1. I would like to apologize to Halororor for everything i said with at the steam and disk thread. I would also like to apologize for hijacking the thread and turning it into a personal battle. If my parents thought me nothing else they at least thought me to admit and own up to my mistakes and that is what i am doing now.

    Sincere Apologies

  2. What you are suggesting sounds great in theory. But the problem is it would require a massive effort by a dedicated team of modders. Like Project Brazil or Fallout wanderers edition. Im not trying to be rude but it is very unlikely that a mod like that will manage to see the light of day. Maybe once MZC crew is done and the FO3 community moves on to new vegas though......
  3. I wasn't lying i was misinformed and calling someone pathetic is very rude. Remember this: I have only recently moved from console to PC so i was probably out of place to post here, furthermore as stated above i also rarely buy PC games from retail so please just build a bridge and get over it.
  4. Accusing someone of blatantly lying and pointing out misinformation are 2 different things.

lie 2 (lhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/imacr.gif)n.1. A false statement deliberately presented as being true; a falsehood.2. Something meant to deceive or give a wrong impression.v. lied, ly·ing (lhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/imacr.gifhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/prime.gifhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/ibreve.gifng), lies v.intr.1. To present false information with the intention of deceiving.2. To convey a false image or impression: Appearances often lie.

    mis·in·form (mhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/ibreve.gifshttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/lprime.gifhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/ibreve.gifn-fôrmhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/prime.gif)tr.v. mis·in·formed, mis·in·form·ing, mis·in·forms To provide with incorrect information.

I apologize for giving false information but accusing someone of blatantly lying is bound to get a bad reaction. So please in the future don't immediately assume someone who gives false information is doing so deliberately.

Your like a zealous revolutionary going on about my "lies". Pleas stop being so hostile and acknowledge that not everyone in the world is as perfect as you and some of us dont have the price list of games memorized. I apologize yet again for giving false information but nothing i posted was posted with the goal to deceive. Just let it go

PS.You are using pre ordered pc games, the cheapest form of games in south africa so get me a list of off the shelf console release and show me how far off I was

  6. let me point out: A) those are either pre orders or games that have been out for a long time and B) You have managed to take a thread about where to buy games from into a argument about south African games prices , Ok i admit i should have done more research before posting it but there is really no need to go out of your way to make me the lying stupid idiotic bad guy. This forum is supposed to be fun not a place where a every detail of every post is to be examined and verified.
  7. TakeAlot? I have never heard of that place i buy mostly at BT games and thats where i get my prices from.
PS. Why are you being so hostile? If I read that list right you ordered them from overseas and had them shiped to you. That is why you are getting better prices. Seriously are you always this hostile or am i special?
8. I play for the challenge. Since my mother bought a me my Atari i have been hooked on video games and i consider them my hobby and passion. I mainly play role-playing games and sometimes shooters ( but if the plot has anything to do with Russians i stay clear). So i gues you could call me a hardcore gamer
  9. I'm sorry. I live in SA, and show me where Skyrim costs R700 in a retail store, please. I don't think even the console version costs that much.

If you want to lie, at least do it somewhere where there aren't fellow South Africans who can point out your lies.

It was an estimate. R700 is the average price for a video game in south africa so i used it. It was never a precise calculation and acusing someone of lying when they used a estimates is pretty rude. Im pretty sure the price at launch was R650 or something so please think it through before you blatantly accuse someone of lying.

  10. Here is another observation: in south africa skyrim is R700 in a retail store, whereas it is $60(?) on steam. 6x7=42x10= R420.

Do you see the difference between what i pay in a retail store and what i pay on steam.

  11. I am getting a bit annoyed at people blaming Bioware for things that are really the fault of EA.

So its rumored that EA has sacked a whopping 200 bioware employees.

I specificlly stated it was EA.

It looks like this is the end of SWTOR then. Honestly the whole MMO was nothing but a cash grab and a spit in the face off all the long time KOTOR fans so good riddance i say.

  12. I prefer steam, mostly because with a disk version you have to fish out the disk to run it, whereas steam requires a simple click. It is also cheaper than in stores ( mostly cause i dont have to pay tax for online purchases ) . You also don't have to worry bout losing the disk with steam, the only downside is it doesn't have a paper manual included and it takes longer to download your games. So all in all i think steam is the best choice.
  13. TSA= Trained Sexual Assailants How do things like this even still happen in this day and age? I mean how can we feel safe when the people who are "protecting" us are more crooked then the terrorists they try to stop.
  14. I agree with both choices: Piracy is bad and there is also a waste of time trying to control. The reason is that a normal person cant really do anything about piracy, cant tell them to stop, cant call the police. but it is also killing the games industry. The only people with the ability to do anything about piracy are also the people who don't give a rats ass about it. :wallbash:

    rant over

  15. I disagree, piracy definitely costs a company thousands if not millions of dollars and the reason is most pirates i have encountered`s mentality: why should i pay for it when takes is a few clicks tp get it for free. As long as pirating something is a option developers will be relying on peoples conscience`s to get the money they deserve for there work, which is hardly reliable. DRM is nothing but the reaction by corporate idiots in suits to the idea that they might lose a few dollars. And as always the corporations idea only made the problem worse. But DRM is being treated as a problem on its own, it is only one of the side effects of piracy and should be treated as such.
  16. I live in South Africa so i guess I'm the one laughing :D Is the ban only effective till they fix whatever doohicky that looked too much like Motorola`s or is it permanent? If the latter is the case then i think the American government is going to be seeing a LOT of black market activity.
  17. I think you're forgetting those people who feel jaded because of draconian DRM policy that essentially removes their right to play the game they legally purchased. Such as Ubisoft which demands a constant online connection to play a singleplayer game, or EA who can (and has) banned people from being able to play/install ALL games on their service for altering game files, making posts on the forums, and other minor things. In these cases the DRM doesn't do a damn thing about piracy and only serves to limit the rights of the customer.

DRM, time and time again also proves to be completely ineffective about stopping piracy, and in more than a few cases (Diablo 3 most recently) became an attractive alternative even for those who would happily buy the game but don't want to deal with having to stay online, or deal with connection/account issues in a single player game.

What you are talking about is DRM abuse. Anything can be abused no matter how benevolent its nature. If they poll meant DRM abuse then it should have stated so. DRM in itself is not that big a threat, DRM abuse is.It looks like because of experiences like the ones mentioned above people have decided that DRM and DRM abuse is one in the same.

  18. Piracy is the police`s job to control, but if i called know to report someone for piracy i promise you the operator would just hang up on the spot. DRM is just the corporations half ass attempt at stopping piracy since the law wont do anything. All those people who are whining about DRM are just people who think they deserve better than being treated like a pirate. Though i realy cant see how DRM is a threat to anything( exept sales of course).
