  1. i get messages that say i defended a settlement without having gone there. Not sure if its a mod compatibility issue or what but a settlement with an 800 defense should take care of itself. It could have something to do with my sentry bots. I set up several robot only settlements and run all my supply lines with sentry bots from those hubs. There are sentry bots all over the place blowing up stuff. When i go to defend a settlement when they are there i dont have to do much. Pity the fool who attacks one of those sentry bot hubs. As previously stated there will always be a 2% chance of attack so you cant get around the occasional defend message but the well defended locations should defend themselves and they do for me. Wish i could tell you why that doesnt seem to be working for you.

  2. My favorite cant live without mod was a request that was granted. I was lamenting the lack of a shiny black finish for the X-01 to make it look like the enclave armor from the original games F1, F2. Moraelin said he had a personal mod to do that and a couple of us begged him to publish it.

  3. I keep calling Piper.... Veronica. I'm not sure what that says about the games or the NPC's. FNV is my favorite out of the series even if the DLC Dead Money was extremely annoying. I hate it when they take your stuff away.

     

    I think Father did transfer himself into Shaun but he became one dimensional so as far as I'm concerned it didn't work. My favorite part about Shaun is telling Proctor Ingram he is a synth and he should blow up real good. The voice acting for that part was quite good Ingram really seemed shocked, horrified, somewhat confused and conflicted.

  4. I like that the end is not the end as in previous games. I put off the main quest in early playthroughs but now I tend to get that part out of the way before doing the DLC's and other side quests.

  5. its all about the sandbox. If you just run strait across its not much fun. You have to stop and build a sandcastle, dig for treasure, fling some cat poo at the other kids, you get the analogy. Nuka World has a side quest with Sierra Petrovita that I thought was the best part of Nuka World. The fallout lore is still there you just have to look for it. There are tons of hidden easter eggs as well. Like that bar near swans pond. I walked in there and when I got down to the end of the bar the recognition hit me. I laughed, I almost cried, I looked around for something to take as a memento. That's what I call immersion. Unfortunate that the younger generation wont get that easter egg or have any clue what Walden pond is all about. It seems to me a lot of the bad reviews come from young punks who just didn't get it.

  6. that would make the chinese assault rifle much better than the american one. SKS loads the magazine with stripper clips so you only need one magazine that is reloaded as quickly as changing magazines. Steyr 1911 better than Colt 1911 for the same reason. How many times do you reload during a typical game firefight? Probably not more than twice. I just assume the game doesnt want to waste your time reloading clips between firefights.

  7. Yay someone made the lone wanderer roadworthy. Gonna build a ramp and jump the gorge at Sanctuary lol. Motorcycle is the vehicle I have been looking for since colleting gas tanks and handlebars in F3. I was cheesed off when I found out they were not for building a motorcycle. I thought it was like collecting parts for the corvega in F2. Had XRE cars for FNV with the vertibird mod as well. Finally a bike

  8. not sure if this is helpful as I don't know how to fix it once it happens. The build your own pool mod will remove your pip boy if you go swimming. To stop this mod from doing that you have to open the menu listed at the bottom of the misc items and tell it not to remove the pipboy.when you go in water. There may be other mods that remove the pip boy but that's the one I know about.

  9. Vehicles in the fallout games have been a fast travel device. F2 had the corvega with storage in the trunk that didn't always follow the car. Now we have the vertibird taxi. The XRE mods for FNV are impressive when you get them to work. I swear its like steam doesn't want you to use them every time I get things running smoothly an update mucks it up. Driving a '56 Chevy across the Mohave is pretty badass though. The veribird lets you fly around and shoot at stuff with some weapons options. I hope when the script extender is reliable the XRE team has a go at F4. I really want to see a functional Lone Wanderer motorcycle.

  10. There is a mod for FNV called XRE Cars. The link in the last post has some hover bike things for F4. Neither of them work very well. FNV also has a XRE vertibird mod. Both games run on the same engine so it could be done

  11. I recently tried the XRE cars mod. It worked right out of the box but every time steam updates it gets broken. Updates always reset fallout.ini to read only and finds a way to break the mod. Now I get an H51 error message. Its like steam is deliberately trying to break that mod

  12. nuka world required sacrificing 3 settlements. Guess who was the first to go. After killing all the raiders I went back to the slog and wiped out the raiders there and started recruiting all new settlers. Arlen Glass was a total disappointment I never did see a working buttercup on any playthrough. I thought it would be another dog like companion or pack horse.

  13. I tried to disable the little door and got an error message about a state parent being enabled. I messed around and disabled the wall around the door by accident. Then I reloaded the save and disable the next wall over. that was weird because it made a one way wall you could go in but not out. So I disabled the other side of the wall and that came out decent

  14. Nuka world changes things if you go far enough along the raider quest to start setting up raider bases in the commonwealth. You do have the option of killing the raiders. Preston will forgive you if you do that so you can still get the extra perks then set things right. Nuka world gives you the option of becoming a raider warlord how far you want to take it is up to you. Nuka world is big and has a lot of stuff going on it adds a lot to the game.

     

    Vault tech gives you a very large underground build area and all the vault building tile sets. Not a very lengthy storyline but the vault is huge and takes a while to explore. Kind of like the Automatron DLC where the story isn't extensive but you get to make robots when your done.

     

    Far harbor was pretty good. Nuka world and Far harbor are the only real DLC's the others are more like add on build sets with short stories to back them up
