  1. My companion, no. Several other fighting-mates in mass attack mission: yes. Maneuvering in a big melee is quite difficult :D
  2. *strolls near giant settlement, hears howl, stops* *two seconds later a dead winter wolf falls from above right in front of him, bumps a few times and rolls down the cliff* ...Ouch :D
  3. Pretty much the same situation, though I got involved with the Stormcloaks. I just hope I can at least buy a house in Windhelm at the end of this mess and shack up with my lovely Mjoll :D
  4. Prolly the story repeated itself all over: the Champion of Cyrodiil was a bona fide madgod, but no real Daedric Prince. Jiggy got "jiggy" and overexpanded himself, so the Daedric UN had to force him back into old Sheo.
  5. Random convo with a group of Companions: Me: "Why did you join the Companions?" Companion: "Fortune and glory, kid. Fortune and glory" Nice quote, Indy. XD
  6. I guess that some wives travel with you and some don't. That's why I chose a warrioress :D
  7. From what I have seen so far, every marriageable character has some kind of quest-completion requirement to become available. Some are pretty short (Ysolda), while others may be very long or have special triggers for their own quests (Aela, Lydia). Being a werewolf should have little or no effect on your bride-to-be, though advertising your position as the Upright Man may impede things when the Virtuous or Sagacious Man try to replace you. :whistling: Correct. I'm betrothed to Mjoll and before I could propose, I had to retrieve her sword. We're happily adventuring together until I can buy a nice house for both of us :D
  8. One handers and Destruction, swapping to Restoration in emergencies and/or switching to dual casting when keeping distance is obligatory (I go unarmored). Sword speccing for melee and lightning for Destruction. Currently picking Restoration perks (need to for dire situations, plus the extra magicka regen seems nifty), Enchanting (moneymaking! Wooo!) and Speechcraft ('cause I roll like so :D).
  9. Well, I'm around Level 17 and didn't even tackle the main quest (so no dragons for me yet). I roamed for a bit, didn't even see all the major cities, but I don't feel the difficulty too steep or too low. Of course I now clear bandit camps with ease, but that's expected: FINALLY, they're just bandits and I'm a sort of a hero. Same goes for wolves and the like: but try tackling the high level draugrs, or constructs (wink wink). That's a whole different story.
  10. I usually leave giants be: either sneak around them or simply pass peacefully by waving hello. One thing I learned early: do NOT anger the big folks. The scene was like that: Mademoiselle Ysgra: "Could you get me, oh-pretty-please a mammoth tusk?" Me: "but of course, fair lady!" (sets off) -after an hour, Velwyn gets back after getting nearly one shotted Me: "Go get it yourself, you stupid (string of insults)" XD
  11. As I stated in earlier posts before the game's coming out, and now more so since I'm seeing it with my character's eyes, the Empire is no more. 5 minutes into the game and I get badmouthed by a higher-than-thou patrol of High Elves (and I'm a Breton, mind you) and the more I see it, the more I get the idea that the wheel of history has done a full spin and now the Elves are back at it again. pr0's analysis is pretty accurate: there is no "better choice", only the one you judge the best. I chose the Stormcloaks, and while I haven't joined yet (too many things to do to get political now) I showed my support in many, many ways (up to and including freeing prisoners, spying, and the glorious cleansing of a fortress full of Aldmer. Who's high and mighty now, eh?).
  12. Going North and after getting out of a Eight-forsaken dungeon infested with draugrs, battle-weary and not with some sense of triumph over the odds, I'm greeted by an awesome view of a full moon, a starry sky, the sea and aurora borealis. Heroic throttle to the max, verily.
  13. Well, I for once love the "quaint little village" look. So, big cities like Solitude are OK for tourism but I wouldn't live there.
  14. Solitude is an Imperial nest. Try Windhelm instead if you like Stormcloaks. Thanks for the tip. I'll haul my Breton bum there once I return the sword to my Nord wife-to-be and see if housing is available :D
