I was having the same problem as well, but the CTD occurred at the crafting menu. What I discovered was the NMM will sometimes forget to transfer over all the files to the data folder. Go to your NMM Virtual Install folder and run through all the folders, paying attention to any mod that adds items to the workshop menu, and making sure they are empty. If you find a folder that is NOT empty (except for .esp files) then that could be your issue. Move the leftover files to the appropriate place within the data folder and try the workshop menu again. I found several mesh files that didn't transfer over and that's what was causing my CTD's. Might work for you too!
