It does not recover. It is installed in Program Files. One more thing, I have the Stutter Remover installed as well. Would that have anything to do with it as well?

Does anyone know how to fix the bug with Iron Sights where the gun sights get off gradually? When I play, the gun sights move down, especially when I look down towards the ground. Any help would be grealy appreciated. Thanks in advance, -ChuckFinly

A buddy of mine gave me an FX-4100 because he upgraded to something else. If it works, is it worth selling my 955 BE and replacing it with the FX-4100? I do not plan on overclocking and I play games such as BF3 at High Settings.

I want to add a higher damage setting in the Global Modifier menu of FWE. Where is that located in the GECK?

The game will loop endlessly on the "Connecting..." step when I try to join a multiplayer server. Both the game and Origin are being run as admin, and the game is allowed through the firewall. How do I fix the problem?

Now I have a very strange problem with that computer... It won't connect to the net, wirelessly or wired! My other computers work fine, but this one will not.

Thanks guys. It is doing things like turning McAfee's real-time scanning off and will error when I try to do a scan of any type. Norton (though I would not trust that program any further than I could throw it!), will start a scan, but not actually scan anything. And Windows Defender just scans and does not find anything. So I am confused and very hesitant about hooking that thing up to my main computer.

Thanks for the help, what virus programs do you know of, both free and paid, that offer that feature?

How can I remove a virus off of a hard drive without compromising my main computer? I'm fairly certain that the other hard drive I have has contracted a virus and I know that if I hook it up in a SATA, or even USB format--and start looking through files--that the virus might copy itself onto my computer, which is not infected. Who do I remove the virus off of the other hard drive without infecting my main computer? Thanks.

Does Skyrim support Direcx11? I thought it did, but when I went to my folders with it, it all read dx9 and dx10, not dx11. If it does not, is it possible to mod the game use the dx11 instruction set instead of dx10? My GPU and OS support dx11.

Really high resolution monitor brands
ChuckFinly replied to Thor.'s topic in Hardware and software discussion
What about pixel pitch? Is that an important factor? I have been looking for a regular 1080p monitor (or TV ) and was curious about what the various numbers meant. I did know that contrast ratio was measured differently per company (I saw it on a YouTube video from a guy who sells them), but what about pixel pitch (the distance between pixels), would that almost be as important as contrast ratio as far as sharpness goes? What personally annoys me has to do with sharpness. A buddy of mine bought a monitor and played games on it. The problem was his games only looked natural at 1920*1080 native resolution (it was a 21 1/2 "). When he lowered the resolution to 1600*900, it looked awful, but on a TV, it looks good no matter if it's 720p, 900p, or 1080p (talking about a 30 + " TV). Simple question, why? -
Glad to be of help! There is an OEM version of Windows 7, but that basically means that you can only install it on that motherboard. More details can be found at Microsoft's Site. The OEM version is cheaper, but it comes with restrictions, whereas the full disk version is double the price. You can, however, install it as many times are you wish provided that you only have it installed once at a single given time. To all Windows techies, if I'm wrong, correct me!

I had the exact same concerns when I switched to 7. In a nutshell, 7 is amazing! It does take a little getting used to when coming from XP, but that comes fairly quickly or at least it did for me. Running older programs: I have a few small issues in running mid-late 90's software that was designed for Windows '95 and '98, but I managed to resolve most of those. (I am actually talking about some of the old C&C games on the The First Decade game, but I eventually figured it out.) It is not as stable as XP in my personal opinion, but its pretty close. XP also in my opinion was the most stable operating system Microsoft produced, but Windows 7 doesn't come far behind it as far as stability! Yes as Illiad86 said, make sure you get the 64-bit edition if you have 4+ gigs of RAM. Note: if you plan on having more than 16 GB of RAM, get the Professional Version (Windows 7 Professional) as Home Premium only supports a max of 16 GB, but most people do not use (or by for that matter) more than 16 gigs anyway so that may not be an issue for you. As far as Fallout 3/NV goes, I think it will run just fine. I did have to play with some stuff before I could get Fallout 3 working properly on mine, but that was because I didn't have all the Windows 7 Mobo drivers. Once I got ALL the drivers for my motherboard, it ran fine. Not really much of a difference from XP. Just FYI, if you upgrade, make sure you get all of your motherboard drivers for Windows 7; a perfect example would be the Chipset Driver. Note: motherboard drivers are specific to that motherboard. I hope my feedback was helpful to you!

Because the performance increase is small stock, and the overclocking is not as good. Anyways, I thought it was the motherboard's bios chip that allowed overclocks (or at least its like with ASUS boards), not the chipset. For the motherboard I was considering a z68 or z77 chipset anway, so that is not a big deal.

