  1. Definitely strong "research paper dishonesty" vibes here. Just massage the numbers and cherrypick specifics until you have something you can present that misrepresents reality so you can construct the narrative you already decided on around it. I had the same thoughts as you that their numbers probably came from people who opted into the beta. Not pictured: The thousands, tends of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Maybe more? Of users who logged in, saw an "Opt into the new beta redesign" button and said to themselves "haha no, why the f*#@ would I do that? I'm 100% happy with the current design". It's very telling when you offer up a new version of something and present it to the users but they don't opt in. You know what I DO opt into sometimes? Stuff like Microsoft Teams. Eventually I'm like "Yeah, you know what, fine, Teams is already a dumpsterfire, maybe they actually made it better for once" - People opt into new versions of apps when they're unhappy with the existing app/experience. If 99% of your users aren't opting in, that's a sign you should be reevaluating if the redesign was even necessary in the first place.
  2. 100% For those of us who've been online long enough, s#*!'s got a particular smell. This smells like "We're fully committed, we're failing forward with this change no matter what, if our heels were any more dug in we'd need an earth mage to get them out". If they can answer one simple question, I'd take everything I said back, and sit quietly and wait for the discourse to unfold: What would it actually take for Nexus Mods Staff to admit they were wrong and fully roll back all the site UX/UI changes? If there's no answer, or no realistic answer, and it's just some s#*! like "a catastrophic bug or issue with the new layout that we couldn't fix in a reasonable amount of time" then that's it folks, back up, pack up, show's over, literally pointless talking to these people, walk away and just never give them your money or support again, and start keeping an eye open for alternatives and competitors. There's only one correct answer: "We see now that we really need to do a poll with a much broader audience to see how they feel about the new UI/UX. We'll put up a poll, spam you via email for a few weeks, glue it as a banner at the top of the website, put a reminder everytime you download a file, and provide users the ability to swap back and forth between the new and old UI/UX - We'll run that for a month, and then based on user feedback, which will be 100% transparent and public the whole time, we'll make a final decision". I very slightly know-ish some very big names in modding. I went and tracked down some recent comments they've made regarding the changes, and feedback preceeding these changes. I will not quote or hint at who they are or what exactly they said. It boils down to "Wow, they didn't listen" and "Wow, they ignored feedback" - Directly contrary to this narrative that they've been collecting feedback for quite some time and that it was overwhelmingly positive. It seems, from the comments I'm reading/seeing, from sources much more trustworthy than the people who've been speaking on behalf of Nexus so far, that even amongst people who were opted in and giving feedback, people were very frequently telling them that this was bad, to remove or revert this or that, etc. Believe who you what, I guess. But my 2c is that I put more stock in almost anyone or anything else other than an official mouthpiece telling me in a smug tone that everyone loves a thing while the thing is so universally reviled that every single post on the subject I've seen so far is people aggressively shitting on it and telling them to change it back.
  3. The "feedback" they want is "what token gestures can we make while ultimately not changing anything or reverting back to the old system". They want people to get bogged down into this dynamic of submitting 500 different specific nuanced feedback items - both to exhaust them and distract them - and so they can make it look like they're playing ball with taking feedback seriously, when in reality they'll ignore anything that's a drastic change, rollback, or doesn't align with what they wanted to do already. They'll cherrypick the items that are easy, irrelevant, already on their todo list, etc, and then they'll do a Bush and put up a big Mission Accomplished banner and wait for the complaints to die down as people lose steam and run out of energy.
  4. I get the distinct feeling from the way they're handling everything that they know it's a dumpsterfire and are praying things just quiet down and people eventually accept it. I really don't get why the users have to make a 32 page powerpoint presentation for them about why the change sucks. That should have been obvious within a day of them launching the change.
  5. Mobile First design is trash. New UI/UX is horribad. I will 100% never subscribe again if this doesn't get reverted. It's astounding how blind and deaf they're being to this issue. Any reasonable management team would see the backlash and feedback and immediately revert it or at least give people a toggle option to go back to the old layout. Stop trying to fix what isn't broken. You're not going to generate more revenue by pandering to one demographic at the expense of your existing core demographic who was already happy with the previous layout.

