  1. Try waiting 10 in-game days in another location. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
  2. Oh god I love IGN http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
  3. LOL! But yeah, it does happen a lot with random clutter. I mean, dying by standing on a skull is just cruelly ironic. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
  4. CAPITALIST!!! But yeah, watch out with what you install. A good idea is to not only keep backups, but to install one mod at a time and test the game after each installation. Unless it's a small texture modification, do it - it will really prevent any future headaches.
  5. In answer to your question, personally, i just really like reading, and writing. I believe that the Elder Scrolls Series would make excellent books, as the world that they take place in is rich with.. just about everything. I chose to stay completely true to the game because... well, i find it hard to create brand-new ideas, after all, I'm only 15 haha. You and I are on the same boat then. I'm 16 and surprisingly uncreative, but I can write very well and love reading, so I started using the Dragon Shout App on my iPhone to keep a journal of whatever my character's doing. It's very fun so far, especially when you write in first person and add in all the details, as well as giving your character a proper personality and past. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
  6. He was banned because of this: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/459325-fxaa-post-process-injector/page__st__1150__p__4001986&do=findComment&comment=4001986 Although mind you, he does describe the Nexus Mod Manager as "shitty", despite them having had literally less than a month to develop it. I know it's based on OBMM/FOMM, but there's massive differences between its predecessors and the new version, and calling something basically new "shitty" is rude and immature. Doing it several times across multiple threads and then replying sarcastically to people who do use it is ridiculous. The guy has a lot of know-how, but he doesn't deserve to be around here if he can't control the tween rage inside him.
  7. Skyrim is a fun game, but it's *very* far from being GotY. AI Is absolutely terrible, graphics are passable, sound is pretty bad (although the music is still great), characters are forgettable, quests are mostly fetching missions disguised with terrible voice acting and uncreative 'stories', and the gameplay could be better. Then there's all the bugs, glitches, and awful patches. So yeah, Skyrim may be a good game, but it's one of the biggest disappointments of the decade and it definitely doesn't deserve any major awards, especially Game of the Year.
  8. I had the same issue despite having an Nvidia card - a GTX 570. I actually fixed it by installing 2k HD textures, try doing that, it'll make the game prettier in the process. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
  9. Happens with me too. Stupid consoles http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
  10. He's not complaining that you have to follow laws. His issue is the fact you have to adhere to them even during circumstances when it makes little sense to have to do so. Imagine that Morrowind had the same engine and graphics technology behind it as Skyrim, and the two games were released concurrently with one another. Exactly.
  11. I'm surprised there's a change at all, because you have to set it at an odd number, otherwise it will decrease to the closest even number, e.g. if you set uGridsToLoad = 8, it will set to 7 instead. Either way, follow this tutorial, it explains everything in great detail yet it's dead easy to follow. http://deadendthrills.com/2011/11/madness-in-the-method/
  12. Try terminating all processes that are related to Logitech's program. I find that their software bugs out in lots of games.
  13. Skyrim is a great game, but the problem is that, although I haven't played Morrowind, it seems to be very linear. For example, try killing off a person related to any important quest - you can't. Try to murder someone in a house with magic and guards will swarm you, which doesn't make sense - you can't hear the storm outside once you're in the house, but the much quieter flame spell will alert everyone in the hold? The player seems to be given a lot of false freedom. You can what you want, as long as you play by the laws of the land. Screw that. My first character was a faithful defender of the law and served the Empire well, but with my second character, a Khajiit thief, I want to be evil, I want to kill whoever I want when I want and be able to do so without everyone telepathically knowing I committed a crime. It's a shame that Bethesda hasn't really changed many things since Oblivion, because I'm sure that, if Skyrim was a game completely unrelated to TES, it would be universally panned for graphics, bugs, AI, but most importantly, failure of engaging with your character and being able to play as you truly want to.
  14. Meh. Skyrim is good, but FAR from GotY. The difficulty is ridiculously easy from the first minute, the storylines are terrible, the AI is still awful, your decisions barely have any sort of impact on the world, the bandit chiefs are harder to defeat than the dragons, which is pathetic considering that the game is based around the threat of the dragons, the UI on PC is awful, the graphics are passable (though most textures and shadows are terrible, at least there's a nice variety in presentation), dialogues are still laughable... Honestly, for GotY I'd pick either Batltefield 3 or Arkham City. I'd go for TOR, but it comes on the 20th of December, so I doubt it counts.
  15. STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! Also, I agree with exneph. Elsweyr and Valenwood do indeed seem like the best areas, unless Bethesda decides to ignore logic. Plus, the gigantic contrasts between both areas as well as the biomes within them would give Beth loads of room for a visually beautiful game.
  16. Actually it's really easy. Focus ONLY on upping your magicka every time you level, and try to get all the destruction perks and more advanced spells. Make sure you get the perk that makes magicka regenerate faster (it's part of the regeneration perk tree). Use flames against normal enemies and sparks against magical foes. If someone closes in on you, sprint away for 2 or 3 seconds, use a magicka potion, and charge. I got to level 63 destruction in literally 8 hours (started a new character). Playing on Master difficulty. If anything, the game is extremely easy, even more when you play as a mage.

  19. Wow, I didn't realise there were so many older gamers around! I'm 16 myself, it's good to see that older people still enjoy games. I've hopefully got a lifetime left to play then http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
  20. Actually there is a Mass Effect movie in the making, it's not about Shepard but instead one of the main characters of the books... Can't wait for it! http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
  21. I think it might be a bug. Whenever that happens, I simply remember that not all of the dragons obey Alduin, and they're probably the friendly ones that don't attack. You will find more random dragons even after you finish the main quest. A huge amount, in fact. I seem to get one literally every half an hour outside.
  22. Don't worry, we'll just wait 5 years for an Enhanced Wat - oh wait http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
