Are you the administrator on your account? Try and right-click and "run as administrator". See if that fixes it.

Found the answer:
Just make sure you have all the data files checked for the DLC and then run the .exe for the patch - it automatically installs into the correct directory.
I don't seem to have to start a new game.

As the title says, I have the game running fine in Windows 10, but it's apparently recommended to run the unofficial patch, Do I need to install FOSE, or any mod manager to get this to work, or do I just run the exe? I have started a game and am about 2 and a half hours in. Will I have to start again once the patch is installed?
