  1. If there's something I really don't like in Skyrim, this is the followers. Because they can't die. It doesn't matter if they are fighting a dragon with their bare hands, or they are hit by one hundred arrows; they just take a knee, the enemy forget about them and a few seconds later they are back to the fight, totally unharmed. As far as I understand, all followers are flagged as PROTECTED, meaning they can be killed only by the player. They are not ESSENTIAL, meaning they simply can't die, not even by the player's hand; however, whereas it's quite easy to remove the essential flag using the console, apparently there's no command to remove the protected flag. I also tried some mods, like Amazing Follower Tweaks, Enhanced Followers Framework and NPC Protection Tweaks, but for some reason they don't work: even tweaking the follower status to unprotected, he/she still won't die (in fact in AFT the follower can die but he automatically resuscitates after the combat, which sucks.) Volatile Followers looks as the only mod that works (according to the comments in the mod page), but unfortunately it was never ported to SSE so I can't use it. Do you have any idea/recommendation/suggestion if it is possible to remove the follower's protected status in SSE?
  2. Hello, I am looking for an interactive map of Oblivion, where it is possible to place new markers, add notes etc - let's say, something like Google Maps. I found something similar called UESP unofficial Oblivion maps, but unfortunatly it doesn't give you the chance to place new markers or write notes on it, that is what I really would like to do.
  3. I think the problem with the confusion arising from multiple markers can be easily solved with the use of labels, as suggested by yourself. Consider the multiple markers have already been introduced by the Map Marker Overhaul you recommend; in fact, this mod already gives you the chance to put more flags at the same time, but unfortunatly only at player`s position, whereas I would like to have the chance to place them in any point of the map (actaully, I`m surprised the auhtor didn`t introduce this feature). Do you think it is possible to do that?
  4. By default, the game gives you the chance to place one single blue flag on the map (I'm not speaking about the red/green ones that appear automatically); I just would like to have the chance to place multiple blue markers on the map, in any point of it and not only at player's position; I could use it to mark all open quests, and to delete them manually once the quest is completed - in fact, it is like if you had a paper map and want to write a note on it. I think it would be very realistic and you shouldn't go continuosly through your log to check what to do where. Isn't there any chance to realize something like this?
  5. Hi, thank you for your answer, unfortunatly the mod you mention it only allows to place new markers on the map on the place where you are: so for example, if I`m in the Imperial City and I receive a quest in a location near Chedynal, I can`t place a new marker in that location coz I`m not there. This mod is probably useful if you are in a location and want to mark it coz you are planning to come back, but it hardly helps to keep track of all active quests.
  6. One of the things that I really don't like about Oblivion, is the fact you don't have the possibility to place muliple markers on the map at the same time. I'm speaking about the blue flag you activate with shift+left click, potentially very useful if you want to mark something on the map but practically useless considering you can't place more than one the map, despite the dozens of quests and locations you need to remember. This really pissed me off, as I'm constantly browsing through the dozens of open quests reported on my log to check if there is something I'm supposed to do in the vicinity of any location I move from/to. I've long searched for a mod able to fix this problem but I've found nothing - the only similar one, called Multiple Map Markers, allows you to place a marker only on locations where you currently are, but not in a place you are far from. Therefore, I was considering to start working on a mod like this on my own. Unfortunatly, I have no modding experience at all and, before starting with this project, I'd like some advice from more experienced users: in particular, if it is possible to create a mod like this (I'm surprised nobody thought of it so far!) and, if so, how to procees (in particular, if there is any tutorial I can refer to). Even better, if somebody offered to help me I'd be very glad.
  7. I've installed Deadly Reflex 5 some time ago but I`m still trying to understand how it works, especially with critical attacks. From what I understand from the readme, criticals are triggered by power attacks, but I still don`t get the logic: even if sometimes I get a critical, it seems to me it is totally random, as sometimes it happens with the first hit, sometimes when the enemy is almost dead - I`d like to understand if it is really by chance or if I can rather influence it somehow. Moreover, the readme reports critical attacks now cause from 6x to 9x damage, that should be much more than in vanilla oblivion (from what I know, the default multiplier in vanilla is just 2.5x, even though the readme reports 6,25x), but I don`t have this impression at all when I use them - ok they cause more damage, but not as much as 9 normal hits! Could somebody more experienced illuminate me please?
  8. Midas indeed adds at least one quest, as I entered the Astral Realm and my log was updated with a new quest, even though the message reported is quite cryptic; I just wonder if this is the only quest or there are more to discover? Are they somehow associated with the creation of new spells? Are they worth to be played?
  9. Finally an answer! Ok, first of all, thank you very much for your reply; as you look quite experienced with this mod, you could maybe help me with another question. I was considering to uninstall this mod, as I don't like the way it works; anyway, I've read somewhere it also introduces new quests, so it could maybe be worth to keep it installed just to try them Could you please explain to me how many new quests this mod adds and how to start them? Do they involve the creation of some midas' spell?
  10. 969,336 downloads for this mod and not a single reply? I'm a bit disappointed...come on guyz, I'm sure you can help me! At least with the most important spells...
