  1. Hi! So, jumping in as an Oblivion noob is freaking terrifying; there is a half a decade worth of mods, and most of which, I'm assuming, don't work together. (But they all look so cool.) I just installed OOO 1.33 and COBL, the unofficial OBLV + SI patches, OBSE, weocps.dll, OBMM and Wyre Bash. So far so good, I used OBMM instead of BAIN, but looking it over it's not showing any conflicts. (I decided to leave MMM and FCOM alone for now.) The thing is, though, I want -everything-. I want to try Elsewyr: Deserts of Antiquina(?), Valenwood Improved, Shezries Towns, Deadly Reflex 6, Unnecessary Violence II, Unique Landscapes, MMM, Thieves Arsenel, Better Cities, Persuasion Overhaul.. and a lot more. So, question: If I install these one at a time, should Wyre be enough to be able to detect various types of conflicts, if they are to arise? Should I grab "Land magic" for province mods? I'm not a total modding noob, I have a totally modded version of NV that runs with little to no problems (it took a while), but NV is a different animal because it doesn't have the same history. What should I do from here? Thanks for reading.
  2. Man. I wish we had some sort of visibility AI like in ARMA. ARMA is one of the toughest games out there, but when you die, it makes sense. That'd be something I'd support. Might not be possible on Gamebyro though.
  3. I knowwww, I want to do that. I need to get FNVedit working so I can merge CalibreX + Shrapnel + Classic Fallout Weapons + Apocalypse Armory onto FO3/FONV level lists simultaneously. If I could start merging these patches, I don't think I'll ever talk to a girl again. Because I'll be inundated with fallout.
  4. Try going for one of the many AI updates. XFO or something, I haven't bothered with any of those yet BUT it makes the enemy AI that much more deadly. I was watching some video where this guy kept reloading his save because some NCR sniper that he couldn't locate kept taking his head off, and he was using one of those AI updates.
  5. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault_City Hi! I'd like to take a swing at making a separate world-space for Vault City. Not only would it be fun for us FO2 holdouts, but I don't really think there's anything like it in FO3 or NV. Not only the level creation, the setting. We have here, a nearly fascistic and isolated yet hyper-advanced community of purists, racists, and super-intelligent sociopaths, and the innocents caught in between. What would Vault City be looking like during the time depicted in NV?
  6. Hm! I feel like NV lacked the morally ambiguous or downright evil companions. How about a Fiend or a Powder Ganger companion?
  7. Haha. I'd still like to undertake the CHEMS crafting, even if I have to do it myself for personal use. Shouldn't be THAT hard, recipe list mods are everywhere. Requiem is totally worth the pain in the butt. Unfortunately, the great majority of the files you'll need (The FO3.ESM patcher, for instance) isn't on the main page. I'm working on a FO3 + FONV Mod Compatibility thread, I want to turn it into a WiKi eventually, and then I'll hoist up that file patcher. It's sort of critical, if you try to run Requiem with the files that are just on the page, your game will break. However, with the patcher, I never crash and the game is actually MORE stable than without Requiem installed, fancy that.
  8. Jeo, you're the man. Could I run your NV cleanup alongside BLTC for Fallout 3? So that the chems are in the Capital Wasteland leveled lists as well. Again, I'm running Requiem. (BLTC for FO3, alongside Requiem, works flawlessly.) It'd be my pleasure to playtest your version, too. I think the NV version is C.H.E.M.S dependent as well, but you can only make 1 item, which is Heroin, which seems just plain silly. How could we throw the rest of the chems into the recipe list? Is this possible? My feller is a meth-cooking, slaver dirt-bag. You could see how this would be of interest to me. :P
  9. My damage model is totally, totally, totally realistic and makes the game so freaking hard. I'm using PN, Realistic Headshots and RWD and the game is lethal. Super mutants in the capital wasteland (I'm using Requiem) take me down in 1 shot to the head. Likewise, I can take them down with 2/3 shots to the head, and I can take down any NPC with 1 with any gun. My feller is level 20, and it's still so freaking hard. I love it.
  10. UPDATED 12/28/11 Added: Playthings __________________________ I figured out a workaround to my previous issue with Requiem. The reason my AP was getting stuck, is because I was not using the modded version of Fallout 3. Thanks so much to the Requiem crew for getting that sorted out, they're seriously the best. I'm running Requiem now at full stability, I never, ever crash. More updates will be following. TONIGHT'S EXPERIMENTS COMM Crimsom Caravan (Have requests? Shoot them over via PM and I'll do my best.)
  11. Adman- Drugs are bad is a mod that I use in conjuncture with BLTC, great mod for sure. I can't quite get FNVedit to work like it should. I can't seem to right click on anything. When I do, I get no options for anything. I have the most recent FNVedit. Don't know why that's happening. Jeoshua- That sounds awesome, but in the meantime I'm just using BLTC for FO3 with Requiem for the capital wasteland and it seems to work flawlessly. I'd just like to figure out now how to merge FO3 items, including BLTC, into NV level lists.
  12. http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37920 I opened it up in the GECK and, all of the awesome items this mod adds, it has not placed them in the game world whatsoever. How can I incorporate those items into a level list? Wyre Flash?
  13. [update] Oh my good sweet god above, this is so hard. All of a sudden, Project Nevada stopped being compatible with Requiem. I uninstalled everything else except for PN and Requiem, and the same problem kept occurring: My action points wouldn't drop, and when they would they would immediately recover. I have absolutely no idea why this would stop working all of a sudden. Maybe one of my RFCW files got corrupted? I can't even begin to play test compatibility issues without getting this resolved, so I'll be temporarily side-lined until then. Sigh.
