Y'know what, I'm gonna join the chorus and also whitelist this site on a provisional basis. Please don't let that be a mistake!

Valve/Bethesda announce paid modding for Skyrim, more games to follow
LuDux replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
In response to post #24566889. #24566939 is also a reply to the same post. I only got /into/ modding because I could play around with a bunch of mods to begin with. If I have to pay a fortune just to experiment with mods... I never would have gotten into modding to begin with. -
Valve/Bethesda announce paid modding for Skyrim, more games to follow

Mod authors deserve compensation, yes. But does Valve and Bethesda deserve 75% of that? Remember, whatever you're paying a mod author, they only see 25%. -
Valve/Bethesda announce paid modding for Skyrim, more games to follow

I use over 100 mods. I cannot afford to pay over $100 for /mods/. s#*!. -
As a regular of the Children of Cyrodiil forums before they went down (http://childrenofcyrodiil.com/forums/ ), I've taken the liberty of starting up a cheap interim board until the CoS main board gets fixed, here: http://skykids.freeforums.net/index.cgi I'm in the process of gathering old members, so at least we'll have some place to continue the momentum that was just starting to build for the community Children of Skyrim mod. Before the board went down, people were close to having natural spawns of non-crappy Bethseda looking children among bandits, mages, and etc naturally throughout the world, as well as a great deal of the weapons and armor converted, etc etc. If at all possible I'd like to keep that going, so if any of you know any of the regulars from the old board, let 'em know there's at least a crappy temporary board up for now. Many thanks!

So... I looked up S.T.A.L.K.E.R, and please correct me if I'm wrong because it does look fun - is it like a more serious Fallout, without the Fallout comedy and style? I'm actually interested in playing it, but since Bethseda already /has/ a post-apocalyptic series with Fallout, I'm really wondering what they'd be thinking in getting S.T.A.L.K.E.R to add to that. Maybe combine the two? But that'd be a mess. I dunno. I kind of hope Bethseda didn't buy them - I'd rather they just make another Fallout game, but that's personal preference.

Bethesda Rolls Out Skyrim Patch v1.7 BETA on Steam
LuDux replied to xlcr's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
According to BOSS I'm using 154 mods. Decided to use the beta so I could see what trouble I'd have before it went official and life, and - well, after a few hours of play with my 154 installed mods and the 1.7 beta, I've run into absolutely no problems. Can't tell if there are any performance improvements or not, but so far it's been fine for me. -
Site and NMM updates, social networking features incoming
LuDux replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
Wow, I seriously thought the site was broken or had gotten hacked. It's on purpose? Really? Damn. Well, I guess I won't be looking at the front page anymore, just 'tracked files'. It's a shame, because that means I won't see many of the new mods, but I guess I kind of have enough already. It's not worth the effort for how much more difficult this makes it to find new and interesting content, I've got better thing to do than waste my time fighting the site interface. Like modding. -
Does anyone here Crossfire their graphics card and use ENB?
LuDux replied to esdchan's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
What specifics graphics cards do you have? -
It looks like anything that changes or affects animations or lighting causes instant CTD's, at least for me.

Question for All who got GTX 460 and using ENB + Ultra Settsing
LuDux replied to zincfe's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Going from a 480 to a 460 will only give you small improvements. I suggest at least upgrading to a 560 or more. -
Don't accept every single quest offered to you the instant they're offered to you, and finish the quests you have before starting new ones? Really, it's not that hard.

Skyrim crashes to desktop after bethesda logo
LuDux replied to rixon16's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Are you using mods? -
If you use it more than three times in one day, your grandma will explode. Twice.
-
The Skyrim Total Enhancement Project mod is a great place to start. It has more than just graphics mods, but it includes the best: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11&navtag=file/images.php?id=11&tab=3

Yeah, it's a beta, it's going to be buggy. They might've removed that functionality in the beta to further improve it before the 1.6 update is released.
-
Technically, the maximum number of mods that Skyrim can load is 255, no matter how small or big. Go past that and the game will instantly crash at the start up screen.
-
lol I use 187 mods and don't think 187 is very many haha.

1.6 beta update crash after bethesda logo
LuDux replied to SpeedyWildman's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
That's what you get for using the beta update. It broke about 16 of the mods I was using. And by broke I mean various ctd's. -
CK need steam to work and only available through steam
LuDux replied to rabidNode's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The CK needing Steam to work is /only/ a problem if you're a pirate. -
It is a texture pack after all,and it's available now! :D

Haha I can't wait to see all the doubters and trolls coming back with woeful heartfelt apologies for all their flamebait and trolling. -
To add onto the universal agreement of the other posters, yeah. I mean, you can build low to middlingly sorta good gaming PC for under $1000, but it won't be anything near great. Better to budget something closer to $1500-$2000+ if you want a /gaming/ (not just regular type) computer. For a gaming /laptop/, think maybe twice that.

Wow, way to be an unhelpful <snip>, Mironic. To someone's first post too. With an image. :armscrossed: As to the question, some files are just like that for me on the Nexus, too. I usually just end up downloading them manually, then doing 'install from file'. If every file is like that for you now, though, the Nexus might be having some database problems, or you could try re-installing the Nexus Mod Manager. Hope that helps! No need for rudeness, even if you think he was rude. -- LadyMilla
