Whenever I or an NPC use the Alteration spell Ebonyflesh, the caster is given an annoying green shader effect. If this is possible before the CK is released, I would very much appreciate a mod that removes this effect entirely, or makes it much more subtle. So, if any mod authors out there would like to give this a go, I would be a very happy guy ^_^.

Somebody doesn't pay attention the games they're playing. Somebody appears to have regular sillyhead moments. Somebody better be trollin', or at least better not represent the majority of people in my country. Somebody lacks skills in analysis, specifically the ones necessary to understand differences in development between two games. Somebody is you.

Agreed. The staff tends to take an "It's a subjective view. That is, our subjective view determines what your comment means." standpoint. In response to the, "Yeah, but it was actually constructive criticism you banned me for," argument, I've been seeing the not-so-helpful, "If you don't want to risk being banned, just don't comment" counter-argument. It's all just flawed logic mixed with thin-skin and an itchy trigger finger. Risking your account and IP being permanently banned for posting your opinion just isn't worth it, so mods with 10,000 views will, realistically, just be "passed in silence", since viewers don't want the anxiety of a possible ban to occur. This means that, as is the norm for strict sites, a select few veteran members who give a vague opinion, newbies who may very well be banned for honest opinions, and some unclear posts by our middle-aged members mixed with a bunch of awkward "lol"s in between to "lighten up the mood" will dominate the comments. What does this mean for the mod author? Well, they have no clue what people want changed. All they can see is a bunch of awkward, meaningless statements from people too afraid to give honest opinions in fear of the "YOU DIDNT LIKE THIS MOD? YOU ARE TROLLING, THUS YOU ARE BANNED" post with their name slapped on it as an announcement in the ban threads section. Such an option would define what the mod author wants. if they only want the usual "Great mod!" to be viewed, they will get it, and anyone deviating from that line will be banned accordingly. If they want constructive criticism and tag their mod accordingly, there would be no reason for the staff to take the protective parent standpoint and risk banning downloaders who are just giving positive feedback.

This is an absolutely valid concern, and one of the main reasons this bill needs to be fought. Censorship to combat copyright infringement is one thing, but restrictive censorship of legitimate references in the form of mod sites, and even major media sites such as Twitter, Tumblr, and Youtube, is unacceptable in our free country. If this bill is passed, it threatens the very existence of these great sites despite possessing legitimate credit to copyright holders of referenced content.

For you, it was fine that there was MLP stuff in the middle of your search because you specifically wanted it. As you could probably tell from my previous post, I'm very serious with my mods. I completely avoid memes and joke mods for this reason, which is why, when I'm searching for mods, I would love the option to filter it. Then, if you wanted MLP stuff in your game, you could just search for that specifically without sifting through lore mods, while I could look for my lore mods without sifting through MLP stuff. On one side, not liking MLP is like not enjoying an ebony retext. On the other hand MLP is completely lore-breaking, unrelated in any dimension to Skyrim except that ponies are a kind of horse, and any mention of MLP in Skyrim would break the immersion ten-fold. An ebony retext, on the other hand, is just subjective beauty. Some like it, some don't, but at the end of the day, ebony armor is lore-friendly in Skyrim. Not wanting a certain ebony armor doesn't mean we need a tag for it, but not wanting lore-breaking content encompasses a much broader scale of mods, meaning the tag could certainly be used often. The real question here is this: Do we avoid putting a tag feature just because some members are indifferent and don't feel like having one? Or should we put one since it will bring some convenience to users like myself? I don't see any reason not to designate a tag for silly mods besides some people exhibiting paranoia regarding trolls. But alas, that is why we have the report feature. Of course, trolls generally don't get specific when targetting mods, as seen in reference posts in the bans section of the forums, so I would think the #1 question in this contemplation is...why not?

Speaking as a realist, this is bound to be seen as a hostile "STICK IT TO THE MAN! YEAH!" post by some, but it is one I feel necessary to express. I'm not entirely sure whether this post will be appreciated, but since this is the feedback and suggestions forum, I figure this is my best shot at providing constructive criticism where I feel it is due. My criticism is in regards to the Forum Rules and Strikes section of the forums, where moderators and administrators post bans and reference posts to the reason. I feel the thread itself is necessary as proof that the staff is doing their job and providing adequate reasons for doing said job. However, the puns and showing-off in some are one of the aspects I don't agree with. I'm not saying every post is treated like a celebration, but there are many where the reason is provided, and the post-reason comment is simply unprofessional at best. When some people see puns like "this guy started a flame war, so I PUT HIM OUT!" they cheer a little inside. When I see it, I facepalm. Such dry humor being posted in ban threads is petty and unnecessary. All I ever need to see in order to ensure the quality of a site is that the staff is doing their job professionally, giving out their bans, and tending to business-as-usual. I don't need to see the symbolic middle finger being thrown out by a staff member for all to see like it's a public execution. That's just petty.

A category dedicated to silly mods would be very convenient for serious individuals like myself who find it annoying to fish through memes and joke mods in the search for lore-friendliness and serious changes to their game. That, and the silly mods make me facepalm. It would be very convenient to have a tag dedicated to silly mods, as well as an option to filter them so I don't have to see them if I don't want to, while those who do can find them easier. To thin-skinned people: trolls will troll regardless of convenience. If they can't find a silly mod, they'll adapt to trolling serious ones. Considering a more serious mindset is necessary to be a prime target for trolling, I think the memes will survive. Besides, if you don't pull the "OMG HE TROLLING EVERYONE BURN IT!" act and throw a thread-vigilante fit, it should make it that much easier to pinpoint and report trolls on file threads. The site should not have to compensate for trolls and hurt the site's quality in the process. Just improve where convenient and if a troll comes, ban them. Simple.

I rather like the elves in Skyrim. They're my favorite races, actually. They don't look like the cheap plastic aliens you see in bad sci-fi movies. Bethesda's actually one of the few groups I see who don't make male elves look like a bunch of femboys with discrete sexual undertones, and elven women comprised entirely for the purpose of T&A. Of course, discrete sexual undertones and T&A can easily be achieved through mods, I would imagine. Besides, humans are supposed to be the ones you turn to for that kind of stuff. In Oblivion, the only difference between elves and humans was a more annoying voice, bigger floppy ears, and an oddly shaped head. Now they have an interesting, magical look about them. Magical look =/= T&A. Turn to mods for sexy fembelves and better bouncing ears. Bethesda's all about the lore and originality, not the sex appeal.

If this was an online game, I'd be raging right now. Luckily it's only a single player, so my only complaints are: Not going an orc will dramatically reduce your potential to kill just about everything. Wood elves have the combined passives of Argonians and Redguards (50% reduced disease and poison, while Argonians and Reguards only have one of these traits. THE FRACK!?) EDIT: Just so we're all aware, racial bonuses should not be the determining factor in your race choice, as they will impact little...unless you're an orc. Even with the orc racial, it will likely be a once-per-day thing. I'm just upset that Wood Elves are superior to Argonians in that they have more resistances.

That is definately a great point. I like to think some people just love the thrill of being offended. You see, unless many members of the media are actually just really, and I mean really sensitive, it's hard to believe they get offended as much as they claim to be. I like to think it's more to sway an audience with the "oh my GOD! You don't agree with me!?" brand of argument rather than by bringing up legitimate points. Emotional rants still hold more base than ones with actual substance...you know, with facts and actual information. Sadly. I certainly believe you bring up a valid point and it is becoming an issue. Rather than take the time to point out facts and reasons why one party disagrees with another, T.V. in media and many other sources display adults lowering themselves to name-calling, emotional ranting, and incoherent rambling.
