Thanks for the answer. Actually what had happened was that a family member had installed the program "Skyboost" while I was away for a few weeks and did not tell me !!! The version installed was obviously incompatible with the Steam patch. I was just told...... so I have in fact uninstalled the program altogether but it took a bit of digging out from the program files. Thank you again for your answer which would have brought the Skyboost program up to date.

Hello I am asking for help over the following windowed message that comes up on trying to launch the game from Desktop: "SkyBoost critical error. Your game version is NOT supported, supported patches, 1.3.10.us" The message just came up one session when I had been playing OK the previous day. Steam support , after prompting, suggested I empty the game cache - which did nothing. I reinstalled the game first, and then reinstalled from Steam for all the latest downloads, and and still no luck. They say it is Bethesda to deal with. Before I try them I would like to ask if anyone can help here please. I am running windows7 and 4 gb of Ram and the game has been smooth and great up to this major glitch. Thank you.

Well I know what you mean by the problem if it as simple as what to click on. At the start of using perks I was puzzled as to how to click and get one. To use a perk you click on the "star" itself under the description of the perk, the bright shining star in the constellation. So if you want to start a tree such as Heavy Armour you go to the bottom of the tree and click on the bright star there, and the window asks if you want to spend this perk. Enjoy spending those eleven perks but choose wisely ! Hope this helps.

Hello and Thank you I was having random but increasingly occurring CTD for the game and came upon your suggestion for the fix to make Windows give 3Gb User Memory. I have not gone on to edit the Skyrim.ini yet as the windows edit is working so well at the moment. It works great for me and I hope others try it. Before the fix the game was slowly losing its magical appeal but now that special immersion is back ! Thanks again.