  11. I recently downloaded Midas Magic mod, apparently it works well, I found the shop and bought the book listing all new spells, they look great, anyway I was surprised that there is no description of the skill level and/or magicka amount required for each of them. Actually, this is quite a problem for me, as my character is still low-level and his skills and attributes are not that good; in fact, considering the ingredients required for the spells are in some cases very rare and/or expensive, I risk to spend a lot of time to find them and eventually I wouldn't even be able to cast my new spell!! Therefore, I was thinking: is it possible that, despite Midas Magic being one of the most downloaded mods ever, there isn't a list reporting the skills and magicka required for each spell? If so, do you think anybody would be so kind to prepare it? I'm sure the whole Nexus community would be grateful to whoever will do that
  12. Thank you for your reply. A couple of questions: - if I install both mods, don't I risk they will conflict with each other? - I installed low poly grass to increase the FPS, as vanilla's grass seriously affects the frame rate; won't Natural Vegetation conflict with it? - overall, how much these mods affect FPS?
  13. Hello, I'm undecided which of these two mods to install: - NATURAL ENVIRONMENTS: one of the most endorsed mods ever, it adds a lot of environmental components: new weather, animals, vegetation etc; unfortunately, many people complain it is full of bugs (especially part concerning the weather changes) - WEATHER - ALL NATURAL: apparently, less bugged than the other, but it alters the weather only (please correct me if I'm wrong) Also, I'd like to know if these mods have any impact on the FPS rate (I'm already struggling to keep a decent FPS!) and, if so, which one would have less impact (this is one of the main aspects I take into consideration)
  14. Thank you for your reply. For Kvatch, do you suggest to be at least level 10 to play the quest after rescuing the heir? Actually, I started the game playing the main quest only, just to see I far I could get: I rescued Kvatch at level 2 (even though I didn´t play the side quest Battle for Kvatch) and I´m currently in the Order of Dawn´s hideout - unfortunately, my level 3 character was able to steal the book but I can´t escape from the cave, enemies are too many and too tough for me. Hence, I think I´ll try to reach level 10 before doing the Order of Dawn quest.
  15. Map Marker Overhaul by TheNiceOne btw, Skingrad is in Cyrodiil Thank you for your reply, I already know the mod u suggest, unfortunately it allows to add map markers only at player´s place, but I´m looking for something that let me place multiple markers anywhere on the map, no matter where I am. Do you have any more suggestion?
  16. Hello guyz, I am about to start a new game, with OOO installed. As I know this game dramatically increase the difficulty of the game, I'd like to know what level my character should be in order to start the main quest. My game play style is usually to go immediately for the main quest, doing from time to time some guild and/or secondary quests; in vanilla this is possible, but I'm afraid that with OOO it is much harder - hence, I don't want to attend the battle for Kvatch, or join the Order of the Dawn, with no chance to win; I hate when you have to re-load an old save and start from there or, even worst, to decrease the difficulty level, as it knocks down the immersion. So, what level would you recommend me to start the main quest (let's say, from Kvatch) with OOO installed?
  17. Hello everybody, I'm looking for a mod that allows to place multiple markers on the map, even though you are not on the spot to do that (i.e: I want be able place markers near Skingrad even though I'm in Cyrodil) - in this way, I can better keep track of all pending quests. Do you know any mod that allows to make this?
  18. Apparently, the Interface section of my .ini file is much shorter than yours; actually, I've got only this part: [interface] fDlgLookMult=0.3000 fDlgLookAdj=0.0000 fDlgLookDegStop=0.2000 fDlgLookDegStart=2.0000 fDlgFocus=2.7000 fKeyRepeatInterval=50.0000 fKeyRepeatTime=500.0000 fActivatePickSphereRadius=16.0000 fMenuModeAnimBlend=0.0000 iSafeZoneX=20 iSafeZoneY=20 iSafeZoneXWide=20 iSafeZoneYWide=20 Anyway, I tried to add the command manually, as you suggested, but it still doesn't work - I really don't know what to do You need to add the line to the Oblivion.ini file in your documents\games\oblivion file. NOT to the Oblivion_default.ini file in the Oblivion directory! The Obivion_default.ini file should NEVER be altered. Hi, thank you for your answer. You are right, there is another .ini file located in the documents folder, much longer than the one in C:/Oblivion. Unfortunately, I noticed that in this file the command bAllowConsole is already set to 1, but the console doesn't work anyway - any idea why?
  19. 20. one of the most downloaded mod ever and 0 replies so far?! come on guys, I know you can help me!
  21. Yes, I've already tried that mod, unfortunately it allows only to edit the existing markers or, if you want to add an additional marker, you have to be on the spot, so you can't mark any location far from where you currently are - if they added this option as well, it would be exactly the mod I'm looking for but, unfortunately, it isn't. Actually, I'm quite surprised that nobody has edited this aspect of the game, as I (think that) it shouldn't be too hard to do - hope somebody will follow my request.
  22. I'd like to download deadly reflex but l'm undecided which version, if v 6.0 beta and v 5.0. Of course, l expect v 6.0 to be better, anyway as it is a beta, l'm afraid it could be affected by many bugs and be quite unstable, in which case it is maybe better to go for v 5.0. Which version do you recommend?
  23. Nobody agrees with me? Or maybe there is a similar mod yet?
  24. I think it would be a good idea to make a mod that allows to place multiple markers on the map (I'm speaking about those little blue triangles you can place using left click+shift), vanilla oblivion allows to place only one and I haven't found any decent mod fixing this problem. It would be particular useful especially to mark on the map all open quests, so you'd always know the closest location for a quest, if there is any open quest in an area you step by etc. without having to open the inventory every time!
