  1. You wait 5-seconds for each file you want to download, regardless of their size or whether they are part of the same mod, or not. You get a nag screen that is a copy of the awful fire sharing sites like Rapidshare or Mediafire. Once you select the Slow Download, you are taken to the old download page, where you have to wait a bit longer until the download actually begins. Then finally, to add insult to the injury, clicking to go back to the Files page of the mod you were on refreshed the page instead of bringing you the cached copy, meaning that on mods that have loads of files, you have to start from the top again. This isn't much of a problem if you're just downloading a single file, but some mods have a dozen or two dozens files thanks to compatibility or customization reasons.
  2. Amazing show from all the Premium users, thank you for your valuable white knighting of Nexus. I'm sure it made all of us filthy freeloaders to promptly run to purchase Premium membership. Getting multiple nag screens for every file, regardless of its size, is just amazing, and it's also fantastic when you're downloading multiple files (compatibility patches for example) from the same page, because the nag screen breaks Chrome's memory of where you were on the download files page. But it wouldn't be the first time when a website or a service overreaches in a strange obsession for expansion and collapses into bankruptcy.
  3. I don't understand why some people have an obsessive need to defend corporations, big or small. Whether it's an international giant like Apple or Google, or a little studio or a web-service, there's always a customer who cannot stand for any criticism against their beloved "friend". In a sense, it's similar to religion and just like a religion, it's completely pointless - a critic is not going to be converted by a blind zealot, nor is the target of white-knighting ever going to reward such behaviour. This is a terrible change and ridiculous defence isn't going to solve it. I'm lucky that I just got my Skyrim SE modded up the way I wanted before this change happened because no way would I have jumped through this ridiculous combination of hoops to get all the mods that looked interesting. And no, annoying me is not going to get me to give you money. It only makes me want to look for an alternative or to go without. Nexus has for years championed on being the one-stop source for all modding but other platforms do exist. Perhaps ModDB can be the answer. And I agree with Hellfrog that doing this in secret without any announcement is just the extra middle finger on top.
