I'm not seeing it no matter how hard I try

After 4 hours of failed attempts I am forced to give in....Oblivion birthsign system sucks. If you really want it I can replace a current birthsign for you instead, that will work 100%.

It doesn't work for third person

How to add custom item using console command?
Kiyasumeni replied to Omegaweaponneo's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
Using the Construction Set you have to find the items Form ID by loading oblivion.esm and the mod you want the item from. Using console commands then type this- player.additem <form ID> It will look similar to this- player.additem 1300567 -
I created a mod for you. Best of luck ;) Dark Welkynd Stones Removed

I'll give it a shot as i can turn that into a dds, but no guarantees. As mentioned above this rarely works :(

Trouble creating a new spell
Kiyasumeni replied to Caradas1030's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Did you save your spell as an esp and activate it in obmm? If you have then acquire the spells form ID in the CS and using the in game console commands type this- player.addspell <formId> It will look something like this- player.addspell 01000ce8 If that doesnt work try increasing the second digit of the form id like this- player.addspell 02000ce8 -
Recommended combat mods
Kiyasumeni replied to Deleted2783630User's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
Honestly, deadly reflex is not that heavy of a mod. You can turn off finishers completely if you want and it incorporates well the idea that block timing is essential. Just use V5 as v6 was never really updated and seems to be riddled with bugs. If your still wary i think Block Parry and cancel attack is still a good choice. As for archery I like Duke Patricks Combat Archery. It increases general bow and arrow damage whilst giving bow sway when moving, limiting arrows in a quiver, allows you to denock an arrow and more. As for hand to hand, I have no clue as Ive never played that way to begin with. -
Duke Patricks combat archer mod.. a question.
Kiyasumeni replied to scyris99's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
I don't believe this is a bug, the mod is meant to function this way. Making bows a much more realistic in combat with variables such as damage, denocking, limited number of arrows per quiver, and even bow sway. If you don't like the amount of damage you could always us the Construction set to modify the mods bow and arrow damage. What is your level, marksman and blade skill in game? -
Oblivion XP Oblivion xp is an excellent leveling system that uses EXPERIENCE to level you. You can change the amount of XP needed per level to increase the speed if you wish. This mod also allows you to play the game without micromanaging your skills.

Interesting, I didn't know about the spells. Hmm, it'd be impossible for a mod to drastically redo the armor value system to account for each covered body part? I'm not an intelligent modder so I wouldn't know. Still, at least if the enemies and you could trade equal blows that do realistic damage regardless of body part I would be happy.

Is curse trying to fight with nexus over modding scene
Kiyasumeni replied to seweryn's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I thought the Nexus forums was about bringing together a modding community that has something in common. We all love the same games. If they were about money im sure they could find a far more profitable endeavor. I personally have never gotten the impression that Nexus is about money....at all. -
Realistic damage, it explains itself. We all know we can put the game on a high difficulty and be killed by a claymore in just 2 slashes or murdered by a dragon in one breath weapon. But why does it take you a ton of hits to kill a bandit or some simple creature? What im requesting is a mod that puts realism into the games attacks. If you stab someone in the back with a Daedric longsword they will probably die without armor, with armor they will at least be weakened. If You shoot an arrow into their head without a helmet they should die automatically and vice versa. I would even go so far as to say the damage realism should depend on where the hit lands. If you are slashed across the legs the character should be slowed down and have a (Bleed effect) where they constantly lose blood until they heal themselves, this could take place across all body parts. If hit in the arm it wont do as much damage as being hit in the chest. If an arrow goes into an unarmored area it does more damage than hitting the breastplate. A fireball actually causes a burn, a frost attack would slow the character by numbing their body and a shock attack has a chance of paralyzing. I have no clue how much work this would take to implement, but its something I have always dreamed of since I began playing Oblivion. I would be greatly appreciative if someone implemented this. It would make the game far more real, far more dangerous and far more realistic to play.

I am having a rather frustrating problem. Due to this mod the Red Room Gates in the arena bloodworks will not open when I go to begin the arena quest chain and ask for a match from Owyn. I have turned off all other mods to make sure this one wasn't conflicting with another and the problem still remained. Any ideas on how to fix this? Can someone maybe analyze this mod and tell me the problem? Maybe its an issue with my oblivion base...