  14. So yeah, Requiem is the best. It's more than the best. It's the -super best-. I'm not -really- a modder by any means, but I do want to make some headway into discovering what FO3 mods work with New Vegas, and what FO3 mods don't. Theoretically, every FO3 mod should work to some extent, with the exception of those mods dependent on Fallout 3 Script Extender, but we all know about the NavMesh problems that exist (for the time being) within the Capital Wasteland, when ran through New Vegas. Requiem isn't perfect, yet. but together, with our captain planet powers combined, I reckon' we can combine the FO3/NV into one big seamless Fallout Universe that, coupled with the plethora of official and unofficial DLC, can become the largest, most immersive, and most expansive games of recent memory. Alright, so, let's get down to the meat and potatoes. GAMEPLAY MODIFICATIONS: FO3 1. FNNCQ Slavery Overhaul http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9497 STATUS: SORT OF WORKS. This is the one I was most excited to try. It seems that the AI data packages are a little wonky. When you capture a slave, especially in combat, they'll continue to run around and hide all willy-nilly. If you attempt to talk to them, sometimes, you'll get the message that this character is fleeing. I switched off combat AI (tcai) and that seemed to do the trick. [More will follow, pertaining to the other features of this mod as I continue to play-test.] IN THE MOJAVE: Same situation, but- holy lords, it works. You can capture Doc Mitchell, or Sunny Smiles, or just about anyone and turn them into your slave. Slaves that you captured in the Capital Wasteland WILL travel with you to the Mojave. I'm unsure if you can sell them, but I'll give that a whirl in about an hour and report back. 2. BETTER LIVING THROUGH CHEMS http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1745 STATUS: AS FAR AS I CAN TELL? FLAWLESS. I'm aware that there's a NV port, but it's a port, and from what I've read in the comments, it's quite unfinished and glitchy, never really optimized to work solely with the New Vegas ESM. I haven't yet checked if the chems are available in the Nevada level lists, but I wouldn't imagine they would be. I'm unsure as to how to merge these level lists anyway, but I'm sure it's possible. WEAPON MODIFICATIONS: FO3 APOCALYPSE ARMORY STATUS: WONKY, BUT NOT BAD. http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14773 Every NPC in the Capital Wasteland still spawns with their vanilla weapons, but they ALSO spawn with these weapons, and SOMETIMES, they use them. Not every time, and not nearly enough. There is a SERIOUS problem with the iron-sights for most of these weapons: a lot of them don't have iron sights at all. It's been a while since I gave FO3 a proper play-through, so I don't even recall if FO3 even had iron sights. I'm not sure if some of these weapons even use iron sights. I'd have to compare it with vanilla FO3, which I'll probably do whenever I get around to it. NPC MODIFICAITONS: Playthings STATUS: That ain't going to work. While I'm sure the follower AI works moderately well enough, there's a major problem with the acquisition of the two NPCs. The big "silo" featured in the quest doesn't seem to work; there are visible texture problems outside of it, and entering it causes a CTD every time. Unless a workaround is figured out, avoid this one. [THIS THREAD IS A WORK IN PROGRESS, BUT WE'LL NEED YOUR HELP! ONCE THIS STARTS TO GET FILLED UP, I'LL HOST A WIKI AND TOSS THE SUCKER UP THERE FOR PUBLIC RECORD.] Thanks for reading. <3
  15. That's the ticket. I'm playing these FO3 mods through NV and Requiem, I hope that works. Thanks again.
  16. I'm looking for one mod. It was a bar with a band playing in it? It looked filthy. I really wanted to give it a try, but now I can't find it! Seemed like a fairly popular mod too I THINK it was called the Coyote bar & grill. I'm not sure. It sounds right but I don't think that's it. HALP!
  17. (Posted this on the mod page, thought I'd throw it up on here. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!!) Hey, me again. Been testing for a few hours, I have one small problem and one huge problem. 1. Problems starting a new game: My fellow gets stuck and the Doc has some weird issues when I try starting a new game, disabling my ability to do the char. gen. Somewhat the same if I try starting in the Capital wasteland. I bumped RP Alternate Start for NV down my list, and it warps me away to wherever I ask, so that's a workaround for now, but how can I fix this? 2. Whenever I try to enter Ghomorra on the strip, I CTD. I'll show you my load list, but I did try making a new fellow without Lucky 38 OR the FO3 mods I installed and the problem persisted. Out of all the Casinos, that's definitely my favorite, so any help you can offer, I'd greatly appreciate. Thanks. 18. Right, so, Project Nevada looks like the more stable of the overhauls. I did some rooting around and it seems that FOOK seems to be quite nice with it, but I wanted to ensure that damage is as realistic as possible. Does FOOK let you root around damage preferences? Can I do that with PN through MCM? Would I have to edit the script myself? I'm going to not use Requim quite yet. Is there a general guide somewhere on optimizing your load order? I use BOSS but I don't 100% trust it. I also noticed that I never installed any of the unofficial patches. Should I have done that on a fresh install, or can I do it mid-way through building up my load order? Thanks again.
  19. Hey guys I'm trying to figure out how to make the most epic freaking load order of all time. Should I go ahead with one of the big overhaul mods? I also want to use some other handful of quest/new lands mods, the NCR mod, legion enchancement, sexual innuendo, the vertibird, the motorcycle, drugs are bad mmkay, and a few choice FO3 mods to use with Requiem. Probably some more stuff too. Tips? Advice? Thanks in advance.
  20. If anyone could send me this, or PM me the link, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

  22. I'm not sure why, but I just had a play with it and it's fantastic. It's a fully voiced mod that lets you join the NCR military. Have a look!
