None of them actually work though, do they? Plenty people playing Skyrim without steam.

It's not just you, op. Lots of people hate steam. Me included.

I like to use F.Lux when using a computer after dark. For those that don't know about it, it's a simple piece of software that adjusts your display to better match ambient light, reducing eye strain. http://stereopsis.com/flux/ It works, however when I go to adjust brightness settings in game, flux is deactivated and then never works with skyrim until graphics are reset to default. Any ideas to stop it deactivating in game?

I've made the mistake of installing too many mods. Some landscape texture packs are total garbage, even ones with high endorsements. Not sure what can be done about this though, short of having uploads reviewed by admin. It would be nice if NMM allowed you to view which mods were overriding others, in it's current state it seems more of an installer than a manager.

+1 I've always loathed steam. Caused nothing but problems for me over many years. Down with steam, up with NEXUS!
