Came here looking for an answer and maybe this is it? 2 versions of Skyrim installed? I recently updated my PC and reinstalled Skyrim to a new SSD. But I also have my old SATA SSD (my old games drive) plugged in which has Skyrim, etc installed, but not recognized by my new CPU, motherboard, OS. Could it possibly be interfering? I doubt it, but weirder things have happened.
Anyway, I downloaded Steam and Vortex, and installed most of the mods that I ran in my previous build. I have had no experience with this current version of Skyrim as I was keeping Steam OFFline on my old PC. The other factor is that I have gone from Windows 10 to 11. And now I had to get this latest version of Skyrim SE/AE with its Creation Club updates from December.
In short, when I launch Skyrim from the SKSE loader, the vanilla game starts in the cart going into Helgen, even though I have Alternate Start in my load order and I have no MCM, SkyUI, or any other mods from Vortex active.
1. I have checked that I have the current version of Skyrim and the most current version of SKSE.
2. I have tried to run the SKSE loader as Administrator
3. I have Steam on the same drive as Vortex
4. I have Steam and its apps installed in a custom directory that is NOT Program Files(x86)
5. I have no conflict with my antivirus
6. I've made sure all the plugins were enabled after I discovered that Vortex had disabled them all - that didn't work
7. I made sure all the mods I downloaded (including the address library and engine fixes) were all current to this version of Skyrim
Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated!
