will have to fix that via the Oblivion ini file I think... :ninja: :ninja:

Thanks to all who replied...I have followed all recommendations, installed it to C:/Games, followed bben64's wiki article, went into my registry, tried to launch the game using both OBSE and non OBSE methods, made sure the 'in game setting' was enabled...the game won't even run to the opening titles..what a waste of money...I wonder what it would take for win 8.1 and Steam Oblivion to play nice...thank heck I haven't thrown away my physical copy of Oblivion..if only I could port over the extra DLCS from the steam download over to my 'main' Oblivion installation..

I agree totally...I even turned off all the 'extra' DLS and just ticked the Oblivion master ESM, still no dice...I installed the steam client at various locations, from the program files (x86), to the program files (which I learnt from google was the 64 bit version of (x86)) and even straight to the desktop...am currently downloading Oblivion to the C:\Users\name\Documents\My Games folder and see how it 'behaves' there..

I too have the same problem as you Shadow..except that mine was a standalone purchase, not part of any 'Anthology'? Its a purely digital download, no disks etc..

Hi Striker yes I did enable the ingame steam community setting...I'm not sure what you mean abt the OBSE bit though...shoudn't the digital download work off the bat even without OBSE though?

Hi all, I've just downloaded/purchased the steam version of Oblivion (Deluxe version), after playing the disc version for some time now...and guess what, after clicking on the launcher, I get stuck at this small window that tells me that the game is preparing to launch...I've only just installed the latest version of OBSE, could this have something to do with it, any other win 8.1/Steam Oblivion players out there with the same issue?

Hi all, I was lucky enough to download this player house mod from the Oblivion Real estate website before it shut for good..I can't find the key to access the teleporter behind the locked cabinet door, can anyone out there with this mod kindly give me pointers where I can locate it? The modder's name is 'Isendel', I don't think its on Nexus?

Appreciate the tip...with regards to AFK weye, I used the included RR/ll patch provided by Arthmoor, made sure the load order was correct also...all of the farm houses show up pretty good, except Pilpen Nigilius's farmhouse...a hunch tells me that when I run TES4Qlod, it fails to detect that one house, thus planting vertices in that quad where there shouldn't? That's my best guess..

Hi all, So I've managed to finally install Region Revive/Lake Rumare and get it integrated properly with UL Imperial Isle and LTPD...however this one farm house, the one where Staron eventually goes to work to, is buried so badly the characters aren't able to work/ head indoors, as even the front door is buried... :wallbash: I have no idea what is causing the glitch, I've downloaded all appropriate patches, and the closest mod I have in that area is VH bloodlines (SI version) and I have no problems with that one, plus I've followed the correct load order as stated in the respective readme's of both mods.. Below is a link to 3 snapshots I've taken which shows the extent of the glitch... Ok I've reinstalled Belda Elysium twice, but can't seem to start the any quests, even when my character is still in the early stages of the MQ.. I've read through the walkthrough, but I never get the option where Boney is 'singing the Septim song' when I click on the crystal ball (on the desk where all the keys and notes are) all I get are two options asking whether I want my ingredients sorted or not.. Any one experienced this before? I love the house but its maddening to not be able to trigger any quests from it!

Hi gang... I really could use some help... I just upgraded to a GT 610 Asus/Nividia video card...now I can't even get Oblivion to load my saves without CTDing... I've tried most things, like deleting my render and Oblivion ini file, to try and eliminate any 'unacceptable' settings that the game won't recognise... but its so temperamental that I'm done using trial and error... If anyone can advise me on which settings I can safely apply via the Nividia control panel, it would be a huge step in the right direction...much appreciated...

Erggh, alas, my 'solution' was only short lived... So I went ahead to install more mods, not much so far, just 15, let BOSS sort my load order, then rebuilt my bashed patch...tried to launch Oblivion /with the launch Oblivion+ OBSE 20.6 button in the task bar, and I get that dreaded black screen where it cuts out after a few seconds... This only happened only after I rebuilt my bashed path, although I suspect it might have been something to do with my ini edits, I have no idea how this may have happened, only tried to do the most basic edits, and Win 7 has always played along nicely with Oblivion so far... I highlighted the area I couldn't tweak, don't know what the heck I did wrong :wallbash:

Gosh, I actually solved it just minutes after writing my post...if anyone else is having this error, go to the DATA file, then OBLIVION, then delete all the loose files there, except the 'saves' folder...I tried that, and it worked for me, at least now I can start the game... :happy: :rolleyes:

Hi all, I've just upgraded to Windows 8 Pro (64 bit) from Win 7, and am having trouble getting Oblivion to run; I manage to get to the options/data files screen, but when I click 'play', the screen goes black, and comes up with the 'Oblivion has stopped working' message.. I'm using the GOTY Australian/UK retail edition, and I've only just installed the first disc, no patches, official or otherwise, and Win 8 doesn't even recognise vanilla Oblivion.. I'm using a regular Users account, have tried installing it to a separate drive outside of the default C:\ drive, as well as to the "my games folder" under "documents", all to no avail.. I'm hoping that there are more experienced users out there who can help with this, if indeed Windows 8 flat out is incompatible with Oblivion, then you have the single most compelling reason to not upgrade as far as I'm concerned... :pinch:

Don't know if anyone has encountered this before, but if you don't have 500 septims when the questgiver approaches you initially, he kinda goes awol even after you have the money...the cave shows up in my game, I can fast travel there, but the man is nowhere to be found, too bad its inconsistent that way, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, the man is AWOL
