  1. Your post describes my feelings perfectly. I find these statements very ironic.. When Oblivion was released, people said "man, I don't feel as immersed as I did in Morrowind. The world is great but it just doesn't seem alive like Morrowind." Now, I see a lot of "man, Skyrim just isn't as alive as Oblivion." ..so, Morrowind is more immersive than Skyrim? lol.. I think it just comes down to hindsight bias. When you think back you remember all of the best parts of Oblivion and compare that to your current problems with Skyrim... I just hope everyone realizes that Skyrim is a technological masterpiece.. The xbox 360 would have to be more powerful for there to be more depth.. sure, the game could be harder, but they tailored it for a large market (comprised of a lot of casual gamers); and those of use hardcore players can just get the PC version and wait for the CK. Bethesda is doing their best.. With considerations of invested money (millions of dollars), time (4-5 years), etc.. it makes sense why Skyrim is the way it is.
  2. I'm not bored, because the thieves guild and companions' guild are both inaccessible to me atm because of bugs and glitches.. I'm hoping the Wednesday patch with unstick the NPCs causing the problem (Karliah mainly).
  3. Well, once the CK is released I'll definitely begin on my version of the idea.. if anyone wants to collaborate I'm all for it. I haven't made a mod since Morrowind, so I'll be rusty, but it won't take long to get back in the groove.
  4. I don't have any real feedback, as I don't have the PC version yet. But I really look forward to seeing where this goes.. once you've got a decent catalogue of items (and I've got the game), I'll download for sure. Screenshots look great so far though, keep it up.
  5. I agree 100%. I muted the video, but had to pause and re-read what you typed out multiple times... I'd suggest verbal explanation instead. Otherwise great tutorial!
  6. Most people won't be able to answer this, but hopefully someone familiar with the game's infrastructure can enlighten me on how feasible this is. I'd really like to be able to buy any house and sell/rent it afterwards. Or create a shop and sell my goods out of it. An idea similar to what's in Fable 3. It would be a good money sink and would keep me playing much, much longer. I'm not sure if this is even possible though.. I don't care if it has upgrade options, but simply the ability to gain ownership and receive moderate income from rent. In other words, I'd like something to invest my money in.. I don't see the point in making 100,000 gold if it's just going to continue to accumulate in my (manly) coin purse.
  7. Yeah, that'd be awesome to! I was honestly a bit disappointed when I booted Skyrim up, only to find that no 'hardcore' mode is available. That added a lot of replay value to Fallout: New Vegas.
  8. I love the detail in Skyrim, the wildlife in the woods in particular. When I'm doing a quest and unexpectedly see a fox/deer roaming around, it really adds to the immersion factor. However, there's not much purpose for them beyond aesthetics. I'd really like to add more to the hunting aspect of the game but making the loot worth something. I'm thinking maybe a guy up in the mountains, somewhat secluded, that you can bring pelts to for either more coin or special items. Something along those lines... just a way to make hunting worth more than 10gold. Also, a way to make the hunting itself more challenging, like only being able to 1-shot-kill wildlife if you're completely hidden; and if they see you they get 1.5x faster and their health increases 10fold, to make them harder to kill. Those qualities together would make hunting more worthwhile, and overall more enjoyable. Also, maybe adding more variety of creatures (simply changing the colors of existing foxes/deer/etc. for distinction) and making their pelt redeemable for different amounts would add even more depth. Just a thought. In short, I enjoy hunting in skyrim but I'd like more out of it. What do you guys think? (by the way, I've been a leech on these forums since morrowind.. I plan to actually contribute to the modding community with Skyrim, so that's why my account is only two weeks old)
  9. Yes, you can pickpocket them. But if they catch you, they'll simple say "I saw that" and (since they're more aware of your presence) you no longer have the option of pickpocketing them. I believe that's with all 'guilds' or factions. If you steal from a member and fail, you simple can't try again. That seems to be the extent of the punishment.
