  1. So... as far as I know I have made no changes to the [interface] section of any of the .ini files. But I do see, however, that the fSafeZoneYWide16x10=36 and fSafeZoneXWide16x10=64 shows the value 16x10. When in fact I am using a 16:9 resolution. Could this be the culprit? The game itself looks fine, and so does the rest of the HUD, it's just those shadowy background thingies that seem to have... shrunk and become offset somehow. The entire [interface] section looks like this; [interface] fSafeZoneYWide=36fSafeZoneY=36fSafeZoneYWide16x10=36fSafeZoneXWide=64fSafeZoneX=64fSafeZoneXWide16x10=64fCrosshairAlphaPercent=100 If anyone can tell me whether these values are correct when using 16:9, and/or have any other ideas. Sure, I have mods installed (duh!) but no mods that have required me to change any interface settings or display settings in the .ini files whatsoever. It's not gamebreaking or anything, but it's incredibly distracting when in conversations. And, well, overall very annoying tbh. Oh! And the loading screens seems to have the same aspect ratio as those out-of-place shadows. It's as if those shadows and the loading screens thinks I'm playing in 1680x1050 when I'm in fact playing in 1920x1080... Thanks in advance...
  2. Yeah, that's not the issue mainly for me. I'm using all of aMidianBorns 4k packs, and lots of other 4k packs. I'm not especially worried about textures that's 2k or less. It's mostly those 4k giants I want to sort out somewhat ^^
  3. All I knew was that the program I used to use for optimizing fresh installed mod textures was named Optimizer Textures on Nexus. That's all I had to go on :D but your tip seems a bit more intricate. Used it pretty much for all Bethesda-games. And it worked pretty well. I usually knocked off a couple of hundred MB from my VRAM usage, which always helps. Without any hits on visual quality.
  4. Looks exactly like what I need, buddy! Cheers :D
  5. Cheers! I'll give it a whirl ^^
  6. Hey everyone! I have a question. I'm in dire need of the Optimizer Texture program. And right now, for some ungodly reason after years of existence, it's being reviewed by a moderator (!?). God knows how long it will be unavailable. If anyone can e-mail it to me I'd be overjoyed! Thanks in advance! ^^ give me a yell and I'll provide my e-mail.

  8. Well, it's not only textures that causes crashes as far as I know. Especially settlement mods cause a great deal of problems as well. Although those are understandable seeing as they most likely have fiddled around with the core game files. The texture issues are just plain weird.
  9. Actually... I can't see any difference whatsoever x) maybe it's just me going blind... EDIT: Scratch that. Just found it. LOOOL!
  10. First of, sorry for doubleposting, but I was not sure which category this falls under. So... I'm having this weird issue with my Power Armor HUD. I'll add some pictures that'll show the exact issue I'm having. While I'm out of the armor everything is dandy and well, as the first 3 pictures shows. However when I enter a Power Armor the HUD gets... weird. I've tried disabling all HUD mods I've been using, and also all the Power Armor HUD changing mods (Clear PA HUD to be exact), and there's no change. I've also tried all kinds of video options. Which leads me to believe that I've accidentally screwed something up in my .INI. So I'm posting here in hopes that someone out there might know what's up with this, or if someone else have encountered this. It's getting really frustrating. I can basically do **** while I'm in my armor now. Thanks in advance. http://i.imgur.com/lhRoy7P.jpg <- Normal HUD (using white colours, as I always do...) http://i.imgur.com/5PxyDiM.jpg <- PA HUD (notice the black crosshair and the black compass icons...) http://i.imgur.com/rUdouSA.jpg <- Normal map http://i.imgur.com/VzsQBt5.jpg <- PA map http://i.imgur.com/rh4StTu.jpg <- Normal inventory http://i.imgur.com/lDtH0IT.jpg <- PA inventory

  12. Yeah, well, I thought ahead and were super-cautious and simply made a copy of my 1.2 installation, all save files, the mod manager load order files and all .INI files before even touching the update, having had issues with bigger Bethesda patches in the past  so I could simply go back to 1.2 and keep playing as nothing had ever happened. Sometimes it pays to go the extra mile xD sooo... I guess it's just a waiting game now. Lucky I have Dragon's Dogma (that FINALLY came to PC...) to lean back on for a good amount of time.
  13. Basically 1.3 screwed up modded games beyond repair. I reverted back to 1.2 and decided to wait until all the major mods is updated. The cons waaay overstep the pros, so... it's not worth to get my 80+ hour game totally ruined by this. Not even with all the 1.3 improvements. And there ARE awesome improvements that should have been in the game from the get go. But no. No way, no how. This must be the first time a patch from Bethesda has completely rendered a modded game 100% unplayable. And it boggles my mind.
  14. Gore Overhaul is known to make the game crash with the new 1.3 patch. OCDecorator is a bit iffy for some people as well. You might want to remove that until it is patched. The issue is not isolated to that one mod however. I'd revert back to 1.2 for a while until all the bigger mods gets updated. Hope it helps.