Amen to that. I'll be doubling all the attack damages and probably the size as well. I'll also be cutting the number of dragons in half. There will be so much tweaking to do...

Mod installation confusion/mod recommendations
Kiyasumeni replied to 78stonewobble's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Well I always put the unofficial patches in first, both the oblivion and SI if you have it. Then from there make sure you get the OBSE and obmm in any order. Install your above mods, qarls first because I dont know if AWLS will overwrite qarl textures, and the others in any order as I don't believe any of them conflict. Before you play run boss to organize your load order. Then launch the game through OBMM with mods checked off and make sure it uses OBSE to startup. -
Thats how I feel it should be, but I don't find it to be that way. If a monster weighing probably over a ton, with fangs the size of daggers and a breath weapon that could destroy anything in its path attacks I just expect the affects to be more devastating. As a sidenote it feels like bethesda also made them unintelligent, I expected them to be mentally superior beings who didn't attack for no reason. Maybe bosses in quest chains.

As stated the video card is way more than new enough to run the game. And it only ever happens in that one area. I'm using retail. And I normally run it without sounds since I'm listening to music and thus there's no reason to have it going. None of the things above will _really_ help since it's a single spot in there, and it keeps doing it. My GPU as stated in the information there, is way more than strong enough to play the game. And I've even/already moved it to it's own area in C:\Oblivion, running it with xp sp3 compatability, no desktop pretties. So there's nothing I can think of to make it so that it won't work. Some video cards can be too new depending on the game, as funny as that sounds, and oblivion is a older game now. I don't believe that to be the case however. I'm just firing blanks because I can't fathom what would cause it. Best of luck, maybe someone else will know.

I don't have Skyrim but my friend does and watching him play and murder countless dragons began to annoy me. The problem lies in a few areas. 1.) Too many dragons in my opinion. They aren't rare and exciting anymore, it almost becomes annoying there are so many. I thought Dragons were supposed to be legendary creatures of untold strength. 2.) The local wildlife kills them. I drowned in dissapointment when I saw a giant massacre a dragon that flew too near. 3.) People can actually tank their breath weapons...Enough said. If you get hit by a massive cone of fire you shouldn't expect to live. Maybe im being too critical but this aspect really annoys me, im not trying to be Debby Downer lol. I think its a great game, I just hope a mod gets released that makes them stronger...and maybe bigger.

Help with installing mods?
Kiyasumeni replied to thorny264's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Make sure you get the latest OBSE and MenuQue Make sure you get the updated version of oblivion XP - Oblivion XP Updated All in that order. When you download oblivion XP open the file folder- 01 vanilla or BTmod. Then extract the menu folder to C:\program files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data Then open the file folder 00 core and extract files- textures, sound, menus, the ini, and the esp to the same place. Open up the INI folder and also extract the ini to the same place since im unsure if its supposed to be directly in the data directory or the INI folder. Check off the esp in obmm when you go to run the game. Make sure it launches through OBSE -
Is there an INI left over from an old install still there? If so delete it. Are you using a steam or retail version? It may be a video card incompatibility, maybe try this- http://www.oldblivio....php?page=about Attempt running oblivion without background sounds and music, that'll narrow it down if it works. Tell me how it works after going through the above questions and solutions.

Lore Topic - Rogue Conjurors
Kiyasumeni replied to jamochawoke's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
The mages guild may sell necromancy spells and summoning spells but only because it expects you to not use them in an ill manner. Conjurers and Necromancers work towards their own evil ends whilst defying the laws of the mages guild. -
I completely understand what you mean by feeling overwhelmed with the huge world. However you shouldn't feel that way, i have played for four years without ever completing the main quest which should show you how much random exploring there is to do. Any quests you pick up will always be there for you to continue later and you have no baggage in game so to speak. As for being trapped based on character choice; I say choose wisely because each character is unique and has separate abilities. Race, class and birthsign all factor in to how your character ends up but it doesn't trap you in any way. As for guides, using a guide for oblivion is blasphemy since there are a million things you have the option to do at any time.. Any information you do need if you get confused would be right here in this wiki- http://www.uesp.net/ Best of luck in game and enjoy!