  7. Yep as f*#@ing stupid as it is this fixed my whiterun crashing issue. I'd just done a bunch of companions s#*! and then boom try to exit their little hut and CTD-a-thon '14. Could coc whiterun np, try to go back to whiterun from outside, CTD. Unpacked meshes, and it works now. Like people said above, give that BSA packer some time it's like 2.9gb and takes a bit to unpack it all.
  8. Nothing worse than someone saying they'll do something and not following through.
  9. Maybe this exists already, if so, I'm sorry. Looking for a way to totally replace all of the original races with custom races. Pick and choose what's what, turn all the ugly races into pretty custom races. Or even just turn all the ugly races into less ugly vanilla races?
  10. Female Combatants from what I understand basically made all(most) randomly encountered humanoids female. That's all I want, and I can only find a self-proclaimed super buggy "all female guards" mod which isn't what I'm looking for. Any help finding a mod that already does this, or maybe someone who has the old files for the original mod and cares to update them, would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Look into AutoHotkey, there's easy ways to remap keys for games that fail to provide the option. Also way easier than writing a mod. I agree it's not the right kind of solution (it should just be included in vanilla) but it's probably your best option.
  12. I'm going to go read the readme file now.... but honestly coulda just as easily noted what the fix was since google indexing is going to display this as a result to people with the same issue.
  13. Elder and Daedric are invisible for me too in addition to the Frost. No clue why but it's pretty effing annoying.
  14. My kill cam is randomly triggering on things that logically make sense as a kill shot (Things I 1shot, things at low life, last enemy standing, etc) -- However, occasionally it's not firing the arrow, which just leaves me stuck there standing around like a derp in slow-mo for the duration of the kill cam. I have no clue what's causing it. Below is my BOSS report for a list of mods. 15. Works but it's really glitchy on where it thinks it's hitting. I've documented this in the comments on the mod with screenshot examples. Face and Head shots randomly register as Groin and Leg shots. It works some of the time which is enough for me to keep it enabled, because it spices things up a bit to have some random variety in battle but it'd be nice if it truly registered stuff correctly.
  16. Anything like this exist? If not, anything like this possible?
  17. Elderscrolls/Skyrim wikis out there have pages for each school of magic, all their spells (that are obtainable through non-console methods e.g. normal play) and their associated hex value. Also 1.1 patch appeared to fix this for me. Another fix I've read and appeared to work was 1-8 favorite menu keybinding. Even with "Flames" stuck on my <R> if I keybound Healing to 4, and hit 4 twice, I'd dual-wield healing.
  18. Interestingly enough yesterday I could have sworn up and down that I was capping at 25% CPU with a quad core After installing an update to Skyrim I peaked out at about 67% CPU earlier. (Granted I was not previously watching my CPU that closely) So that's at least 3 cores being used. Can't say for certain that it didn't use more than one previously, but there's no way it can go above 25% and -not- be using more than one...
  19. That's the OS's delegation of resources. It's kinda like, how many balls can you juggle? The OS is willing to give you 4 balls, the game only knows how to hold one and look stupid while it calls it juggling. (So no, that doesn't do anything.)
  20. Please to be hazing an autosave mod that just plan saves the game for me once every X minutes or every time I loot or something.
  21. There is a bug that several people have mentioned online. I found no solutions on google. So I set about fixing it myself. player.removespell 00012fd0 (The following steps are what I did and not necessarily needed but can't hurt) Equip a 1hander Equip a 2hander (End questionable steps) player.addspell 00012fd0 You now should be able to equip two spells that AREN'T firebolt at once. <LR> The bug, if you're curious, is that once you obtain Firebolt, and equip it, it's persistently stuck in your right hand, you can equip 2handers, or even 1hander swords, but trying to equip Flames in both hands for the double channel effect wont work, you simply can't swap off of it being in your right hand. Even removing the spell via console leaves it stuck in your right hand, and you can't swap off of it. Thankfully when I re-added it for further testing and troubleshooting I was able to double equip spells again. I suggest not using Firebolt if you haven't already, or if you have fixed it, I would then remove the spell again via console (untested) after saving, to avoid further glitches. If this fails to fix the bug for anyone, feel free to say so. I don't have a lot of ways to validate that this will work for anyone else but I figured it'd be nice to have documented somewhere since I couldn't find a fix when I looked.
  22. What!? Arghhhh! *Loads Skyrim* Could I just get a WoW style hotkey interface? Eff immersion. I just want to actively see a ton of crap that I have access to, and preferably do everything with one button click.