  15. In response to post #34088275. #34095225 is also a reply to the same post. Same here. It's all weird with my FO4 x) I've resorted to manually sorting them.
  16. Sadly the Gore Overhaul isn't the only mod causing issues. I'm running little-to-no gameplay changing mods, and mostly (around 100+ -.-) retexture mods. And some settlement mods. I get a CTD as soon as I enter build mode. I've tried disabling the settlement mods to no avail. I'm just going to revert back to 1.2 until this has been sorted. Damn shame! It was a pretty hefty patch, with LOADS of improvements! First time a Bethesda-patch has screwed mods up on this scale ever :D
  17. Nope! The 1.3 patch pretty much screwed up every single major mod existing. So we'll just have to wait for updates from the mod creators. =/ hopefully won't take too long. I reverted back to 1.2 until this mess is fixed.
  18. Everything worked fine for me (roamed around pretty much everwhere for about an hour and a half) until I built my 5th water pump in Sanctuary. BOOM! CTD. Tried to recreate the problem thinking it was just a coincidence. Nooope. Same thing. 5th pump... CTD. And I barely use any mods that alter settlements or gameplay in anyway. Hell, hardly any armor mods! Mostly retexture mods. And no... the gore mod is not one of them. Screw this. I'll just revert to 1.2 until this mess is sorted. This may well be the first time a Bethesda game has been so utterly messed up on such a new level by a patch.
  19. Well, as far as I know there's several unused equipment slots on any given character model. Like the Wearable Backpack mod shows. I believe they have several options for slot usage, and I believe there is 6 (?) unused slots. I suppose it'd be possible to make a model and the make it attachable to a certain unused equipment slot, just like the katana you mentioned. This could probably be done for any weapon in the game. It'll probably just be to change a weapon model into an "replica-accessory" item. If you get what I mean x) But never fear! As soon as the Creation Kit comes we'll probably be showered with mods like these. People are most likely already just sitting on material just waiting for it to come :D
  20. Codsworth saying "Well, a little over 210 years in fact..." in the beginning really bothers me. However it is possible that he can mean 260 years... what do I know.
  21. Most likely is. Not sure without the CK however. There's tons of mods that'll just have to wait until that's been released. But I REALLY miss the weapon on the back. It boggles my mind as to why that was removed. It's so stupid it almost feels like an oversight. They've always had visible weapons. In every single Bethesda game. Except this one. It's stupid xD But I guess you mean something like this one, for Skyrim. That's a classic! http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9614/?
  22. I've had an idea for some time now. Sadly I never did learn how do properly mod myself. And I'm sure more people have thought about this. Right. Stimpacks are way too common, right? It's like they're not even worth anything. So I was thinking about extremely rare Pre-War Stimpacks, and a little more common Improvised Stimpacks, which doesen't offer as much effective healing. Other than that you'd be stuck with food items for health regen. I mean it's not like stimpacks are actually industrially produced anymore? And the ones you can craft yourself shouldn't be in perfect condition. This, of course, could be science based I guess. But to me it would make more sense if crafted stimpacks were, in fact, improvised. Which is basically what they are. Scrounging and scavenging would be much more rewarding, imho. Even though you need pretty much every junk items humanly possible in FO4, Stimpacks still are way too common. I'm level 46 or something atm, and I have tons of them. I almost don't even bother to look for them. And stimpacks should be one of the games more valuable resources! I mean doctors in the wasteland have been rendered more or less obsolete. Which is just wrong. I'm an immersion freak, and it always bothered me how ridiculously common stimpacks actually is. Even on higher difficulties. I'm not sure how possible this is without the CK, but I'm just throwing an idea out there if it should catch someones interest.
  23. So that's the sudden issue then. Ever since I patched to 1.3 I've had really odd crashes. Never had a single CTD before the beta patch, and all of a sudden it's CTD galore! But as someone mentioned above; how can a select few texture swaps cause CTD's all the sudden?! That's just plain weird. It was always .esp/.esm related in previous games! Can't really wrap my mind around how that's changed. Oh well... nevermind. I guess I'll just remove every single texture pack I'm using until a more stable version comes out, or until the authors have patched their textures. Well, thanks for clearing this up for me. I was sitting and going through all my gameplay-changing .esp's until just now. Tried disabling them all, but the CTD's just kept going.
  24. I don't know how to mod, although I'd love to learn. However I found this beautiful hairstyle I'd like in Skyrim; http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=41622 In the pic I attached to this post; it's the hairstyle to the right. Dunno how it is with permissions and such, but I'd really appreciate it if someone gave it a try :) Thanks! EDIT: The pic doesen't seem to have been attached, but there are screenies in the link in the post :))
  25. it'd be awesome to be walking in total darkness and have Draugrs/ghosts and enemies everywhere comming from who knows where, and actually using lighting spells to see or torches...it think it'd be awesome and it is really necessary so I'm asking for this again..this needs to be made... thanks you for your time I second this idea. Totally :D Although I bet this'll be fixed as soon as the construction kit is released :)