I won't encode any videos or anything like that, so short answer no. Ok that's about what I figured, just wanted to make sure. Also is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO with the Artic Silver Compound thermal paste enough to get the 2500K up to 4.5 GHz? If not what can it get up to as far as overclocking goes? And what's a cheap LGA 1155 socket processor so I can learn how to overclock (I am not about to risk such an expensive processor )? One more question: Can I install the OS with the smaller processor, overclock it, and then install the 2500K and repeat the same process without having to re-install the OS?

Is the performance increase from the i5 2500K to the i7 2600K worth the extra 80 or so dollars? If you need me to narrow down some parameters just ask. Thanks,

Fallout 3 on Two Monitors
ChuckFinly replied to TimeShadow's topic in Hardware and software discussion
I assume that resolution of both monitors is 1280 X 1024, correct? And even if its not, as long as both monitors have the same vertical resolution, then what you could try is manually setting the resolution using FalloutPrefs.ini in My Documents/My Games/Fallout3; make a copy of the original. It should look some thing like this: iSize W=x iSize H=x X being the number of pixels it will display on either axis. W is the width, H is the Height of each. Note: this will only theoritically work if you have the second monitor as an extension, not a copy. Before I got this mod, I manually set the resolution for my monitor for different reasons using that .ini file. That's the best help I can give you. Hope it works! -
I decided to increase the fire rates for automatic weapons and some other junk myself. But I ran into several bugs/problems: Some of the weapons now only ADS (Aim Down Sight) when they are actually fired. The primary ones would be the Assault Rifle, Chinese Assault Rifle (renamed AK-47 ingame), the FN Fal, and Jericho's AK-47 which I added as a playable item. Any idea how to fix this problem? What I want to do with the Mod is the following: Correct CALIBR Ammunition Changes (with proper NPC redistribution and possibly new models) WMK addons RH-Ironsights Addons NPC-only Weapons (such as Jericho's AK-47 etc) Standardized Bullet Damages Addon DLC Support That's about it when it comes to features. If any of you have any advice about such a mod please mention it as I am new to modding. What I really need help with has to do with NPCs. I want to change Raiders, Talon Company etc without having to and change every single character. Basically I want to change the equipment they're spawned with to be in line with what I have. Is there any way I can do that?\ Thanks and have a nice day!

Yeah scripting would be annoying if anyone decided to add overheating effects. Personally I would completely revamp the condition system for firearms. I would have only a 10% damage difference across the entire condition. For example, if a gun does 50 damage at 100%, it will have 45 damage at 0%. I would work the system to where condition is very slow and affects jam times, value, and spread primarly. Let's take the AK-47 for example, for the sake of the point above, I'm gonna say it has a FO3 max spread value of 3.50 (vanilla it's 4.00%) at 100% condition, along with a minimum of 0.00%. At 0% condition it would have a max of 7.00% and a minimum of 1.00%. I suppose such effects would be more of an addon to that idea, but for the moment I would be happy with just a simple fire rate increaser. The reason for the minimal damage is simply because as long as a guy gets hit with the bullet (and it has its usual fire-speed), it will still have a lethal effect on the poor individual regardless of the firearm's condition. In my mind, there's just simply no reason why a .45 caliber bullet wouldn't kill somebody with the first, or maybe second shot. In that case, why does it take five shots to kill some bad guy in Fallout?

Has anyone made a mod of let's say FWE or Ironsights to have more realistic firing rates? Correct me if I'm wrong, but a real AK-47 has a fire rate of about 650-700 Rounds per minute. Also If I remember correctly M16-style weapons have closer to 700-750 rounds a minute. I have found this mod, but I would like it to work with Ironsights, FWE, WMK etc. Technically that mod does, but it's only when you fire. Thanks.

Title says it all. I plan on making some of my own mods in the future and I heard that each version has their pluses and minuses. Which one is better for custom modding/careful editing with FO3Edit and the GECK? Thanks for your input.

I am interested in buying a monitor. I want to spend around $150; what is the best monitor I can buy with that bugdet? More specifically, I want a monitor that I don't have to run at its "recommended" resolution for it to still look natural. For example, a friend of mine had a 1080p monitor, but it only looked good (natural) in 1080p which created lag problems in his game (his monitor size was 22"). Also, why do HD tv's look natural in 720p, 900p, or 1080p all at once? Thanks

Just some classic Rock n' Roll! Everything from KISS, to Bon Jovi, to AC/DC, to you name it. I would be a good idea to have a massive song list, but have several terminals that allow which songs to be played, which sub-genre, how often etc.

I'm confused, will there be a time when this will not go on? BTW I WIN!!!!!!!!!! (for a few more hours/minutes/milliseconds, take your pick).
